Help with WordPress Design (Recent Posts in Sidebar)

Hey guys, please see the attached picture.

My question is how do I add the featured image of the post to the recent posts widget? It's just displaying the link with text, would look a lot nicer with an image beside it.

    I would search at WordPress.org for a recent post plugin that will do it.

    Check this plugin out, https://wordpress.org/plugins/special-recent-posts/ . I have used it in the past and it worked like a charm.

    I guess I'm a cheater. I just use Scott Blanchard's ClickBump theme and that feature is built -in.
