Hi folks,

A quick question, how many people here run membership sites or would like to run one now or in the future?

If you do run a membership site, what software do you use?

I use Joomla with the ACE module. (free)

I don't run a membership site yet but planning to do it very soon for a product I have developed

Not sure what membership software I am going to use may have a programmer make me one

Ed, before paying to have a programmer make a ground up script for you spend some time researching the available products which are already out there.

With the huge amount of script available now, quite a few of them offered by Warriors, pretty much anything is possible with a ready made solution which cost little compared to the several thousand you will spend on a ground up scripting job.

Hey Ed,

Try to decide if you are actually going to keep the membership site and run it yourself or whether or not you may want to sell it a little further down the road. Some of the more robust scripts will not allow you to sell unless your buyer also has a copy of their script. Not a huge problem, but it may cost you a little more of your profit when you have to buy the script for your client.

Just something to consider...

We have a membership site using Joomla and some custom coding. We are looking at a different solution that will be a little more integrated and out of the box. Its in closed beta at the moment.....

  DLGuard for easy signup process, only 2 fields required.
