Best Traffic Source Ever To Build An Email list!

I have noticed several threads on the best traffic methods online. Seems like they always fall into two camps. Camp free traffic and Camp paid traffic.

Both will end up resorting to the same tactics, no matter if paid or free.

My mentor (who demanded I leave him anonymous) gave me his take on the matter as well as encouraged me to share my findings with others as I followed his case study and used it as a blueprint to finally get my list numbers to a point many WSO have failed.

Paid traffic and free traffic is really just about the needs of the source. With paid (PPC) type traffic you are offering a solution and hoping your ad targets a group that will eventually opt in to your list. Really not a lot different than SEO. With both options you are depending on the group to find your ads or optimized content.

Using media buys, forum marketing, and to an extent, social marketing, you should be able to determine what an existing group is in need of, build an ad to peak the interest of the group, and provide a solution for their need to get the opt in.

I sent him several emails asking about this traffic method or that traffic method. I was expecting him to say this one is good this one is better, this one is crap. Instead he showed me his best effort to make each source work. Each case study worked on relating the needs of the site goer or source user to the ad and to the fulfillment of the need.

Some resources we had to take into account what we had learned about specific niches and place ads in places where the niche was likely to see them. Other sources provided that information in real time and for me was easier to convert to opt in.

In the end I was amazed at how so many different traffic sources actually worked well. Many sources where a lot of people said they were worthless actually produced some very responsive list members for the fact we related every aspect of the campaign to the need of the source.

In the end I realized the very best traffic source to build an email list with was actually a very diverse list of traffic sources. Free resources were used first to get seed money for paid ventures.

Separate funnels were set up for each source. Once the funnels were in place and enough traffic was sent to the funnels to complete test, a final optimized version was chosen.

After that it was just getting a to do list set up. A promotions of the day list so to speak. This way I know what to do each hour of the day and I no longer need to spend countless hours online.

One day I might be syndicating articles and sending those leads to their own funnel. That after noon I may be seeking media buys. The next day could very well find me hitting the social pages or setting up content for on and off page SEO.

Something he really pushed was making hot reports for different niches and setting them up at 100% profit affiliate sites. I have done a few so far and can see why many people uses this tactic exclusively. I ask him where he learned this tactic and was surprised to learn he found it written in the War Room by the forum Admin.

The moral of this story: Most of the traffic sources you read about in the Forum are worth pursuing. Just relate every aspect of the campaign to the needs of the users of each source. If you are using a source that has no interaction of users to glean information from, use the knowledge you have available to you about the niche and place those ads in places the target is likely to find them.

Don't give up on a traffic source just because it doesn't produce a sign up in the first ten minutes. Don't count on just one traffic source no matter how good it is today. It may not be as good tomorrow. Just because your favorite source is adding 250 new members a day do not neglect the source that is producing only 25.

Ten of those sources might just save your butt if the big source dries up.

When you combine both paid and free traffic at the same time, there is a good chance that your sales will go up.

What you don't want to do is to put all your eggs into one strategy. You want some of them working for you all the time whether it is PPC or video marketing.

They're 3 types of traffic. Traffic you buy, traffic you create, and traffic you borrow. The only difference with paid traffic and free traffic is time. How much time are you willing to put in to generate free traffic. Paid traffic you can target more, but either method will convert with the right offer.

I've tried so many traffic methods with hardcore testing and the best ones are affiliate program traffic, media buys and solo ads. PPC traffic is good, but only if you have a BIG budget and become advanced at scaling up the campaign.

Social Media is overrated. Sure you'll get lot's of engagement, likes and retweets on your networks, but not many actualy translate into sales. Most of the people making money from social media are people selling other people that they're making money from social media

However, there is one social media tactic that works great for traffic that I've been using for years with success. Create or find a HOT demand paid product or service and offer it free using a script such as "PayWithATweet" so that your social media network has to retweet or share on facebook in order to get the product. I'll share the exact site I use here so you can see what it looks like and know that I'm walking the walk.

Better yet, whenever someone retweets or shares on facebook, when someone click on the link they're redirected to your squeeze page 1st so that they opt-in and then do the same action, and then it's all viral from there. Purchase a solo ad to keep the momentum going when it slows down. I drove over 290+ retweets and 5k+ visitors in couple weeks using this method. Good tips Joey

I think Terrance was talking about using solo ads to send people to the squeeze page to supplement those coming from social sites. Most solo vendors require you send their traffic to a free give away squeeze page.

It all depends on how you setup your Thank You page funnel. If you want to drive traffic to a paid product, you can create a free squeeze page where they opt-in first and on the Thank You page you use the "PayWithATweet" or similar script where they would either Retweet or share it on Facebook to get the product. This works best for solo ads because most solo ad providers will only send out if it's a free offer with a opt-in form.

However, the other method you can use a squeeze page that allows them to Retweet or share on Facebook without having to opt-in first. This is good for traffic. You can find an instant paypal product and link it at the bottom of the squeeze page that says something like "If you already have the report click here..." so those that already have the report will check out your other offer. Here's my example of the one I created over 6 months ago that still get's retweets till this day on autopilot...

Now, on that Thank You page after someone retweets to get the product, make sure you have the product to download there. The good thing is on the Thank You page you can add another instant paypal affiliate product below the actual download that people will click on also, works great. Some solo ad providers will send a email for you since it's still a free offer, you just have to negotiate that with them first.

You can scale this up in different ways, but you have to have a product that is in high demand that people will RUSH to hit retweet or share on facebook. You can even use a cash prize contest for the most retweets etc to crank up the traffic.

          Hello Jennifer,

Sorry this reply is a little slow, I wanted to take a little time and think over your specific situation.

You don't really go into just how you are using your facebook situation. From your response I don't think that you are building a list. So in my mind a good solo ad provider is not going to be cost effective.

Most of the time when you buy a solo ad unless you have a very good OTO set up in your funnel your opt-ins are going to run you .30 to $1.00 each. For traffic to a facebook page I see this as a major Fail.

It is possible that Terrance Charles little tip that he mentioned in this thread about PayWithATweet might might work for you but since this is not something that I use in building my traffic I can't really say.

Building Traffic for a list and Building Traffic for a Facebook Page is sort of unrelated as we are doing different things with our market.

Good Luck to you. But I would avoid Solo Ads for your market.

Just my opinion, if anyone else has a different spin please share it.

When I first started I had specific ideas on just what type of traffic that I wanted to use. I have since learned a very important lesson. All types of traffic convert. Just at different rates.

Free traffic might take just a little longer to build a relationship with, but once you win them over they click the BUY BUTTON also.

Build a relationship with your list, offer good advice, sprinkled with Superior Products and you will prosper. There is more to building a responsive list then just writing a bunch of emails and getting someone to sign up to your auto responder.

Almost every Traffic source you choose can build email list, as long as you have some good freebies to offer.

The tough part is building responsive list?

Why do you think the tough part is building a responsive list?

Everything should be structured from step one to make your list relative. If the list is relative it will be responsive.

That is where the real challenge comes in. I see it over and over again. Once the subscriber is on the list they get pounded with offer after offer. You have to think long term with your list. Consider what niche you are in as well.

Think of the lists that you are on. I am subscribed to more then a few. I learn from those. Make note of how you are being treated. No one wants to be treated like an ATM.

I've been working with some new methods on how to get my subscribers to generate traffic for me by giving them 100% commission when they sell something from my affiliate program in exchange for more traffic to my squeeze page.

Not only do you need to provide value to your list, give them opportunities to generate income for themselves. You'll quickly learn who's going to be buyers and freebie seekers.

@molina88 Using 100% commission products is great for the Affiliate Listbuilder. Allows them to see instant profits. Not to mention gives you buyers that you can OTO and add into your buyers funnel.

But it is only good to build your list and not theirs.

A BIG TIP for your Affiliates on this method is for the Affiliate to Offer a Bonus to the Purchaser. They can do this by adding a few paragraphs to email swipe with your offer reminding the purchaser to email a copy of the transaction id to the Affilaite Listbuilder. When the buyers sent that Proof of Purchase to your affiliates they then just send them thru their own funnel.

Wow lots of good information here. Whenever I read a thread like this I am reminded just how much of a small player I am.

As a newbie my only results have come from the tried and true forum posting and blog commenting. I'm starting on solo ads actually tomorrow, so we'll see how that traffic source works.

      Never give up @KevinDahlberg,

I am just glad to see that you are not doing like I did. I spent years doing diiferent things on the Internet. I made some money for sure. But nothing I did with the exception of Domaining made real money.

But the problem with domaining is I am always chasing good names now. The big players have the really good stuff locked up.

But it looks like your eyes were opened quickly to the fact that "The Money is in the List".

Take action and you will see this too.

Good Tip: Don't overlook other niches. Sure IM and MMO are good but in these niches you have to sell. Find a niche with a buyer in desperate need and you will find people ready to pull out that credit card.

Very true. The big mistake many make, especially after hitting the first "reliable" traffic source.
