Brand Freakin' New to Online Marketing...Help! Looking for Mentor, not sales pitch

OK, so I am BRAND new to making money online...meaning I haven't made any. I work a 9-5 job, do TONS of "traditional" marketing (sales copy, newsletters, LOTS of social media, etc), but I want to stop working the office grind.

I KNOW that most successful people have had mentors, and I don't have anyone in my life that I know can help me. PLEASE don't just try to sell me stuff, I've looked over dozens of products, systems, etc. I just want someone to work with, a mentor.

I read lots of posts from people that say now that they're successful, they want to mentor others. If that's you, please help. If you're intent on just selling me stuff, please don't.

I need to make around $100/day to replace my current income. very doable, in my opinion. I'm a quick learner and good at marketing, just not online (yet).

Look up everything you can find on Travis Sago and do it. Most of his mentorship is free and he is the one I learned a great deal from as a newbie. Also, Rusell Brunson, Marcus Campbell and Jennifer Ledbetter (PotPieGirl) are solid, reputable marketers who have programs for Newbies and also helped me a great deal.

Also, look up ED DALE 100 Day Challenge that is free that taught me huge amounts of SEO. Another one - Daniel Turner is one good, genuine guy and his training is evergreen.

That should start you off in the right direction.

Also, when you have some change to spare Tom Ness WSO here on the WF really DO work because I made money from them.

With all of these choose ONE niche and focus on it until you figure it out and make some money.

The reason most fail online is that they try to learn and do everything all at once.

Find one mentor, one system and do it every day for 90 days. If you don't make progress, go to the next one.

It is a learning curve, but the most rewarding one I have ever found, since I DO make money while I am sleeping from people on the other side of the world buying from my websites. This is not a pipedream. Find your interest that is a HUNGRY market, research high searched-for, low competition keywords and start building with your mentor's guidance. A S I M P L E consistent plan WILL get you there.

    Reward small gains.

Give yourself room to fail fast.

Build up what you find is successful.

Go to the top of your dreams from there : ).

Thank you both! Should I be investing in a "system" (Google Sniper, Wealth in a Box, Web Automation Wizard, etc)? or just plain learning right now?

I'm fine buying a system so long as I hear its pros/cons from an honest person rather than a sales pitch...

If you're a complete newbie you don't need a mentor.

That's like looking for a thesaurus before you learned the alphabet.

Work out what you want to do and then learn about it first so that when you find a mentor you have a plan they can help you with.

I understand you don't want to be pitched but this isn't the typical pitch. Join the War Room. I think it's $40. There's more excellent stuff in there than anyone could digest in a year. It's like the WSO forum only everything is free.

Spend at least a month reading and studying until you find something you think you want to do. Then do your best at putting a real business model to work. Once you've done that then maybe you'll want a coach. But I doubt you're ready for one right now. Good luck.

Information is good, the trouble is that there is too much of it out there. I would suggest that you avoid this information trap by taking a mentor sooner rather than later, otherwise you could end up paralysed. I like Alex Jeffreys, his IM membership is inexpensive and worth every cent. If you decide you like his style then you can upgrade to his inner circle and really take your business forward.
I quite like John Thornhill too

Look into Kensters coaching program..Hes the real deal and a lot of people have had success with him. He over delivers and is always there for his students. This gives you a chance to meet other fellow marketers at different levels and learn from them along with Kenster. He goes from helping out the newest marketer to helping people with more advanced skills. Excellent training platform using Kujabi. I think with your overall skill level you have already acheived and with his skills it could be a great fit. The training may or may not be open at this time I would just check and if not go on his waiting list if your interested, usually 6 weeks I believe, good luck from a fellow marketer!

I am a newbie also. But I have learned this much.
    1. You need to grow a list.
    2. You need to be a friend to your list members. (give them good stuff and sometimes do i right in your emails.
    3. Get organized. Make a 1.2.3. list for every single day and follow your plan. Too many people just bounce around buying into every opportunity out there, and they get so overwhelmed with "systems" that they lose sight of reality. What's reality, you ask? (lol). You need to do the same things anyone has ever done to make money in any business, be it brick and morter or online or both.

Where am I getting all this from? Russell Brunson. I have paid for 3 months with him, (because I am not a natural marketer, and because my time has been so so limited, but I recognize the reality behind his teaching. I can't give you my affiliate link to him, but however you find him, you won't be sorry IF you follow his instructions and use your head.

If you did read lots of posts you would have noticed that this question comes up almost every single day....

Also you would have noticed the answers are always the same...
Good Coach (Most newbies need a coach not a mentor) will cost good money.
"I will share profits" won't even attract the wannabe's.
    etc. etc.

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
