    I usually ignore this thing but I am impressed by Sainsburys offer of a 40" LCD TV for £149.

        That's the way I feel about it, too. I'm guessing our local walmart parking lot is jammed today. It was yesterday, too. Disgusting. Our whole town shut down other than a few gas stations, one bar where the bartender probably had as much fun as the local patrons, and a couple convenience stores.

        And Walmart. I drove through town and was proud our local merchants honored a holiday for their employees. Then at the end of town - Walmart. And the parking lot was jammed. So I drove down the road to the parking lot accesses, thinking it was a protest. Wrong. It was drooling stupid consumers that couldn't go one damned day without shopping.

        What the hell kind of brainwashing did they do to these people?

          The only thing I can think of is the nut doesn't fall far from the tree or values start at the head and trickle down, meaning look at the head of this country and you'll realize why money means more than anything else.

          Yes, it's sort of veiled, but I'm sure you get what I mean.

    I run a UK based Black Friday website (try the hashtag #BlackFridayUK - you'll find me).
    Not buying much myself, but enjoying the mad dash in the UK for Big TVs, tablets and drones - yes drones.

    I think they're the top 3 items on this side of the pond.

    Interestingly, as a little aside, I was in my local city yesterday and noticed that even Brazil has gone Black Friday mad this year.
    Bless'em, most Brazilians can't even pronounce the name and have no idea what it's about. But they love shopping, so I guess they're queuing up in the sun for a cheap pair of last year's trainers...

      Just ordered a totally maxed-out iMac to replace my aging Mac Pro. It has the new 5K monitor which is an astounding thing of beauty.

      They really should bill this machine as the $5K iMac and not the iMac 5K, since by the time you are finished configuring it, the bill comes to $5K.

      A bargain, though. When I configured the new Trashcan Mac Pro to my precise liking, it was an $11k machine, so no matter how you look at it I saved $6K. I'm becoming quite prudent in my old age. lol

      Got a new iPhone 6 Plus, also. Sweet!

    I'm thinking it's more than that. This isn't normal herd mentality at all. People get killed on black Friday. This appears to be worse than brainwash. It's starting to look like more of a mind control experiment. We do have around 150 US registered patents for that goal.
