How to maximize use of iwriter?

Does anyone have any tips on how to structure requests on services like iwriter to maximize results? I've spent a few hundred dollars on writing services through iWriter and textbroker trying to get usable content with little success.

I'm going to try some new sources in the next couple months but I wondered how other people are using the two sources mentioned effectively? I've tried all of the quality levels on each of the services and the difference in quality was pretty laughable with the exception of textbroker.

Inevitably I receive something that reads like poorly spun content. The sentences don't flow, the consistency of speech changes from paragraph to paragraph, and word choices are unusual to say the least. While I'm sure these beat copyscape, I'm not looking for passable, I'm looking for original.

I'm offering higher than standard rates on the sites trying to attract better talent but it seems to just have the opposite effect. I guess I should just take it as a lesson learned and move on. What sources do you use for your content? I'm hesitant to invest too much in a new source if I'm going to get the same results.

    I think you should try on ODesk....

    Get samples for your keyword and if you are satisfy then you will get all. Provide detailed instruction to writer how to writer.. no. of paragraphs, subtitles, no of keywords, any research is required to write... etc.,

    iwriter is the best, so you can read the entire article and you are happy then accept or reject to better quality.

    With Iwriter, you can simply reject articles you don't like, and for better results go for premium or elite writers... And if you're still unsatisfied with the articles written browse for writers with high ratings and good feedback then send them special requests.

    True, I can reject, and I do reject. There comes a point though when I end up accepting because I figure it will take me less time to edit the article than to wait for further revisions. I'm not talking about changing a poor header, or an occasional word, I'm talking a full rewrite.

    I don't mind minimal editing, I expect it, it's the amount of editing that bothers me. I basically end up using them for research. Of course, given the quality of the writing the research is suspect too. I'll look into odesk, I had an account there a while back but never moved forward.

      Hi Effor,

      My opinion - take it as a lesson learned and move on. If you're not getting the results you want using the higher rates I would say it's time to move on. There are plenty of great writers available here on the WF, Elance, Odesk and other places. I would recommend staying away from Freelancer.com though.

    1. Submit to premium writers on iwriter
    2. When you get good articles, which should be 96%+ of the time with premium writers, save them to your favorites list.
    3. Submit new projects to ALL of the people on your favorites list.

    Use the fav list feature every single time. You'll build your own list of go to writers that will NEVER fail you.

      Thanks for the tip but I already was using premium writers. Unless we have way different opinions on what is a good article I'm not sure how you are getting anywhere close to 96%. In the last $200 in spend, I think there was one writer I felt was actually decent enough to be put on my favorite list.

      Perhaps its just our different niches, I could see how some topics are just easier to write about.

        The favorites feature was my point. Premium writers will give you around a 96% success rate. But still, there is a chance of people that aren't up to your standard on your specific topic. That's why you should always always always add someone to your fav list if you like them. No matter if they're standard, premium, or elite. You could get a standard writer that's amazing (because they're new to the website and have to start at standard) so just use the fav writer feature and you'll be good to go.

    Maybe you should give some of the writers in the Warriors for Hire section a try. Read the reviews and then make a small order to make sure you're happy with the quality and writing style.

    Sometimes paying more in the beginning can save you a lot of time and money in the long run.

      So true. In my quest to save money I tried cheaper sources and then upped the payout trying to get better talent. At the end of the day it wouldn't have been significantly more expensive to hire warriors I'm sure. Plus the time savings on rework and the better conversions from a well written article would offset any price increase.
