New Forum Layout RATE or HATE?

It looks less busy right now, but the only thing I don't like is the space between.

Me thinks they are tinkering with the site making some changers behind the curtain

FYI Not all the Warriors get to the new site changers up front only select few.

Anyway I don't see the ads as the blocker removes them , but I am missing my envelope for the PMs

Good on a tablet, but not impressed on desktop, so far. I run AdBlock so I never see them.

Right now, it's hard to find anything. Like where the posts are that I've replied to. Gotta dig for them 5-6 clicks deep.

Looks fine. But yea, I don't see any ads either.

looking good from old design i really like it this layout.

WF's Layout is simple and I didn't see any ads on the site because used Adblock Plus.

Also it is not responsive, when my browser resized smaller, I could not see my user profile on the right side [Hate this]

I would learn layouts from this forum Webmaster Sun - The Largest Webmaster Forum & Marketplace and showing ads even I am using Adblock Plus.

I really like and appreciate the new design. Its looking Good.

Some of us may again have to get used to the new layout

Having Said that i can see the Ads on the top

and there is no way people will stop buying ads because Ads do convert pretty well here

Like the new design. It looks simple and clean.

Layout is simple and I like it.

Would like the PM to be on top bar...it is easier to access. But overall it looks less busy.

It's okay apart from there is no icon for accessing the PM box.

The PM envelope will be making a definite come back tomorrow morning AEST.

With response to the navigation. You'll shortly see a way to customize your feed adding topics that you are interested in. By default your feed will only include discussions in these topics. You will be able to filter for all topics if you wish or only specific topics if you want to browse say the 'internet marketing' section.

The notification bell is broken and basically useless at this point. Here are a couple things:

1. If you are replying to a post and you click the bell then the X to close it, the screen jumps to the top of the thread. The focus shouldn't leave where you are writing.
2. Threads open up in a new window and there is no reason for it. Nothing else here works that way and it's distracting for this to work that way.
3. I'm showing 1600+ notifications but can only see the first few. There is a disconnect here.
4. When a thread is seen, the bell shouldn't still show as having new posts in that thread.
5. Viewing the list clears the red notification but if you click a thread, the new window shows the red again even though nothing new has happened. The cookie or setting or whatever ought to work across windows since that is how it's designed.
6. There should be an option in the subscriptions settings to turn it off just like you can turn off email notifications of new replies to threads.

The email notification spacing issue hasn't been resolved yet even though someone mentioned they were looking into it.

The feed has too many issues to go into right now. I've shared some of them with Alaister before.

Bottom line: What made this forum great wasn't the design. It was the content and the people that were here. This design redo won't return the forum to its previous glory - only handling the content and people issue will. I'd much rather see the time and effort spent on those things and then do the redesign but that's just me and I know I don't get a vote.

Edit: 7. The bell always shows 10+ even when there is only 1 new notification out of my 1600+.
8. A refresh of the window makes the bell red again even though nothing has been added in that half a second.

not bad but it's a big change and not in sync with the lean startup model or incrementation changes...
i would never do that, better go with A/B testing small changes

I see the ads!

I am loving this new Layout! ... I can see the awesome evolution of the Warrior Forum!

Yet another Warrior Forum new layout. Nothing changes except the layout and that changes all the time. Does it make any difference in anything? Not really.

I liked it better when alla my stuff was dead center.

Strung up there in the distant right hand corner, I feel like an unwanted bat in an abandoned church.

Also — cannot see my PMs.

Some of the top drop down links have a bad case of the shakes.

I think it's like 'fiddling while Rome burns'.

On the PM notification, I've received 2 new ones. When I refresh or come to the site I get the pop up box saying I have a new PM but the envelope doesn't light up. Didn't it use to light up when there were new or unread PMs?

I dislike it.
I do not need the obtrusive search bar, as the search function stinks anyway. The last time I tried it, there was still no way to search for exact matches to a multiword phrase.
I dislike the obtrusive social media icons on the left margin, as I have no use for them.
I disparage this interminable tinkering with the appearance of the site while ignoring other factors contributing to its downward spiral.
It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

Another thing I don't like is that my daily forum activity now takes longer for the same result. I use the New Posts function almost exclusively to browse the forum. By moving it to the very top instead of just above the posts, makes me scroll up more than I had to.

Also I doubt I will use the Feed and I see the newest WSOs through the New Posts button so I don't need that.

I use to be able to click my name to get into my profile but now I have to click the down button and choose Update Profile - 2 clicks instead of one.
