How Can I Improve My Sales Page's Performance?

I'm trying to figure out what my next move should be to improve the performance of my sales page for my ebook (www(dot)movethechainsbook(dot)com)

Here are my performance stats over the last two weeks:

- 171 unique page loads of my sales page.
- Eight visitors downloaded the free sample version of the ebook.
- One person purchased the book.

When I initially made the video that is at the top of the sales page, I tried to make the music and the video overall appeal to my (then) target market, which were male athletes in their early 20's and late teens.

What I've found, is that the demographic that seems to be most interested in the product, are mothers and wives of football players.

So I understand that I need to re-do the video, and get more traffic to the page, as 171 unique visits may not be a large enough sample size to make a sound decision on what to do next (although I could be wrong).

What would you recommend that I do next?

I was considering lowering the price of the book, however I felt that it is worth $20, considering the information in the book, and the value of that information.

Ultimately, value is determined by what "others" will pay for your product, and I understand that.

Should I start with lowering the price? Redo'ing the video? Are there other deficiencies on the sales page that I may be overlooking?

I also understand that my product could be simply undesireable, although I conducted surveys amongst my initial target market, and made sure that my book addresses what they told me themselves was their burning concern.

Yes, way too early to tell with 171. Keep going till 500, and then tweak one thing at a time, against another. headline, offer, email form, video, etc etc

  • You said you conducted initial market research on the first market, and your product addressed their needs. Now, after 171 visitors you are changing your target market. How do you know the target marget is different than what you initially found? Maybe you just haven't goten the right traffic yet. You should continue to try and find your customer before making major changes to your offer.
