I was watching a dreadful movie.

Small Soldiers.

The woman on the sofa next to me was a beautiful 10.

I asked her to date me.

Goodness knows why, but she said yes.

That's a favourite memory.

Fast-forward almost 20 years.

We've just had breakfast together.

last time i had luck with a perfect 10.. she wasn't so perfect in the morning after those 10 beers wore off ..

my favorite memories though ..um.. can't share those in open chat.. and i don't rememer much before 30 .. it all blends togeth as the same crap happened over and over ..

Mine was when I found out that Johnny Carson had died. My whole family was gathered together, and when we heard the news...we all broke down in tears. It really affected our lives. Carson was very important to us. I'll never forget that day, and the pain we felt...our sense of loss.

  On another forum that Claude frequents I have a 30 page thread chronicling the Mandela Effect. I study it and chronicle the best of the ones put forward, Claude criticizes them and calls me insane.
  
  99 percent of the alleged phenomenon reported is simply misremembering, confabulation, lack of prior knowledge or ignorance on the subject.
  
  However, that leaves one percent that are not.How did I get into this?
  
  In 2015 I noticed that JCPenny had gained an "e" making it "Penney" and "Home Depot" had gained a "The" prefix, making it "The Home Depot" This rather happened overnight.
  
  Thinking at the time that It was a strange marketing ploy on both counts and thinking no more of it. It was not until 2017 that I learned about the alleged ME and both these were in the top ten noticed..you will understand..it peaked my interest.You look back at the history and see the photos of JC Penney from 1908 and "The Home Depot" from 1977
  
  I have a few photo's that contradict that however, how these remained if history was altered, I cannot explain.
  
  Since that happened I have found a bunch of others I totally agree with and many I do not.
  
  I maintain that it is a genuine phenomenon just based on the few. No explanation of why and how though.
  
  I look at 99.9 percent of conspiracy theories and just laugh at them. This one caught my eye.
  
  As to Nelson, he got out of jail, did a speech at an South African Rugby match , later became president and died in 2013. The very name it was christened with holds no memory for me.

  I see you mentioned the Mandela Effect and thought perhaps you would like to hear my story..you see it all started back in 2015 when I was working on Japanese Whaling ships. During a vacation I entered a Japanese Mall and looked up at a store sign and it said Chong Chang Ching. It had been Ching Chong Chung all my life, so why did they change it.? Strange marketing ploy I thought.

I remember that day too.I had just re-ordered 1000 "Free Nelson Mandela" T-Shirts to sell on my website.

My most profound memory was hearing about the untimely death of Claude Whitacre in a freak Bungee Jumping accident. The resulting crater left in the ground caused a localised earthquake killing 72 people.

Feelings of elation quickly turned to sadness. and even more sadness when it was later reported that the Bungee chord had held and his jump had just coincided with a meteorite impact.

I know who Mandela was.. and i learned of the effect a year before i saw it talked about on this forum ..

basically.. it as you say a function of misremembering.. or the fact each time we remember something we tend to just remember the last time we remembered it ..

i can see why it would draw interest though .. being we live in a staged reality being simulated inside a computer .. haha ..

staged reality ok..doubtfully on the simulation in a computer part.. but we simulated many things in out own brains to function on the planet..

I really do not have any favorite memories ..because so much stuff didn't really happen how i remember it ..or i only remember a small part of something that happened and the each time the i hear more about and event i get a bit more of it ..

plus i grow ever less tied to the past ..it sucked for the most part .. and i live more in the future i want than the past that had to suck bad enough in certain places to force me to take steps for my now and future not to suck ..and actual be better in many cases and potential real great

It was a small action that had a big impact on me. My ex mother in law was terrified of dogs. One day when she was visiting us she was sitting at the kitchen table and she bent over from her chair and gave my Rottweiler a big hug.

Both my ex and I both commented about it after and at the time I knew I had raised my rottie the right way.

It's funny how little moments like these can make us smile many years latter.

When I was 11 years old I spotted two girls swimming in their backyard pool. The girls were twins and three years older than me. Climbed a tree bordering their backyard fence to get a better look. Fell into their backyard and broke my arm. That is how I met them (good thing) and how I met their dad (not a good thing).

Over the years the girls and I became close friends if you know what I mean (good thing), When they were in college I took both of them to my High school Senior Prom (good thing). When I joined the service guess whose father was my Unit Commander? Not a good thing at all, but not a bad thing either lol.

Would I do it all over again? Yepper. Minus their Dad? No, he set my broken arm when I was a kid and later became the Great Godfather to my son.

BTW, one of the two sisters also has twins and a little older than my son

No jokes Claude, you have been dead for the last 5 years, and been haunting this forum for as long as you have been dropping donut crumbs on your keyboard and began typing, (or imagined that you did).

We all saw, "I Will Slay Anyone, For $5" some time ago, and after an intensive charity drive, that lasted a good 30 seconds, took out the gig.

Well after some discussions, we all paid $10, since we wanted the torture by throwing you in a large dungeon, underground with bubble-wrap on the floor and ceiling, and a large box of moldy pink icing donuts, for the slow and painful part.

We almost paid $20 for the 24 hour Justin Beiber playlist, on the 10 speakers but decided that that was too inhumane.

Barry Manilow would suffice.

My favorite memories
Waiting for the school bell to ring.
Rushing to get a window seat in the car/bus.
Waiting for the ice cream man on hot summer days.
Spending the entire day watching cartoons.
Yearly holiday to my hometown.
