Father or Mother???

Both played an equally important role in my life, and today what I am is because of them.

Both of them. You are not here in this world without them. Put an equal value to your mother and father.

Both of them. They both have their responsibilities in molding their child's character.

Both my parents played a strong role in my life. I wouldn't change a thing in the way I was raised as well.

When a human being grows up, the most influential and dedicated part of their life is their parents. Both of them are loving, kind, caring for their kids. Above all, mother deserves the most respect as she is the one who usually take care of her child for 24 hours.

Both of my parents have played a role and shaped me to become the independent person I am today. Although I believe I have the mindset that is more similar to my fathers.

Both. In some questions father shaped my opinion, in particular regarding independence (financial and emotional), in some life situations I listen to what my mother says.

My mother played key role in my life. Her love and affection is amazing. I give respect to my mother even more than god.

my Mother, she is a strong woman, first because she had the courage to leave my abusive dad, and not put up with his crap when i was only 3 years old. She did not want us children to grow up in an abusive envirionment.

So she was a single mom raising two kids, my hats off to single mom's, you are amazing!

I would say my mom played the most important role. But not so much as a kid growing up.

I feel now she is way more important than ever as she really shows me what motivation is all about. She used to drink quite a bit, but now she is just amazing. She hasn't drank in more than 3 years, she rides a bicycle nonstop everyday (next week she's riding on a 40 mile trip!) and she goes to the gym all the time. She's really blown me away with how much she has changed.

And with that change, comes my self-change. I used to be very shy, I didn't have friend, nor did I even want any friends. Honestly I was the "nerd" that did bad in school. I hated everything around me. But over the last few years I have majorly changed in many ways and I can say my mom has helped out a lot in that process

P.S. I don't like using the word "mother" as she is a "mom". A "mother" in my eyes is more biological, whilst a "mom" is that person you love and care dearly for.

My mom spent years telling me that I was a worthless pathetic stupid loser, and I thank her for it.. because I know what NOT to say to my kids! She told me i would never amount to anything, and I am dead set and determined to prove her wrong.

I am sorry to hear that. I can actually relate.

When I was in high school I was introduced to a career counselor. Instead of pushing me and saying that I could do anything, it was suggested that I should take a job doing labor, construction, or working for a restaraunt.

My teachers never expected me to get anywhere (well a few were supportive, but the majority weren't), they continually pushed me into thinking I wasn't worth anything. And I began to believe them.

During middle school and onto the end of high school I had an extremely low self esteem. I actually hated my life to be honest. I never thought I would ever succeed at anything because of how people looked down on me.

I graduated in 2008 with one of the lowest GPA's in my entire class. Heck, I barely passed.

Now I can say I dealt with 2 major life changing events. My first brother passed away with cancer in my junior year of high school, while my second brother passed away 2 days after my graduation. I was really screwed up for quite a while too.

But in time I began to realize that little things don't matter. I stopped worrying so much about what people think about me. I started helping people and pushing others to be better.

Unlike those that put me down and bullied me in high school, I rose up and I try to make others feel awesome about themselves.

If you tell me you aren't anything, you're wrong. You probably have so much more to offer this world. So I definitely want to see you succeed dude Don't EVER let anyone put you down or make you feel bad for what you believe in.

Oh and just to clarify, even with everything I dealt with in high school (there were many other things as well effecting my life), I now own multiple business's and have built a foundation of more than 130 sites (have to update my Warrior forum status, ha!).

So never give up. Keep pushing. And again. NEVER let anyone put you down. But if they do, don't worry You'll prove them wrong in due time.

My mother is my main teacher. I learned from her how to lead life and be a complete genteel man. My father also me helped me for becoming successful in my life.

My mother played an important part in teaching me about hard honest work, but my uncle is the one that drove me to become who I am.
All my dad did was teach me who not to be.

I would have to say both, I know most of the time the Father always leave the Mother and it's really sad... Although, having a dad he can be very hard on you but having a Father around tells you that you have to be a man. Your dad is basically the head of the house, then comes your mom she shows affection. Without your parents, they wouldn't have you and there's nothing above them!

I can say my mother becuase most of the time she really understand me how I feel, what my needs...

I am more close to my mother becuase she is more sensitive about my feelings than my father.

Both....they equally play the important role in my life. I can't be with what and who I am now without their love and support.

My father is my #1 mentor. He was a business owner since I was born. He always put in a lot of hard work. He is the one who inspired me the most. "Thanks Dad".

My Mother was always supportive of what I wanted to do. My Father, on the other hand, believed that you get a good job at a big company and stay there until you retire. He couldn't understand why I wanted to go to college when I had such a good job. He eventually came around and accepted that I wanted more out of life.

He meant well; those were his beliefs. He was a good provider, and my mother was my greatest ally. I miss them both.

My Father was the one who really made the biggest impact on my life. Although I was just a teenager when he died, I can remember one conversation that totally changed my way of viewing things forever. He taught me not to be part of the problem, but to be part of the solution. He taught me one very huge skill, and that was to take action. It was not merely enough to be upset over a situation, you had to find the answer, take action, and then the outcome could be different. He always strived to be a better person and challenge himself to learn more. He was quite a man, and I am sorry that we did not get more time together, as I am sure there would have been a great deal to learn from him. But I will be forever grateful for the seeds he planted in my brain, and for giving me the tools I needed to lead a productive life.

I once would have said my Mother....but the older I get, the more I realize the impact my Father had on my character....strange.

My parents were young when they got married and were forced by their parents to do so because my mother was pregnant with me.

They never got along but they each showed me a tremendous amount of love growing up and still today.

When they divorced I was relieved instead of sad. I knew early on that they were happier apart than they were together.

I still saw my dad every day and I spent the weekends with him. He put forth the effort to be present in my life.

He never missed a birthday, graduation or any other special event.

So, if I had to choose, I'd have to say my dad probably strengthened my character the most.

Parents play a big role in every individuals life. Each individual have got something to pick from both parents (dad / mums).

Both parents are pretty equal but I have to hand it down to my father. My dad has pushed me through a lot of hard times when I felt like giving up or not trying at all and if it wasn't for him, I don't know if I'd be where I am today. Mother's usually play the role of the nice parent and then fathers are usually the strict ones who apply discipline and that's basically the type of household I grew up in. But yeah my dad has really inspired me to strive and be a successful individual.

For me, both of them. They've been my hero. countless time I can proved that they have mush inspiration to my life. Because of them I would not be here where I am now.

He always says short advice, but I dobn;t know why, her short advice always have deep impact in me.

I say both. No matter what or how much are the shortcomings of any of our parents, the point is that without one of them, we would have never existed.

In my case it was mostly my mother, she has truly inspirational and motivated me in everything that I do!

My mother has been the voice of reason for me. She has a lot of life experience and is like the "YODA" in MY life.

Father taught me all about taking risks while the mother was very protective and sheltered my siblings and I. We had balance.

My mother would have out of the two but I find that I'm more akin to my grandparents then I am my parents. I would say I've learned the most from my Grandparents and Television. I know that may sound a little of but it's true. My parents had me young and they just weren't ready to have a kid so I got left i front of a T.V. from day one pretty much. My cable raised me.
