You can get PLR all over the place, but if you are going to take the time to build an email list, I highly suggest you take the time to create your own free offer. It will build a lot more trust with your subscribers and result in much better conversions.

Yea you should definitely create your own product if you can. To be honest I just send out the cool free tools and tricks that I find.

I try to keep it as real as possible and just share with them what is working for me.

you could go to ezinearticles.com and use any of the articles there - if you copy them entirely, including the resource box and all links and don't change anything, you can use them, that's what they are there for

Not necessarily the best route, but you can google the term 'free plr products" and see what you find.

If you find something that interests you, download it and rewrite the product to make it your own.
Change the graphics, and you have yourself a freebie.

Just be careful of free stuff as most of it will just be junk.

On that same note, I have found a few "diamonds in the rough" that just needed a little work to make a viable product.

The BEST resource and place to get free stuff for your
e-mail list is in your own BRAIN.

If you get your freebie information from elsewhere, then
why should people get if from you?

Instead, use your brain and some elbow grease to create
a freebie that positions you as being someone who
provides unique value to your subscribers.

That way, you give people a real reason to join - and stay
        on - your list.

        Dedicated to mutual success,

Join the War Room, there are LOTS of things given away there with giveaway rights. Be aware though that the authors often do so with the aim of getting their product/affiliate links out there. As people have pointed out, creating your own stuff should be your goal and having your OWN affiliate links in there ;-)

Who says you can't earn money as an eBay affiliate any more? My stats say otherwise

PLR articles are good for freebies. Depending on your niche, you can also give your subscribers free access to a product you created or invite them to a paid webinar for free in exchange for them filling out the opt-in form.

You can also give them other valuable content, such as a video, slide presentation, audio, whatever, as long as it helps them in a way.
