Advice Needed - Web Design | Web Development | Web Marketing

We are a 20 year old marketing and advertising company that has specialized in web design and web marketing since 2003. Our current billings are approximately 2 million dollars per year, and we do a lot of volume work. Typically we do this work at wholesale as we act as a production house for over 300 advertising agencies and marketing companies in the US and Canada.

Our average web design project is about $5,000 dollars. We occasionally work on larger projects that range between $15,000 and $50,000 dollars. Our skills include but are not limited to, award winning custom design, PHP programming including zend framework and Ruby on Rails. We are skilled in HTML5, and implement numerous types of CMS's. One of our niches is mobile marketing, so we also create a lot of mobile web apps and native web apps

Here's our problem. We sell a lot of these $5,000 dollar projects, but we seem to falter when it comes to pitching and closing larger web design/development projects. I feel that sometimes we lose these projects due to under pricing which leads larger companies to believe that we will also under-deliver, and I also feel like we have never been taught how to pitch and propose larger projects.

I am hoping that warrior members in Web design & development firms with experience with larger projects can give us guidance in the following areas:

> Pricing
> First person pitching (what type of sizzle should go in the pitch; should it be powerpoint, PDF etc.)
> Proposals
> Agreements

I appreciate any assistance that my fellow Warriors can give me. Thanks much.

Have you been to the Warrior Special Offers section lately? People are here looking for ways to make money. Why would any professional firm doing 2 Million in business ask for help on forums full of people who NEED way more help than you do? You go UP the ladder to GET help and DOWN the ladder to OFFER help.

But since you're already here, I'll solve the problem for you.
You are spending TOO MUCH TIME on projects under $5,000. That's why you can't close bigger deals. You need to concentrate your efforts on pitching more and more bigger deals and quit wasting time on the smaller ones.
Warriors will be more than happy to help you do the work for those smaller deals. Then you will have time to learn from qualified and experienced professionals who know pricing and how to pitch 5 and 6 figure deals. I have business proposals and contracts for sub-contractors and agreements with non-compete clauses for outside contractors for more control over the work being done. Now, for the help you need.

Since you like forums, the World Business Forum is the only one I know of, that has what you need: World Business Forum New York 2012 | WOBI OR, Rob "The Genie" Toth, the Owner of The Canada Marketing Summit Rob Toth | Rob 'the Genie' Toth - Online Sales System Design and Marketing Strategy Partner

And last but not least, Richard Harshaw, Marketing Advice & Solutions | Advertising Advice & Solutions | Small Business Monopolize Your Marketplace in Texas. He's been showing companies how to increase their business with million dollar mega-deals for at least 2 decades.

Out of those 3 options, "The Genie" will give you the most value for your dollar. The Warriors will give you the time you need to continue UP the ladder while they follow, helping you every step of the way. . . .See? Everyone WINS going UP!!

I don't know why, but most people like to ignore my advice rather than discuss what they don't like. That's rude and doesn't help anyone if nobody replies whether it's good or bad. So, will YOU respond with any answers or just ignore me too? Hmmm.. I'll give that 60/40 odds .

I retired in 2005 at 43 and now I give away websites like these for FREE [hosting excluded]

When you make at least $100+ per month, we split the profit 80/20 and YOU get the 80% Until then, you keep 100% and I'll help you drive traffic, get backlinks and put the domain in your name too!

I`m not going to go in dept with your situation, but just to give you an overall sense. I noticed you mentioned with your firm had some quite of success over the years.

Pricing- can always be determined what others are generally charging. If you want to charge more then simply add more value or find your "universal selling proposal"

First person pitching- Just know it starts will relationship. Ask questions that address that person to open up, then using that into play with pitching.

Example: So what would you be doing if you weren't working?
Example: (use the answer they just provide) so what if I can build a website around what you like to do..

A pitching wont be successful if you dont know what to say "your script" and relating.

This should give you some sense or general direction..

Many people talk about the "shortage" of "tech" people in the career field nut I think the shortage is in the "salespeople".

    Find closers.
