Help Gmail says I am spamming.

I have about 150 clients that I wanted to send a message to,
but when I sent only about 15 emails I get a message from
Google basicly saying my messages where rejected because
It looks like I am spamming. They say try using bulk mail. I don't
even know what bulk mail is.

Does anyone know of away I can just send out a few emails
with out this hassle? I am learning all about an autoresponder
but just want to send a few emails out now. I thought I
could use gmail but apparently just sending a few emails is spam
to them. I was going to try yahoo, but I may have the same
problems.

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you thought of trying Mailchimp? Promotional or sales emails should always have an unsubscribe link, which Gmail doesn't provide.

Hi I just want to send a simple email to some of my
clients. But Gmail won't let me send but maybe
      10 emails at a time.

Yeah, you need to use a bulk mailer... GetResponse, MailChimp, AWeber, etc.

There are also some Wordpress plugins you can use if you don't want to pay for a service - for a small list like that you should be fine just using your server's sendmail.

If you can get your clients on an auto-responder, you just need to send one email and it goes out to everyone there. Plus, the people who don't want to get your emails can take themselves off anytime.

      Humm...

I send an email occasionally to 20-some- team members using Gmail...
      never had a problem.

I do use bcc when I send (???)

gmail can be "odd" at times

Well, more or less thinking out-loud...

      Hope you get your situation...situated!

How did you get your clients' email addresses in the first place, if you don't mind me asking? Did they officially optin for something? Personally, I would never use gmail to bulk email anything. Any comment from them that you are 'spamming' should be taken very seriously by you. It's possible that a recipient has complained about your emails being spam. If you continue, without being sure about correct emailing protocol, unsubscribe link/address displayed etc, you may run in to more serious issues at a later stage.

It's not really about the number of emails that you send. You can send emails to 20 people and be fine with it but it sounds like perhaps some of the people you sent the emails to complained (hit the spam button) that you were spamming them.

The bad thing about what you are doing is that you do not give an option to the receiver on whether or not they can opt out from receiving your emails. So again, it's not about how many emails you send but about not using the right process.

PS. David (above) typed in his message at the same time I was writing, and he's pretty much correct.

I think the investment in an autoresponder (GetResponse, Aweber) is a must have if you are really serious about having any type of business online. While it does cost money, it would save you from frustrations such as this one.
