I like to think I'm a nice person. However I also keep in mind that "nice guys finish last"

My girl always talks about some old tale, "If you give a moose a muffin"

I've never heard it but she says it basically means, if you give them an inch, they'll take a mile.

Sometimes you just have to let people know that you aren't gonna let them walk all over you.

I'm trying to work on it...But I tend to draw a line in the sand and people are either on my side of the line or they're not. If you're on my side, I'm probably nice, if you're not on my side, I'm probably not so nice. But I am making an effort to be nicer to everyone, but changing a personality trait isn't always easy.

I am honest and I mind my own business. Am I nice? No. Not in the least. That doesn't mean I will go out of my way to hurt someone, but if people want candy dripped in syrup levels of empathy, I'm definitely not who they want to talk to.

We all have our own definition of being a "nice person". We could think that we are a nice person but sometimes tend to hurt someone unaware.

But see? Almost all of us are trying to be nice...Though the truth is, we still have our own weaknesses that totally oppose the characteristic of being "nice".

That is very true. For example, stringing someone along can be more hurtful than a blunt "no". Hollywood is well-known for stringing people along, killing them with kindness, rather than just saying, "We're not giving you the gig. Beat it."

I think if you say I'm a nice person than it kinda shows a sense of pride and deep insecurity deep down. You don't need to tell everyone that your nice. You just act that way and people notice it and thats that. Its like saying "i'm really humble". By saying that your not humble.

very nice. For my friends, I'll give them the shirt off my back. But if you do
me wrong, I can be one of the nastiest SOBs on this planet.

i dont know if i am nice or not....i try to help people as much as i can even when i dont want to...and yes i do expect a little 'thankyou' from the people i help and i get disappointed when the other person says to me 'you did it because you wanted to...i never forced you etc etc'.....hearing those words make me quite angry at myself that why did i even help such a person in the first place.....does expecting some sort of a thank you not make me nice?

I think I am a nice person but I do have a dark side - yeah I'll laugh when someone falls over (once I know they're okay of course). If I ever find myself saying something bad about someone then I try say something nice afterwards, example: A woman walking past hanging out of her clothes which are 3x smaller than she is and too much make up! I will then say, well it's her choice, it doesn't affect me (or she had nice shoes).

I used to let people take the p*ss a bit as I would bend over backwards to do anything for my friends, I still do but if someone takes advantage I take a step back! I don't hold a grudge, no point in that -it only affects me!

Nice person.... I suppose. To me at this point in my life it is important to give a helping hand if I can, smile a little more often, give a good word.. Upon first impression, without a doubt, yes.

Once you get to know me, you will find out that I have an interesting brand of sarcastic humor that is not everyone's cup of tea.

I mean no harm and I don't know any friends, to my knowledge, I have lost over it.

I truly try to treat everyone human with a certain level of respect.

Even, if I am double crossed, my first inclination is to take the high road.

END..as in what? Next week? Month year? What about on your death bed or at night when you look at your-self in the mirror? The huge problem online is the sheer amount of lying that is almost accepted these days.

In the long run if you aren't a"nice person" you will not gain anything.

Being a nice person doesn't mean not being focused no business, being tough, driven, disciplined, etc...To me it means being fair and honest. And sadly I do not know many people like that. On the Net it's about 1:10,000

I've found that being nice just makes things a lot easier. Whether you're dealing with the frontdesk staff at a hotel, the teller at a bank, cashier at a store... It's a lot easier to resolve things in a nice way I've found, when there's an issue, and there are often a lot less issues when you're easy to deal with.

Nice doesn't mean being a pushover and giving in, to me it's just a way to approach any situation. You can avoid a lot of misunderstandings by communicating effectively, rather than trying to step over somebody.
