Hi There, I've been reading this forum religiously for the past month now and have finally decided to join.

While initially interested in dominating the field of online marketing, I've decided that offline marketing is where I'm going to make my riches. Nevertheless, I will dedicate the next year to learning as much as I can about online marketing.

Why am I going to spend the next year learning what it takes to make it in the online world you ask? Simple, I plan to go offline by using that knowledge to help business owners strengthen or create their online presence. In order to do this, I need to know at least a little somethin' somethin' about how to make it online, especially since I plan on outsourcing almost immediately (can't tell what needs to be done or if it's done right if you've never tried, correct?)

Anyways, granted Armageddon, the Apocalypse, or any other end of world event doesn't take place in 2012, by January 1st 2013 I'll have learned enough to switch over to the offline marketing arena and dominate! And, you may never know, I may strike gold with one of my online ventures and decide to stick a around.

Either way, I'm down for the ride and look forward to what the New Year has to offer.

This forum has opened my eyes to the amount of possibility that lies out here on the internet and I fully intend on exploring a few of them in the upcoming year.

There was a course a while back "SEM.Blueprint" that teaches marketing SEO to local businesses, it provide some slideshow presentations for sales purposes, contracts and the techniques. IT sold for $197.

The simplest service would be enhancing or creating their ranking in the google places map that shows up when searching for local stuff. It involves getting them in listings like superpages that google will find, and getting user reviews. They don't even need a web site to benefit from this.

        Hi Kid,

        Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

        Why wait a year?

Go to the Offline Marketing Discussion section of the Warrior Forum
and read John Durham's post. I think right now it's at the top of the
        page.

Title starts like this "Newbies Read This"

        Good luck

        Mike

Hey Mike, I'm going to wait a year because I want to put in the time to learn the skills needed to successfully market online, in a variety of different ways.

I think once I've got a good grasp on how to do things such as run a successful niche blog, a business website, sell clickbank products, run facebook ads and etc., then and only then will I have the breadth of knowledge needed to service my future clients.

But what do I know? Hence, I'm off to read that thread you've mentioned.

          Glad you like Shuvo.

Just an update for Mike, since I can't send pm's yet.

That thread you mentioned is actually one of the ones that sparked my interest in offline marketing. And while it's feasible to jump right in with the information John has provided, that's something I'm neither comfortable with (running with just a basic understanding of the service I'm offering), nor have the time to implement (I can't cold call on a consistent basis ATM).

As such, until I'm able to consistently cold call --- which won't be until the end of this year and is mainly why I'm waiting so long, otherwise I'd read up/practice for ~3mo. then take the Nike approach and just do it --- I'd much rather spend my time learning as much as I can so that I'm able to knowledgeably answer my client's questions, have an arsenal of services to upsell, and can justifiably charge in the $399-$599 initial set up and $49-$199/mo maintenance range out the gate.

Thanks for reminding of that thread though... I already have it saved in a folder but there's been the addition of a few gems since I last read it.

No, I'm not really a kid. I just always get mistaken for one, lol.

Actually, it's not really that bad but still. I'm 21 and most assume I'm somewhere between 16-18 yrs old.

Anyways, good on you for doing this at 13. I might have started down this path around your age if I was aware of a forum like this one. I always had a love for computers and did a small group project at the end of 7th grade that lead to the creation of a website.

SNKDragons I believe was the name of it (I actually vaguely remember what the site looked like and what the first two initials stand for). Anyways, I kept the folders, tutorials, and work papers that they handed out for years after the camp was over.

Damn, now that I think about it I could have been a teenage kajillionaire if I had stuck with it.... Thanks James, now I'm gonna go cry in the corner about what coulda, woulda, and shoulda been .

Heh. I'm 23, and a lot of people mistakenly assume I'm 30+. One day I was with my 18 year old(!!) cousin, and a woman asked if he was my son.

And yet, if I shave off my beard (which I rarely do), I still sometimes get asked for ID in bars (which isn't good in the UK, where you only need to be 18 to purchase alcohol in bars).

DireStraits: I was thinking the beard is why you get mistaken for being older. And the babyface (sans beard) is why you and I get mistaken for being young'uns.

MyDosty: Yes, I do believe online marketing has it's riches. That said, I'm more interested in the offline world although I will be dabbling in the online one as well.

Great idea kiddo, I mean youngster. Haha. Kidding aside, I can relate with your interest in offline marketing. The approach is conventional and what the marketing and strategies you will apply will be more controllable. But the market now is easier to influence online so be open still with online marketing, if I may suggest.
Anyway, I salute you for having a plan as early as now and as young as 21. While others your age are bumming around, here you are studying and planning for you future. Keep up the good work and I hope you get motivated all the way.
