So I'm just sitting down to dinner, lobster fajitas, if you must know and the Emergency Broadcast System comes on and says that there are tornadoes in my area. OK. I've heard that before, but have never seen one. Then the guy says three words I have never heard before. "Seek immediate shelter." Are you kidding me. I said lobster fajitas, dude!

Scary stuff.

Cheers. - Frank

Stop eating them and pile them up against the main entrance to your house, then you will have a Lobster Firmer-Door and won't suffer from Whirl Wind so much.

OK. I thanked you when you posted this in an effort not be be rude, but I will honestly admit that after reading it for around the 10th time, I just got it.

With that said, I'm considering removing my thanks. It was that bad! lol

        I still don't get it.

Do you have to be a lobster connoisseur to understand it? I don't like lobster, it has a nasty after taste.

Or do you have to know about the different brands of doors? Not my thing either.

There's a french dish called lobster thermidor. I'm not sure what the Whirl Wind connection to lobster is.

crazy weather everywhere - here we are having a cooler than normal summer so far - which I'm actually loving - I can do without the high heat/humidity, thank you very much - so happy I have not had to plug in my portable air conditioner yet - been using fans and they don't use up so much hydro - so far I still have low hydro bills

glad that big Frank and family are safe - that's all that matters -don't like to hear anyone getting hurt or worse from the wrath of Mother Nature

Tornadoes were common where I grew up. We'd get the report then go sit outside and watch for them.
From what I understand there was little damage in Mass - although there are a few power outages.

Hey Frank............did ya look outside? Ya wouldn't want to miss that old lady on the bike flying by.

Alive and well, after an emergency changing of my undies. I have witnessed a lot of bad weather in my life, but this was the topper. We simply do not get this type of storm around here. You could feel concussion waves from the thunder and the lightning strikes were incredible with hardly a gap between them. It was like something out of a movie.

My last dog, Baby, would tremble at the sound of any thunder at all. Honey never batted an eye. I mean she was totally oblivious. I was the one trembling and like I said, crapping my pants. lol

Lots of downed trees, many homes without power, Mine came back on at 4:30.

What's amazing now is today is going to be an incredibly beautiful day. Temps in the mid-80's, not a cloud in the sky and low humidity.

My mom who is almost 90 is up from Florida, staying with my sister.. We are going to pile into the car, put the top down and head out for lunch at a great raw bar in Cape May. I'm wondering just how many ice cold Cherrystones one man can eat? I'll let you know the answer to that question, upon my return, late this afternoon.

You folks have a great day.

      Cheers. - Frank

You do realize that it's Big Frank your talking to, correct?
I can only imagine how frightening that must have been!
Well, I'd call it 'scary.' I reserve frightening for my first encounter with a mirror in the morning. :-)

Yes. I'm really looking forward to it. Just washed the car and they'll be heading for my house in around an hour. My mom is a total sweetheart.
          Enjoy the clams!
That question I asked about how many clams can one man eat? Well, I don't know the answer to that, but I do know that whatever the number is, it's a few less than my mom can put away. She's an animal. lol

This sounds exactly like what happened to us last Thursday. A storm the likes I've never seen came out of nowhere, lasted about 20 minutes, and left devastation in its wake. Power was out for a little less than a day. Every - and I mean every - street in my development was blocked by downed trees, large evergreens and oaks. There are still tree crews cleaning everything up today.

The funny thing was I've never seen so much foot or car traffic on my street until about 15 minutes after the storm. It looked like we were having a block party. And then, right at the peak of foot traffic - BAM! - the storm came raging back. People scattered like cockroaches when the lights come on.

Glad you're safe, Frank. You don't seem like one for a Dorothy-esque ending.

          Now that we're sharing...

The same thing happened to us Monday night, well, early Tuesday morning, abot 2:30 a.m.

The storm hit and we had the window at the head of the bed and the window on my side of the bed both open as it was 87 degrees that day.

I awoke to a super sonic boom, a flash of light and feeling the reverberations of power coming in waves hitting me.

I jumped up because I thought the house next door had exploded, seriously. It poured buckets of rain and when I got up, crews were cutting up trees that had fallen across the road all up and down it.

          Very strange!

It scared the heck out of me because I usually love summer storms.

Yep, all part of the same system, most likely. And that wasn't a summer storm. It was a summer STORM.

After that, I can't imagine what people on the coast live through.

Frank, scary as heck is right! I've been there!

My problem is that I never want to take cover because I want to see them and always end up being dragged to safety by my son or hubby. I can't help it, those things mesmerize me!

Anyway, I'm tickled pink that you and your pets and your food are okay.
