Many of us are preoccupied with the thought of becoming successful one day or be in a hurry to be successful within the span of days.. We are interested in somebody's story of success, without asking how did this successful person reach the peak of the mountain of success..

One of my favorite quotes is "dare to fail." We learn from our success, but we learn more from our failures. I am just starting in the IM business and definitely curious on other people's IM journey..

These questions are asked to everybody, especially to the successful IMers out there..

How Did You Fail? And for how long did you force yourself to continue and go on despite challenges in your IM journey?

Common, he asked how you have failed on your way and not about some wise words.
There`s nobody out there who never has failed and we all went on our ways and we all fell down and learned. You don`t come out from your mums womb saying: "You only fail if you think you will fail"
I failed many times on my way but I wouldn`t call it failure though. It feels more like a learning process (and I had to learn seeing it like this as well)
And I continue learning everyday. I am always open for new stuff and try out many things but - I learn something new eveyday.
Best regards to all of you learners
      Cheers

In my opinion, failure is just a stepping stone to success.

I´ve failed about million times on IM trying all kinds of hyped up scams and lost money in the process...But I never gave up.

I decided to go forward and find what works. I used to say "Okay, this didn`t work, I´ll try something else and I will never, ever, ever give up!"

Failing isn`t a big deal. Learn from it, go forward and never give up!

I like this.. We should be equipped with this mindset once we've decided to topple the walls of uncertainties blocking our IM journey.

I have failed so many times when I got started in IM. Let's just say that it took me about 4 long years to finally earn a decent full time income online. When I did earn a good income, I wasn't like others who quit their jobs. I actually was laid off so when my boss told me that I will be laid off, I kind of laughed at his face and told him that I really don't need this job anyway because my internet business is doing well.

That was a great feeling but don't forget that it took me 4 years of trial and error to make it.

If you persist and never give up, that should be your best weapon if you want to succeed online.

Whooah! 4 years! To think I am only in my first year learning about IM..
Anyway, Thank You man.. I need every now and then to read stories like this just to keep me motivated.. I am now at a crossroad between giving up and moving on.. It seems that the practical choice is to move on and never give up..

I am not saying that you should wait 4 years to succeed online. I know a guy online who made it full time after 5 years. There are many people that it took them less then 6 months to make a full time income.

To fail means that you did not take any action to begin with. But taking action and then not being successful is just a stepping stone of great things to come. I have failed many times. But each time I learn from it and get stronger. When you talk to all of the really big IM - in there books and speeches they always talk about there failures along the way. So in my book, its ok to fail. Because that means success is just around the corner.

My dad pointed out today that I hadnt made any money in any of the businesses I operate. I said dad. I try and I fail. I try and I fail. Then I have tried and failed again. But only once do I need to succeed. Never stop. Never quit. If you are a true entrepreneur your goal in life is to build businesses. After one takes off you use it to make your other ideas take off and not before long your sittin on a beach somewhere you have never heard of sippin a margarita or mai thai and making the hardest decision of your new life. Do I go jet skiing today or sailing??? hmmmm

A year ago I closed down a startup that cost me $1.3 million. That was my life savings, obviously. I tried to go up against Craigslist. Craigslist won. As you might imagine, losing well over a million bucks can be hard on your marriage.

Though I strongly advocate failing early and often, that one spooked me. I have been studying IM seriously for a year. I have created a product, a good one. But I am still shellshocked. Taking coordinated action has been a problem this past year.

Whoa! of course failure is not the end of the world. You should treat failure as your second greatest learning tool...

You'll come to find that you learn more from your mistakes and failures than you do from success. The reason you achieve success is because you've wizened up from your previous failures.

      Take Thomas Edison for example...

He failed like 5,000 times trying to create the light bulb. And people would always ask him why he keeps trying after all the times he had failed...

And you know what he said?

He told them, "I have not failed. I've just found 5,000 ways that don't work. Each set back has made me wiser. I'm closer to success now than I was when I began"

You see, failure should not be treated like it's so disastrous. Treat it as an event in which you can discover something valuable. Failure forces you to be creative and find alternate solutions to your problems. And that's what entrepreneurs do better than everyone else!

      Hope that helps

I totally agree. I have learned some big lessons from some big failures and mistakes. It used to get me very down but my attitude has changed tremendously as of this year. You learn and move on. Put them in the past. Don't let the past haunt you.

Consistency! That is what has gotten me in the past is not being consistent. All of the other factors worked themselves out when I learned to be consistent and take small steps towards my goal Every Day.

I had an online community with over 70,000 members, 3 years ago! Being young and amateurish and not knowing anything in the world of Internet Marketing, I sold it! And for peanuts as well. (Compared to what I could have squeezed out of it, knowing what I know now)

And in my opinion, not focusing on one thing at a time really messes you up.

I've been doing IM for quite a while but only made a handful of sales. I'd call that a failure. Usually when I go for a while to no success I give up for a while but never forever. I usually get overwhelmed but eventually I always get back into it. Besides, right now IM and online writing is about all I got.
