Facebook - Friend or Foe?

I am doing a big Facebook friend cull after recently seeing some of my so-called 'friends' show their true colors.

It often takes a traumatic event or standing up for what you believe in, for your 'friends' to start showing their true colors. The upside is that you find out who your true friends are.

I guess my point here is that I have a lot of friends on Facebook that really aren't my friends. As such I've decided to do a Facebook friend cull and remove those who I don't really have a close friendship with. I've decided that I will keep Facebook as a place to communicate with friends, not a place for business or anything else.

So I have removed most of the people that I know from Warrior forum from my Facebook friends. If I've removed you, please don't take offense, it isn't that I don't like you, I just want to keep my business life separate from my personal life.

As they say...... don't mix business with pleasure

Well darn, I didn't even know you were on it!
On a serious note, sometimes you have to do something like that.
I removed a few myself recently.

I would recommend Path for close friends; that's what its made for. I have a facebook account for acquaintances (and people I want to network with) and a path account for my close friends.

I have never heard of Path! My friends and family are all on Facebook and I'm happy to use Facebook for personal.

Yeah. I love Path. It allows me to communicate/interact with my close friends and only my close friends. You are only allowed up to 50 friends on Path.

I only use my facebook for my second tier friends/acquaintances; of course I don't tell them that

Yeah he has healed up really well. The scars are still there but they aren't too bad and should still heal further yet. Emotionally he seems fine, last weekend we did a 'million paws walk' in the city and that was the first time he has been around lots of other dogs and he was ok.

I have to admit, that incident has played a big part in my Facebook cull as a lot of Ridgeback people showed their true colors. Trying to blame my son and protect the dog all to protect the name of their breed. I love Rhodesian Ridgebacks and always will, but there is no excuse for a bad dog (and you can get a bad dog in any breed) and I won't accept anyone trying to blame my son, especially when I know how good my son is with dogs. So basically I stood up for what I believed in and made a few enemies - so now they're gone from Facebook and gone from my life and they can stick it where the sun don't shine

Good to know your son is OK and back to taking the leash, so to speak.

Strangely, I actually figured something like that. I guess I'm always contemplating what motivates individuals and groups, more than is healthy. I never even saw your facebook page. My facebook account is basically dormant. I keep on meaning to use it, apply that FB marketing stuff yadda yadda. I'm not a fan of the era of Google/Zuckerman invasion-of-privacy, but, to use a trite metaphor, one sometimes needs to harness the bad winds to make the ship sail.
