Help please! Godaddy Weird Email

A few hours back I received an email from GoDaddy. It says as following-

Dear Valued GoDaddy Customer.

"Your account contains more than 382 directories and may pose a potential performance risk to the server.
Please reduce the number of directories for your account to prevent possible account deactivation.

In order to prevent your account from being locked out we recommend that you create special tmp directory.

Or use the link below:
https://mya.godaddy.com/common.aspx?...**************

Sincerely,
GoDaddy technical support. "

I however clicked the link and a "Save" button appeared and clicked that thought it ended with no confirmation or any error message.
I have more than 10 domains in my account and it is completely frustrating to get an email that contains words like "possible account deactivation" !

Help appreciated.
Thanks

Do you have a hosting account with them as well? It would seem this would refer to files or some other problem with your hosting account using up too many resources on their server.

I've never heard of anything that related to "directories" when it comes to just having domains with them. IMO it's a phishing attack. They are trying to gain access to your GoDaddy account.

Since you did click on that link I would now recommend scanning your computer for malware, spyware, viruses, etc. The reason I say this is two years ago I got an email similar to that regarding my Skype account. When I opened the email and clicked the link inside, it downloaded a virus onto my machine that wreaked havoc for two weeks. I ended up having to take my computer to a professional to be cleaned. It was a nightmare.

Also, call GoDaddy as soon as possible and verify whether or not they sent that email.

Thanks for help guys. I have changed my GoDaddy password. For some reason, I don't wanna call them on phone. I would like to get their chat support. Can you please tell me why doesn't the GoDaddy online chat box pop up when I visit GoDaddy page? And how do I chat with them ?

Do you have an ad or pop up blocker on your browser? Have you tried the Godaddy chat function on another browser that has no blocker plug ins? This might be one solution. Also, if you saved anything to your computer after clicking a suspicious link in an email, I would suggest scanning your computer for malware or viruses.

Calling them is a lot quicker and more efficient than their chat. There isn't a long wait normally and they are very good usually at customer service on the phone and take care of the problem.
