@OP as Alexa beat me to it. Focus on List building. You can't beat making money using email marketing(in regards to a long term business model). I didn't make my first sale until I started to build my list. Always provide value to your subscribers and treat them as people not stats(i.e. CTR). Focus on relationships and engagement with your list. From time to time survey them and find out what they want. Then either create a product to fill the demand or recommend other product (ClickBank) that you feel would meet their needs.

How do I build a list?

These are my three favourite methods:
      1, Solo ads
      2, Adswaps
3, Giveaway (run them yourself; you can build a lot faster if your the host)

Sounds very easy to me. But the number 5 is not clear to me. What is the thing you want me to rinse and repeat. Do you want me to submit those same 20 product's presentation again and again?

You can do it on a word pad. Use bigger text and describe the product
with 10 different word pad writings, record it with a free screen camera and put the camera around the words you type and talk into the microphone repeating the words you type on the word pad. Easiest way to do a powerpoint presentation for beginners, and it's effective.

You can get Camstudio.. it's FREE and really super easy to use (it's small)
Then you just record the screen of each word pad you type, say what you wrote..(pause it) write something else, say what you wrote again, (pause it) do that at least 10 times. That's your powerpoint video.

That's how I started. I use camtasia now as I advanced since then.

Google camstudio for your free screen recording camera

There are many different ways of promoting ClickBank products as an affiliate. I've made my living from it for 4 years and have, during that time, tried several of them.

In my opinion, however you look at it and whatever you do, all the successful methods, from which people genuinely make steady money, or earn a living, or build a business, really boil down to three inescapable essentials.
    • You have to choose wisely the products you promote (because if you get that wrong, it clearly won't make any difference what else you do). The guidelines here have proven helpful to many people: Selecting the product
    • You have to pre-sell effectively to well targeted traffic (which obviously means that you have to understand the difference between pre-selling and selling, and you have to have at least one source of well targeted traffic).
    • You have to build lists yourself. This is probably the commonest failing among people who struggle ineffectively to promote ClickBank products. The point to appreciate is that what typically sells them is the strength of your recommendation, your credibility and the trust people have in you. Those things are actually even more important to the sales process than the product and its sales page. It isn't really possible to achieve the outcome you want without building relationships. You have to have a list of your own and an effective continuity-process for its subscribers: What are the essential things to know about list building?
These three things are simply not optional. The reality is that to get anywhere much beyond the occasional semi-random sale, as a ClickBank affiliate, you have to be both willing and able to do all three of them at least adequately. People who imagine otherwise, in my opinion, are not people making a living from selling ClickBank products.

PPC isn't essential in any way. (I've done some, a couple of times, but I don't use it now. It can work, of course, but it certainly isn't "needed").

List building is essential, in my opinion.

It's the opinion of others making a living from ClickBank, too. There are a few hundred threads in this forum with titles like "What's The One Thing You'd Do Differently If You Were Starting Again Tomorrow?". Take a look through a small sample of them. Seriously - it's one of the most helpful things you can do. You'll find that one of the things they all have in common is that they're full of replies from long-established, successful Warriors all of whom give the same answer: the thing they'd do differently, with what they know now but didn't know when they started, is "start to build a list on day 1". There are reasons for that. I understand (from your question) that you don't have a list. If you want to earn money from promoting ClickBank products, I advise you to start building one tomorrow.

Most people who try to earn a living by promoting ClickBank products don't succeed. This is simply factual. To stack the deck totally against yourself by not building a list, and still succeed, really is going to be terribly difficult. I wouldn't be able to do it, and respectfully, I don't think you will, either.

        You hardly need any.

You can get free hosting, on a site you own and control yourself.

You can get free squeeze pages.

You can get a professional autoresponder for free/$1 for the first month and then $15/20 for the second month. That gives you two months to make $15/$20. Not quite as bad as you thought, maybe?

My advice is: if you're not going to build a list, then try something else until you can afford an autoresponder, but not selling ClickBank products.

Alex, I thought the standard advice here was to NOT use a free site because the main reason was that you cannot own and control it since it is free--or am I missing something?

I assume by getting free squeeze pages you mean that you can get someone to write those pages for you or you just saying you that once you have your site up and running you can produce your own pages, or both?

Ohhhh I hate it when I have a 'me too' post and now I have TWO in one day... I was thinking about the free squeeze page and wondering where to find a good one, especially as the Google answers seem to be more miss than hit for a newbie at this sort of marketing

            Yes, I think so ...

Whether you can own and control it isn't really about whether it's free. It's about the terms of service.

You can own and control sites hosted on Byethost, with their free hosting service, and I know some professional marketers who've been using them successfully for many years. People who say things like "Well, they can't be very professional marketers, if they're using free hosting, can they?" are missing the point and simply assuming the very thing we're discussing: the classic example of a circular argument, in other words!

Sites hosted on Blogspot, HubPages and Squidoo are also free, but you can never own or control them, and at some point, their restrictive terms of service (and idiosyncratic/inconsistent interpretations of them) are likely to catch you out. As far as those well-known "hosted services" go, the standard advice to stay well away from them happens to be correct, for marketers (albeit not usually for the "reason" given with the advice  ). But that isn't true of some others.

You can also make a free squeeze page somewhere like 90secondsqueezepage.com, to "get started".

It doesn't look all that professional - to put it mildly - to have that url showing in people's browsers, but for $2.99 or whatever (which doesn't really break anyone's bank?) you can always redirect a .info domain-name to it, to remedy that issue?

been doing clickbank for many years, a product owner and also affiliate marketing.

Listen deeply to alexa's post...which is awesome I might add.

Nothing will get you earning on clickbank fast than list building and then driving all the traffic you can get to your squeeze page.

    I do this.

    Traffic >> Squeeze page >> Offer [Auto R 1 message (video)] - [Auto R 2 message (video)] [AR3] [AR4] [AR5] [AR6] [AR7]

I normally go to 10 messages in auto responder cause sometimes it takes someone more than 7 times to buy, but this works a treat.

Three important words if you wanna make money with clickbank.

    BUILD DAT LIST!

You don't need any money to promote on Youtube or the powerpoint thing that samjaynz has said..

Just select a valuable product on Clickbank and read the reviews. It is better if you can buy it and have a 3rd person assess the sales page to know if it is any good. But if you don't have someone to guide you, you can always assess it by thinking if the page encourages or convinces you to buy. If not, then your potential buyer will probably feel the same way.

Set up videos preferably tutorial videos in the niche and refer them to the product that provides an in-depth guide on what they want to know. You'll have high conversions if you do this right.

Promote the hell out of the videos. Go to a related forum and send them to the video when the question is asked or just put it on your signature - this does not cost a lot and it certainly does not involve writing.

Some products can sell well from direct from niche blogs, but I found that the majority do not.

You really need to build a list in a niche with many different affiliate products if you want to make money with clickbank.

Believe it or not I actually make money from Clickbank products with banners and HTML ads posted on text ad exchanges. I also makes sales from videos and from a niche website.

With careful product selection, proper targeting and enough traffic you can make money from Clickbank products (or any other affiliate program for that matter).

FYI, if you are serious about selling Clickbank products I recommend you get the paid upgrade at CB Engine so you can easily check refund rates on products before you spend time marketing them. High returns = low quality product (and lost commissions), so don't bother with them no matter how much gravity or popularity they have.

One way is to write a small but genuine e-book or report on something related to products that you are promoting. This could be free for people already subscribed to the list.

You may link your pages/product in this e-book wherever necessary.

    Very tough question.
If you go to SEOing from a free and simpleWordress blog with a squeeze page and some content related to your selected CB product, you'll spend a LOT of time (several months adding new content and backlinking), with Google always pointing a gun to your head (Panda, Penguin).
I would suggest to select a cheap 2nd tier Paid Network and begin with some 5 bucks daily during one week making Direct Linking to a CB offer with a very good Sales Page. You'll invest less than $0,2 per click and if you picked a right offer you'll make few bucks. Reinvest and repeat with the same or a different network (there are plenty of them around).

It seems you've got nothing. So the best suggestion may be to create products, post it on clickbank and wait for affiliates to start selling them.

Or, if you want to start up an internet marketing, you've got to buy domain, hosting, autoresponder, get yourself a squeeze page, drive traffic and build a list. Ta-daa... The steps are always the same, just the methods that people use differ.

    All the best!
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[7101254].message }}
    • Several great responses on here. I'd also advise building your list first, within a given niche market, and then promoting CB products appropriate to that niche market to the list. This is not an overnight method, takes time, but the rewards in promoting affiliate products to your own list, verses niche blogs, PPC, etc...are well worth the time invested. Good luck to you!

One of the simplest way is banner advertising...just find a niche that you want to promote..find blogs, forum etc and ask the owner if they willing to sell ads space to you..direct link to the clickbank product...

This is one of the simplest way I can think of...But if you are thinking of long term business, you can always direct them to a squeeze page and slowly build up the list. From time to time promote clickbank products. This is for long term business. But what I suggest above works fine too.

I think newbies (like me at moment) need different ways, such as contract with bloggers, starting advertise in related blogs and pay money after their first revenue. however in clickbank, payments are automated, but we need advertise to attract buyers, so this have an extra payment which should pay on a contract with bloggers. is there any blogger that tend to such programs?

Right now, it's pretty easy to throw up a YouTube video and/or press release, then sprinkle a few links back to it... rank high in Google... send the traffic back to a more comprehensive review or squeeze page, then earn commissions from there.

That's prob the fastest and lowest risk method I'm using right now.
