Not Getting EMail Subscribers

Hello Guys:

I started a fitness blog 20 days back. Slowly its getting traffic about 20-30 visits a day. However, no one is opting for the freebie I am offering and entering my email list. Not able to understand why? Is my freebie not good, freebie graphics not good? or anything else? I also have a popup domination popup initially. but nothing is working. Any inputs from you guys on this and what needs to be changed? By the way, my blog is Fitness Infinite - Fitness Is Not A Destination It's A Way Of Life. This is a new blog and just started backlinking, etc. Adding new content everyday. getting traffic slowly now and some traction in google. But no subscribers.

yeah try giving away something on weight loss or fitness since it's a fitness blog.

If you try to sell everyone everything you'll sell nothing to nobody. it's a terrible offer. Give away one report on something related to the contents of your site.

this happens a lot times for someone who is trying to do hard in terms of email marketing. With having 20 to 30 visitors per day. You must have killer content that can go viral. Also remember to promote your content to related niche everywhere on the web.

Your site is about 'fitness' and the logo and banner ad at the top make me think it's about weight lifting so give away something about 'getting fit' or weight lifting not 7 wildly different health problems ranging from arthritis to quitting smoking.

    There's a massive disconnect.

Your blog and content seem to be all over the place. No focus. You're trying to deliver content on everything 'health and fitness' it seems rather than focusing on something very specific.

Find a sub-niche or particular demographic / type of person to market to not everyone and anyone, I mean you have content on 'gym exercises for women' to 'healthy digestion' to 'great quotes'.

Who is it aimed at? Everyone and anyone? That will push people away not attract them.

I remember reading about the guy who runs NerdFitness.com spent a while with a generic and general fitness site and made no progress then as soon as he niched down to focus on 'fitness for nerds' he started to get a lot of traction and the blog took off.

Be more specific. Have an angle. Niche down. Focus on ONE type of person not many.

I can only agree with everyone else. Your offer and your audience are completely different.

Did you write those books yourself or download PLR ?

      Hello Guys:

Thanks for your valuable feedback. I agree, my freebie sucks and I need to give something related. These books are good, though PLR, but then it does not match with my blog. I will change it and see how it goes. Can you suggest some good freebies to give away in the fitness niche other than ebooks? This is a new blog and I know I have a long way to go. I am open to criticisms to improve my blog. User feedback is utmost important. Thanks

Ya, thanks. free Apps/software in fitness is a good option for a freebie than boring ebooks. Need to find if any are out there that can be given freely.

Also a great idea. If you're really stuck, another tip is to go to popular fitness blogs and see what they're offering as a freebie and download it yourself and read it. You can always unsubscribe after you've done it. Take notes on their free offer, and have a look at 10-20 other good blogs and see what they're doing.

Ya, great tip, thanks Simon. Instead of reinventing the wheel we can check popular blogs what they are offering as freebies and emulate their idea.

Sure. There's never any harm in learning (for free) from those who are already doing it well. Other blogs are a greats source of inspiration and ideas for your own posts too. All you need to do is make note of which posts are getting the most comments and interaction, and come up with something along the same lines.

No need to outright copy them, but it's brilliant way to come up with ideas.

I think your blog actually looks pretty decent. so no worries there.

As for the offer, you need to be looking at things along the lines of "Boost your workouts" or "Diet tips for fitness, etc etc...", or "How to increase muscle" and stuff like that.
I often turn to Amazon and have a good look at existing books and take ideas from them. You can use the "Look Inside" function to get an idea of what the top selling books in your niche are talking about. Don't copy them, but take a lot of notes and read the Amazon reviews for the top selling books in your niche. Reading reviews and taking note of what people liked and disliked can often write a book for you ! Don't forget, you only need to shoot for 20-30 pages in total for a freebie offer. Just make sure it's 20-30 pages of great content.

I am never sure about PLR. A lot of it is rubbish and needs a lot of work to rebrand it to your style. Don't forget, you have to build up a relationship with the people you want on your list, so please never ever offer rubbish just because it's free and doesn't take effort. I'd rather write one good ebook myself than offer 5 PLR's.

Be sure to get signed up to some RSS feeds for ideas and follow some top guys. One idea is to do a search on YouTube for some top fitness guys and get an idea of how they are marketing. I'd also agree with everyone else by changing the offer.
