Critique my site!

Ok let me start by saying thanks for all the help Ive had here and the knowledge shared with me over the past few months. A lot of information has been invaluable to me and this place has kept me going when i've been stuggling.

So Ive created my first site (well its kind of my second but its my first real attempt).

Let me start by saying Ive learned lots doing this first site...good and bad.

If I could start the site again...

1) I wouldnt have chosen this niche as it doesnt interest me.
2) I would have used fivrr to get some articles written, it takes so much time!

Things I need help with (if I do continue with it)!

1) Link Building, how do you choose a decent fivrr package or WSO? How do I know it wont be some crap that gets my site de-indexed?

2) Im still unsure on how the SEO works on blog posts...if Im meant to use the keywords of the main pages or do no SEO at all. Surely if I use the words on main pages they would be competing?

3) I have yet to 'create a list' something I now know is top priotrity, (need to purchase the software first), what would I offer this 'list' if I had one?

Anyway heres the site, be as brutal as possible! The more brutal the better! Like I said, I may just kill it off as Ive learned alot in the process and its done it's job from that point of view but I have no real interest in it. Ive got 6 ideas for sites im interested in and would enjoy creating and updating, so I may move on to them and use this as a learning experience.

      Ive seen this template used before, it works well with sales pages if you write some neat copy for your offer and drive traffic I think this could work well for you

    I would say you need a clear call to action at the top of the page in the form of a headline (rather than an ad banner) - just something like:

    "How to Choose the Best 3D Software Without Breaking the Bank..."

      "Call to action Man" and you should also be building a list, you can't go without it these days. Write a short report about choosing the best 3D software in PDF format and offer it to your visitors. Right at the top ask for there name and email and tell them you will send them an email right away with the Special FREE report.

      All and all not a bad start and a great idea to come here to get suggestions. Your heading down the right path.

      Firstly what I mean by copy is sales copy. You need some working copy to convert those visitors to clicks and then sales. Is this an affiliate site or are these your products?

    With regards to search engines, make sure you get the basics right. titles, descriptions, keyword density, content, content, content ... and backlinks from as many sources as possible. And hope that google does the rest.

    I like the design, and the images included look very professional. It would pique my interest.

    Did you stuff the "best 3D animation software" phrease into your content enough times though? Before I was even looking for keywords that jumped out at me.

    The site is pretty cookie cutter.

    It's all good but here's my .02

    The call to action is awful people don't care that "it's the best" all they care about is what it does for them what benefits does it have does it provide results and does it do it FAST so on....

    Also the red hurt my eyes

      ^^ Good advice right here. Although, I personally think the site looks very nice and clean. I also think the above comment about the text is spot on. The sales text looks over-hyped.

    The website looks clean, but I'm a little confused; I don't know exactly what this website is supposed to do for me. If I don't know what the site is about in about 5 seconds, I leave the website.

    I realized after scrolling down what your site is about (I would not have gone this far if I was a regular visitor) but it should be obvious what your site is all about above the fold. You don't mention that your homepage reviews the top 3 animation softwares anywhere (I searched for "review" on the homepage; the word wasn't found once).

    Make it obvious what your site is about - the design looks good though; that's a plus! You're on the right track - best way to learn is to put something out there and tweak it as you go (just like what you're doing now).

    It looks good, but by mentioning (and linking to) "Illusion Mage" in every part of the site - even in the reviews for other software, it is obviously a page geared just to promoting that one product. That would put me off buying from your link as a consumer, as it looks like an obviously overused affiliate link and not an impartial review.

    I would definitely tone down the keyword stuffing for Google too. It looks overdone and not natural.

    These are not really critiques, just things you might (over time) try to integrate. First thing I would change is to change the header to

    3D Animation Software Rankings!

    I would also use Photoshop to create a trophy style numbering list of the softwares. Like the image below but different.

    Something really simple that will make it much easier to read is to break up those long paragraphs into shorter ones. The solid blocks of type make it somewhat difficult to follow the flow.

    I'm not sure I understand this part correctly. You know you can start building a list for free with mailchimp, right? An idea for a freebie would be a how-to email or video-email course.
