$5000/month with Amazon?

I make $1k to $2k per month with about 20 minutes per day of effort. $5k is definitely feasible if I spent a few hours per day tending to it.

No luck involved at all. I'm very good at what I do. Just a bit lazy/busy with kids so I dont devote as much time as I should.

Amazon sites are like any other micro niche site. They require proper research, good on-page SEO, and backlinks. Though your keywords should be pretty targeted.

Instead of "LCD TV reviews" you may want to go for "lcd tv for bedroom," "best 42 inch lcd," etc. (totally random examples.) Basically, you want to stay extremely focused.

I'm not earning $5,000 a month by any means. But I've found that conversions are higher if you're very focused on your keywords - even if your overall traffic isn't as high.

I own about a dozen sites. That said, there is usually only 1 or 2 earning sugnificanty at any time. Most of my income is currently coming from one site I am developing into an authority and one less than stellar site.

If some of you are looking for some tips to make money with Amazon, do a search for Chris Guthrie. He's a fellow warrior who has done very well with Amazon.

The problem in the Amazon affiliate is that you should your website become authority to get reputation and then getting much more sales to make a good profit.

Start focus on making great articles about products and SEO, article submission, getting high page-rank backlinks, social media, social bookmarking and others to spread your website very well.

Quality content is working as magnet for visitors and teasing your visitors to buy your promoting products.

I would assume there are a number of forum members that are earning 5K per month. Jan Roos's WSO shows 9K in Dec. if I remember correctly. The way I look at it is that it just takes time and dedication to reach that point. I started my very first site last May and it was an Amazon site. I didn't do much keyword research (besides my primary keyword just to see if it was possible) because I was so new to everything. I just picked out something that sold for a reasonable amount and seemed like it would be something that people would buy online as opposed to buying at a store. I spent about a month writing reviews (1000-1200 words) until I had about 45 product reviews and about 15 informational articles on the site. I go back every now and then and add a review or two if I feel like it. That's about it. That site has consistently pulled in more and more every month. It is my best performer of all my sites (I have about 6 with 4 being Amazon) although my second Amazon site I made is gaining ground. The more they age, the better they get apparently. My income keeps growing from my Amazon sites every month with very little "maintenance". I mainly use AMR (Scrapebox to scrape article directories), IM Automator (indexing posts), and Fiverr for my backlinking (backlink diversity).

Month 2: $120.00
Month 3: $150.00
Month 4: $270.00
Month 5: $415.00
Month 6: $375.00
Month 7: $910.00 (November...Black Friday)

Month 9: $700.00 (Slight drop from holidays, but I wasn't too upset, since it was still double my last pre-holiday month)

I made all my Amazon sites using the same model and the more they age, more backlinks, better backlinks, etc... they just keep rising in the rankings while getting lots of longtail traffic (60%-70%). I've gotten the primary keyword for 3 of my 4 Amazon sites to top 3 (4th site is only 2 mos. old so it is still rising), but most of my sales come from the longtail keywords (product name + review usually). The way I see it is if the site has about 50+ pages of unique content (1000+ words each), you are bound to get some traffic. Brute Force...

I don't see any reason why I can't just keep repeating the process. Given enough time and dedication, it just seems like a game of numbers. As the money grows, you can automate and outsource more to speed up the process. Find something that works and duplicate it over and over and over and over. Hopefully in a couple of years (or sooner), I'll be able to dig out this thread and post that I am in the 5K per month club with just Amazon.

If you should start selling your own products on that site instead of making a bit of amazon affiliate commissions.

There are of course people who make money in any suggested field but that does not necessarily mean anyone else will.

There are many more variables involved. As for these niche sites, I've read many more threads on this forum from people who aren't making any money than threads saying people are making money.

However, yes, you can make money I wouldn't send people directly to Amazon. I would build a list first. Get creative.

I don't want to give away my method but just think out of the box. Imagine a group of people who are really addicted to something and then think of all the things they would buy from Amazon via you if you were in regular email contact with them.

There is also selling your own books on Amazon (hard copy and Kindle).

I personally know of 6 people that do and I would say there are more.

Now that I have smashed all doubt out of the ballpark, why not join that group?
Anyone with focus and determination can do it.

I can add to the list above knowing multiple Amazon Affiliates pulling in over 5K per month but it will NOT happen overnight, you need steadily build it up over a period of time but it is certainly very possible to accomplish.

The problem with most Amazon Affiliates is they are not patient enough and give up too easily but if they persevered (because it is hard work at first) then you would build up a residual monthly income with very little maintenance work.

It is well worth really buckling down and doing the hard work initially to get a nice residual income that will come in month after month once its established.

first found a niche, then write article, then publish.

I dont understand all the people who are acting like the low commission % is bad. I mean even with 6% you can get up to $30 a sale that's only 3 sales to make $100....

I got to $100 a day almost instantly doing Amazon I'm so glad I kicked adsense and Clickbank to test it

The traffic is laser targeted so many of the keywords are untapped and the conversion rates are over 10%

Think about it...

If you set up 20-30 websites or even more promoting certain types of products, and you get thousands of hits between them each day, then that's easily achievable.

Put your keyword in quotes when you do a Google search. Then go to the last page of search results. Many times when the first pages says 120,000 results only 300-400 show up in google. The maximum search results google will show is 1,000 so if you see 1,000 results then there is a huge number of sites that are trying to rank for that keyword.

Now having said that your real competition is the top 10 sites. If you can beat any of them the other xxx,xxxx do not matter. If you can't beat any of the top then the rest of the xxx,xxx don't matter either.

Simply put don't worry about how many sites there are. Just look at the top 10 and see if you can knock one of them off.

Another question:
Which is better, dozens of small niche sites or a couple of big authority sites? I am planning to build only 2 authority sites under a major category as I am considering less work on SEO and site management.

Yep agree with Gaz. I am personally looking to slowly build authority sites. I have two already in the works, each with 10 product reviews and some supporting articles as well. I will just continue to add quality content and good backlinks. It takes time to build traffic, but once you do that you will make money. Just have to be consistent and realize it will take months in most cases to make consistent money.

I've been making around $3,000/month ($5,500 in Dec) via Amazon.
My strategy is building up a few(2-5) authority sites with 60-100+ posts and then also building smaller niche sites.

After building 100 or so sites in the last year, I've grown to love building large sites instead of many smaller ones. It's much easier to manage a larger site.

I make anywhere from $300 to $1000 a month on Amazon barely lifting a finger. I do this through organic traffic via Google (good SEO) with highly targeted product based keywords. It is certainly possible to make 5k a month with the right number of product based mini-websites. There already are some great courses out there that exist that teach exactly this concept, you just have to look a little bit.

Chris Guthrie is sort of an authority in the Amazon business...You should check out this interview on my blog. It should help.

Chris Guthrie has quite a lot of good info, would also check out problogger as well, it's by Darren Rowse I think and he's very successful with Amazon.

There are many of us who make more than $5000/month from Amazon with authority style, product review sites. My family of 5 lives off of what I make as an Amazon Associate. I know it can be done but it does take work. (If you like building sites, researching, writing, and/or managing others to do some of that work for you, it doesn't seem like work at all, though.)

My amazon income is starting to explode a little bit. I made $210 in December expecting it to fall off in January and Feb. But I made $277 in Jan... and I'm expecting to make nearly $600 in Feb. It'll probably plateau a little bit until I start rolling out more sites with my new knowledge.

I'm still learning and I'm not exactly sure what will work and what won't ... but I have a good idea.

I have one site that gets decent traffic with tons of buyer keywords, gets decent clicks to Amazon, but hasn't made a single sale yet. Frustrating. But I know that's the part of the game.

I plan to reinvest in my winners by posting articles with very targeted keywords that have low traffic but hopefully convert better. We'll see!

I find it really fun building Amazon sites because at the same time as you build a slowly growing income, you can test out the following:

1. Conversions rates

2. You can test out your SEO and backlinking

So every 1000 to 3000 visitors on a site, I like to tweak things around and change them a bit.

Getting the traffic initially sucks though and requires some investment.

if you're lucky enough to do the right keyword research, you will get some good traffic from only On page.

If you have say 5-10 sites, you can test out what works and what doesn't. Try out different niches and such.

The only key things here is finding a good content writers and writing the reviews yourself is time consuming and exhausting.

I made a site 6 monts ago, put 50$ in content and 50$ in seo, now it has 500 visitors daily, making about 20$ daily on amazon.
Actually I made 8 sites 6 monts ago, and this one "shot", others have about 30 visitors daily only.
