Hello there,
I started promoting an offer recently. I did my market research. I also have a landing page to build an email list before they're taken to the offer.

Now in just a couple of hours I've gotten 40 clicks but no sales....(I'm using 7search for my ad source).

This landing page they're directed to has a 20-40% conversion rate. So what do I need to do in order to convert those clicks into sales?

I have the right keywords I believe. According to my market research, that is. What am I doing wrong?

How can I get these clicks or even a small percentage of them to convert into sales/profit?

thank you for all your help. It is greatly appreciated!

I would send 100 clicks, and if it still doesn't convert, try a different offer.

If you try a few offers and still nothing, I would consider an alternate traffic source.

Just my humble two cents, and I wish you nothing but the best.

    :]

    Good luck

      Mr. Sarevok,
I greatly appreciate all of the advice.. as I said in the above post one offer did go over 150 clicks easy and I made a few sales.... I brought in 200 but it was like a cliff and came to a grinding halt. I have no idea what happened.

All I want is to start making the kind of money that would allow me to quit my full time job and pay my debt.

Honestly, sir, is 7search going to (not help ALL the way) but at least get me started? Get the ground rolling?

      Thank you so much!

7 search traffic does not convert. Try another such as google or bing adwords.

Great! Thank you. That's what I've noticed so far...

      I appreciate it a lot!

I had an offer a week ago that pulled in 200.00..... I made multiple sales then it just died off completely. I have no clue what happened.

I agree. Have not had much luck with 7 search. They have a way for you to turn off certain traffic e.g. bot traffic but I didn't hang around long enough to learn it because I decided to build my list instead. Good Luck.

It depends on ad context - What they were exposed to before they arrived on your page. I'm assuming it's search-driven traffic, since you're using 7search. 40 clicks is frankly too small a sample to tell if an ad is failing or not. I personally let it run to at least 1000 clicks before I can estimate a reliable conversion rate.

Is your ad consistent with the message in your squeeze page? Sometimes, people click because they are genuinely curious in your offer - but if the squeeze appears disingenuous it can turn your prospects off.

Do you know copywriting? Frankly it's very hard to give a critique unless I can see the page. The main thing should be the following:

    > Don't use a curiosity headline, go with big-benefit + method headline
    > Fast delivery of benefits through bullets or video
    > Tell them exactly what they are getting
    > The squeeze page should be based off high-conversion designs - either ugly copy, LeadPages templates or the recently-popular "splash-type" pages.

If all fails, try another channel, as mentioned above lol.

        Who's earning the $7500/Month? I'm guessing it's not you.
Shouldn't you just click on your own ad and then follow "The mCommerce Blueprint"?

It's OK to promote a product that makes income claims, but only if those claims are accurate and verifiable.
If you think the claim is accurate shouldn't you be using the product yourself?
...and wouldn't that obviate the need for your original post?

If not... shouldn't you be promoting something else?

your claims sound impossible, and 7search is a 2nd or 3rd tier ad network, not a go to search engine like google, bing, yahoo, etc...

Their traffic quality is most likely low, especially for long tail keywords.

You probably considered them because they were cheaper than adwords. but their traffic is of a very low quality compared to search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, Ask, or even AOL which has about 1% of search engine traffic.

Have you looked at the incoming traffic and the sites they're coming from? odds are they are junk sites not related to your offer with no real establishment of any kind. They or it(bots) clicked on the headline of false hope, then once reaching the landing page they are promised more false hope directing them to click another link to find out more. For myself, that is a signal to close that tab immediately

May I know if the ad is exactly the same as your squeeze page?

If people are clicking through, it shows CTR, but conversions are a completely different matter...

As I see the above ad copy, the word 'FREE' will get some no value click for the ad, as the people want to see the FREE one and when the landing page asks some pay, simple they'll close off.

Better you remove the word FREE and add some kind of small investment needed to get start. So, before clicking the ad people knows there is some investment to get started and only interested people will click on, you may get some sales as well.

40 clicks to spot a trend. Avoid (even though it can be hard to do) knee-jerk reactions... wait till you get a decent size sample of data in and then decide if what you're doing is working or not... in 40 clicks sometimes it can just be a fluke

I would usually throw up at least 2 different ads for the same offer and then slowly tweak them, adding new ones and removing those that doesn't work. This way, you'll be able to tell whether that particular ad isn't working or not.

There seem to be a general consensus that 7search ads doesn't convert well, but if you still want to give it a go, I suggest testing with a few more ads to see if any of those converts. If they do, then perhaps the problem lies with the ad itself.

If you've done everything right and you still aren't making any sales, you need to switch to a different source of traffic. Your source of traffic can greatly impact your conversions.

The best traffic sources are real search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo. That's where most buyers do all their research before purchasing or signing up for anything.

Lets start with the offer, what kind of offer are you running? Are you split testing multiple ones? (That is very key.)

Also are you using a tracking setup? Blocking out bad referrers and bad keywords are key.

      Are you tracking everything?

If you want to get results with any type of marketing or advertising, then you need to test different things and track your results.

      Tracking is major important!

Let's say you get a sale from your 7search traffic... will you know from which keyword the sale came from? You might be using 10 keywords and just one of these keywords is profitable. If you use a tracking service you will be able to tell which keyword is profitable, without a tracking serice you can only guess.

If you split-test and track everything, you will increase your return of investment constantly.

I agree that your headline could use a little work. I haven't seen the page, so it's difficult to give you the exact reason why you're not converting.
It could be the actual traffic source, it could depend on what they're exposed to prior to coming to your website, but I can be the background as well. If that doesnt match your actual offer, it's enough for the visitor to hit the back button.
Also, check the conversion rate of the actual offer.
I do agree that a minimum of 10000 vitors will give you a better overview and that tracking will help you pin point on what to work on.

Even with a great source of traffic just 40 clicks is too early to make
any assessment of how well you are doing. Just think about it: If
your sales conversion rate is 5%, then the last 5 of the hundred visitors
could be the buyers (although not statistically likely). The point is
that you need a lot more traffic before you can determine if you
    are on the right track.

And how are you following up on these leads--those who do optin?
That's another crucial point as well.

First of all 40 clicks are very few to be able to draw conclusions, it normally takes at least 100 in order to see if your product is interesting or not, and then it is not so easy to convert a visitor into a customer with a simple page. No longer enough to write these things to sell, but there has to be a good sales funnel, and especially what you write must be true!

My advice is to do a great sales funnel, buy more traffic and then work also with email marketing! With your page can the visitor subscribe to your mailing list?

Because when he'll subscribe to you, you can sell with your email.

Let it run. Assess after 100-200 clicks.

Use split testing software to test, refine and tweak.

Start small with a select few keywords that are laser targeted to your audience.

If you still don't get sales, try Facebook ads.

    Give value first, then pitch.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[9413138].message }}
  • That very same thing happened to me plenty of times and usually it is due to the fact that your keywords are not really targeted the way they should be.

    Hi,

    1. Those people DON'T KNOW YOU!

    2. Are you asking them to commit to something too early?

    3. Are they getting INSANE VALUE?

    4. What price are you asking them to pay?

    5. Could you offer a LOW RISK trial?

All of these questions need to be put into the melting pot before making any
    rash decisions.

Have you driven enough traffic to this offer yet?

You could set up 2 different offers and send the same amount of clicks
to them to see which one comes out on top.

Let me add a little bit extra tip to you that you can make use to improve your traffic, click and conversion.

Split test. This can help you increase your sale not by 2 x or 4x. Can increase 10x or more if you keep doing it.

Create 2 ads and compare which one do better. Then take the winner and split test with new ads and keep doing it. Some time you can do a little tweak or a words will make a difference.

Very effective for me. Hope this will work for you.

    All the best.

7search is very tempting for most people who are starting out in PPC. And while I have heard of people getting good quality traffic from there, in most cases it seems that unless you are super dialed in the traffic is not worth it.

Stick with the big boys for PPC (Google, FB, Etc). And don't be afraid to contact them and ask them questions.
