How can I build my list? All help appreciated...

Hey guys! I'm a newbie Warrior, and i'd really appreciate some help. I recently coded a squeeze page that links to my blogging E-Book, and requires an email signup to acquire it. Can anyone tell me any methods that will help me build my list and let my site gain exposure? Here's the link to my website: Free E-Book . ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED!

the quickest way to build your list is through paid traffic such as PPC and buying solo's.

With PPC you really have to know what you're doing or could end up spending a lot very quickly.

Personally, I'm yet to try PPC but there's loads of info on here.

As for free methods, stuff like blogging, posting on forums within your niche etc will take a lot longer to build your list

I had the McAfee dangerous site warning (phishing threat) when visiting your site, so clear that up firstly, especially before you pay for traffic. People are going to turn and run if they have McAfee installed.

You can put a link using compelling copy (rather than 'Free Ebook') in your signature on Marketing Forums like this one. Record some tutorial videos for Youtube and link back to your book, guest blogging, articles, all of the usual stuff.

If you're paying, you can do PPC, Solo Ads, Banner Advertising.

Also make sure that you're corresponding with your list regularly from day one, even if you're growing slowly.

  • Hey MoneyStacker,

I assume you've tested many income generation strategies that can be integrated into blogging, and because you have yet to test mailing list building strategies that work, which is evident since you posted this thread -- You'll just package this as a follow-up offer to your would-be subscribers by the time you've tested certain mailing list building strategies that actually work? If so:

First, let's have some fundamentals nicely squared away. Let's put some tunnel vision goggles for now and focus on your niche and target audience. Your niche and target audience = You're in the make money online niche, and your target subscribers are work at home mommy bloggers, in the US, Canada, Australia and the EU I assume, among other countries where hiring childcare helpers and house maids cost a lot of money? These work at home mommy bloggers want to earn income online to possibly augment their family's monthly income while staying at home to take care of their kids and perform their other day to day activities in and out of their homes, I believe?

Second, use the things that you know about your niche and target audience to identify the online places where they hang out and expect to find useful information, advice, products and services that are relevant to your niche -- Niche-related Web forums with large active membership bases comprised of your target audience? Niche-related Facebook groups with large active membership bases comprised of your target audience? Other laterally relevant Web forums, Facebook groups, sites and blogs that get decent to good traffic, which is comprised of your target audience?

Third, know more about your niche and target audience -- Spend some time in those online places and study their related discussions, problems, needs, issues, concerns, your competitors in those online places and so on.

Fourth, at this point, use the things that you know about your niche and target audience to improve your offer, your site content, your squeeze page copy and your ad copies -- What could most likely grab their attention when they see it in the online places where they hang out, even when there are other things in those online places that are also competing for their attention? This should be the headline and relevant image of your ads. What could most likely entice them to click on your ads and read more about your offer? This should be your ad copy descriptions. What could most likely make them think and feel that you're a friendly expert resource of helpful info, advice, products and services in your niche? This should be your site content (as well as your direct participation in the online places where they hang out). What could most likely compel them to sign up to your mailing list so as to get your offer? This should be your squeeze page copy and your offer headline. What could most likely make them trust you enough to buy or even just to take a closer look at what you're selling and recommending? This should be your site content, offer, follow-up emails and follow-up offers. What could make them recommend you to their peers and talk about you, your site content, your offer, your follow-up emails, your follow-up offers and your products / services in their own blogs and in the online places where they hang out? These should be the benefits that they can get from your site content, from your offer, from your follow-up emails, from your follow-up offers, from your products / services or from your product / service recommendations.

Fifth, implement test PPC / PPM / private ad space rental campaigns in the online places where your target viewers hang out. Keep in mind to set a budget that won't put you in a complete state of poverty

*** For example: You can get the UIDs (user IDs) of the members of those niche-related Facebook groups with large active membership bases comprised of your target audience. Then, you can use these UIDs to build a custom audience that'll be the target audience of your test Facebook PPC / PPM ads...

This is what we've been doing for our traffic generation contracts with our clients, and a recent trial contract that we formulated and implemented for a new client has generated 92 clicks and 37 conversions and so far 8 $299/year sales (since conversion is a for a trial software download that expires in 30 days, while sales are for full annual license purchases) in the first three days of a Facebook PPC campaign using a custom audience that we created from the UIDs of members of niche-related Facebook groups with large active membership bases consisting of our client's target audience, and PPC cost for these first three days was $9.20 ($0.10/click). This campaign isn't in the make money online niche, so it's best for you to test things out in your niche and continue to invest, if not invest more, in the campaigns that give you the results you want...

    Hope this helps...

    Hey Money Stacker,

Bottom line with this is getting people to your website/blog and finding something to offer of value to the visitor in exchange for their email whether this is a free report, ebook, audio fles, video series or simply by having good content on your blog thats valuable to your readers and you engage with them in your comments and things. You deliver value to them so they want to stick around. Another good way to do this is the proven method of a squeeze page which details the reasons why somebody wants your free gift/report etc and in order to get it they must opt in.

My advice to you is to try different methods to getting people to opt in, such as try a squeeze page, try having one in the main sidebar to pages, try having a pop up one and also try one in a notification bar and then track your results with the traffic you get to your site but make sure that when people are on your subscriber list, look after them and engage with them regularly to keep their interest in you and above all, provide valued information.

If you want faster results then buy solo ads and take them to a free opt in offer. You can expect to pay anything upward of 40 cents a click but the quality of traffic will vary, another thing you will have to test.

Good luck and keep at it. A mailing list isn't built overnight.

First of all you need to do something other the same templates and headlines that all other newbie marketers are using. I don't want to learn how a broke single mom made thousands doing nothing, I want to find good solid advice that will help me grow my business.

Create value and get people who want to listen to what you're saying rather than trying to find newbies who are daft enough to buy into the same hype you have done.

Go deeper into the IM niche and pick out the bit you enjoy most and build a list around that. If you do this then you can become the expert, and experts in the small sub niches earn far more that those who are trying to sell "secrets"

do some research here in the forum re solo ads and maybe even sign up to safe swaps, and always check peoples reputation and testimonials before purchasing (there are a lot of scammers in the solo field)

just a note on your squeeze page, you should have you email submit on the 1st page rather than after the initial call to action.
