How can I save money when renewing a domain?

I need to renew two of my domains from NameCheap in about
seven days or so, and I'd really like to find a way to save some
money when I renew them. (I don't think NameCheap has any
domain renewal coupons available).

Does anyone happen to have any tips or tricks for saving money
when renewing a domain name?

Namecheap doesn't have a lot of coupon offers, so without transferring it out, it's likely that you would just pay the renewal fee. Is it really worth it to move it out for a couple bucks discount?

Just transfer it to Godaddy and there you could choose from a bunch of coupons which can reduce the price of the renewal. I'm always doing like that.

Hmm you can do bulk renewals since you can have discount with that but in your case you have two. So I think you should go with GoDaddy since it offers good amount of renewal coupon codes.

Domains are super cheap these days. I remember paying $100 a year per domain. $10 for a domain renewal is super cheap and you can write it off on your taxes as a business expense anyway.

I have to agree with Suzanne on this one. Are you really willing to waste the time it takes to transfer the domain to a different registrar to save a couple bucks?

Before you do that, find the best offer you can find for a transfer and then contact NameCheap support and ask them if there are any specials on renewals because you are considering transferring using a special offer of $X from "Competitor Name" to save money.

They might extend their current coupon offers for your renewal to keep you as a customer. To me, that would be a better use of your time than transferring.

If you can't afford the $18 measly bucks to renew your domain names, then internet marketing is probably NOT for you.

godaddy has coupons for renewals too but if you really worry the hassle of transferring the domain from different company to save you just a few bucks a year, I think you should focus on making more money.
