I have traffic and can't figure out how!!! Using wp robot for content.

I have a website (richjoker dot com) that is an affiliate site I set up in Oct. It has had only one page of wprobot content using only youtube videos and a very simple theme. I had set it up and sort of forgot about it while I was working on other niche sites, until the end of Dec. when I happened to look up the awstats on my cpanel. I was shocked to see traffic going to this site! I can't figure out how. According to awstats, I had 149 unique (non-bot) visitors to my site in January. (I know thats not a lot, but for not trying to promote the site at all, it seems like it)

The trouble is, I can't figure out how they are finding it! Does anyone know how wp robot can drive traffic, or if it does? The stats say most is direct traffic, not google. I want to figure this out so I can enhance it and get more traffic.

This last week we changed the theme and added menu items and now we're creating wprobot campaigns for each menu page. I'll see if that increases traffic too.

Anyone who is knowledgeable about wprobot and traffic, please let me know. I've been doing this since May of 2011 and I still know sooo little. I joined this forum today hoping to start learning more.

THanks in advance!

ps, I hope saying the name of my site isn't against the rules, I made sure it isn't a link. If it is, please let me know.

Your traffic is coming from the video comments on youtube. If you use WP Robot for content generation it is pulling the information from a specific source. Youtube in your case. If you use Yahoo Answers, you will get traffic from people searching on Yahoo Answers who will click on the link to the page where the specific answer is posted on your site. I used to have a site that pulled in Amazon ads, youtube vids and Y! Answers and I got more than 2,000 visitors per day. It was useless traffic however because they weren't directed to my primary content pages, only the pages that contained the auto posts.

Trust me when I say that you need to generate unique content and they will come. Using auto content will bring traffic yes, but not the kind of traffic you want. Be fair to your visitors and give them what they deserve for visiting your site, good unique content. Make their visit worth their while and give them above average information. Doing so will generate much better results than you know.

I still use WP Robot at times for sub-domains and such. Never for my pages. Only on back end posts that aren't really set up for anything but to boost traffic numbers. I won't get into why, but I use if occasionally for this purpose only. I may develop a product explaining why soon due to testing results being very positive.

With that said, I never use auto content for an authority site, it's just not worth it. Keep something in mind, the more you write about your subject, the better you will get. Before you know it, you will write ten posts worth of content that you can schedule to be posted throughout a month or so. And it will generate results because it will be unique.

    Best of luck!
