Just throwing this out there if you want to learn about this hated product by Microsoft.

If you want to read about Windows Vista and it's problems from the Inside. Here is a decent article. It is a long read but gives a lot of details of why the platform had so many issues.

Here is the link to the article - https://blog.usejournal.com/what-rea...e-f713ee77c239

Here is some quotes taken from the article.
"Vista was, by all measures, massively more secure than any earlier OS shipped by Microsoft ". "Customers hated it because their apps broke and ecosystem partners hated it because they felt they didn't have enough time to update and certify their drivers and applications as Vista was rushed out the door to compete with a resurgent Apple. "

"There were so many seismic shifts happening in the computing industry during those years -- the advent of the internet, the rise of the mobile phone, the emergence of cloud computing, the creation of new ad-supported business models, the viral growth of social media, the relentless march of Moore's law, the maturation of 64-bit computing, and the popularity of open source are just a few factors that assaulted Windows from all directions. Do you know how to get the latest version of Photoshop to work on Windows 95? Ebay sells Windows 95 for only $149.

I'm still looking to see how it works with Windows 3.1.

I've heard Photoshop can run on ColecoVision with the steering wheel. I need this working.

Atari actually had a computer (I wanted it). I remember seeing it in a local Kmart store in the early 1980s. That was back when Kmart didn't have any competition. They also sold jam boxes, color TVs and velcro shoes.

                  Good stuff.

I sold Atari Computers in a small computer store in the 80's. The 800/400 series and the 16 bit Atari ST.

Always liked the Commodore Amiga better than the Atari 16 bit. Owned one, superb machine.

Atari ST had a niche in music production though. I always teased musicians about it, you have thousands of pounds worth of mixing desks, professional grade keyboards, guitars, drums etc..yet you run it all on a kids computer. People cried when their ST broke down.

I had no problems either waited for it to be out 1 year and upgraded one computer to it. The computer was used daily at work. The only time their were issues was the software companies were slow to update to the product. A call to tech support always led to some interesting comments. Some would give the tech guys a fit, others liked the product.. Currently running windows 10 on a desk top and laptop.

Seriously, the one thing that's extremely awesome about Win10 is leaving my projects (ex: files, folders, browser session, etc...) open and being able to shut down and start back up where I left off the next day.

This really helps stay in the same mindset when working on projects that take days/weeks.

Gee, l came here thinking that we were going to talk about the competitor that will remain nameless, but if l mention an overpriced, doorstop that expells toxic fumes, needs a glue gun for repairs and has just enough memory to send an email l wouldn't be far from the truth.

As for the rest, XP is good, 7 is very good, don't know much about Vista, apart from bad things, and 10, if you love the color blue you are set for life.

But Windows 9, does exist, so W10 s,....owners have another option.

Adobe obviously doesn't support Photoshop on Windows 9 so how do you make it work?

I have Windows 7Pro, and adobe fits that OS like a glove, especially when updates are permanently turned off.

I expect that it would be fine with 9, since it is fine with XP.

The reason the thread was posted because it is intereting to learn how these products were designed and than delivered to the end user. They even rushed it out the door to compete with Apple as was quoted in the first post. Most people hated the product. That is why it is interesting to see what happens behind the scenes

Would be interesting to read how Windows 10 came about, but than again it was a better solution for the Windows 8 fiasco. FYI have you ever looked to see if Google can do something similar to your adobe ? Just curious.

And not aware that Google has anything, last l read they were giving Google Music another shot, after several failed attempts.
