Very similar to WSO critics. You can help a thousand people make money, and have testimonials all over the place, and they will focus all their energy on the 1% that are mad at you for one reason or another.

I just risked arrest a few hours ago after stopping 4 "police officers" kick a lad repeatedly in the head whilst he lay handcuffed and helpless in the street.

Needless to say there's a lot more negativity in the world that those odd folk who spend their time whining.

        Wow. What happened? Freakin sad.

When I was a kid I looked out my bedroom window one morning and there were cops beating the crud out of some guy who wasnt even resisting... he had run from them through our back yard... but even after they had him they kept pounding, all I remember was seeing blood all over the snow and wondering why they were doing that when he wasnt fighting.

Similarly, I woke at 4am to a rumbling of people running and soon after there was shouting. Looked out of the window to see them booting the lad in the head whilst ragging his wrists around with the handcuffs. I had to scramble for the window (naked!) to stick my oar in and shout for them to stop picking out the one coward who was kicking his head the most.

Told him I've got him on video to give the billigerent little shit something to worry about for the next few weeks contrary to the fact I couldn't for the life of me figure out my new digi cam to even go about taking a photo of him!

Hmmm, you know what they say, it is always darkest before the dawn!

Or this world is about as F**** up as it can get!

            • Medicine is more for the Pharmaceutical Company's to make substantial profits from, rather than find the quickest, easiest, most effective and cheapest cure!

            • The poor are kept poor, for the sake of the wealthy countries, and or the environment.

            • We pay more and more for electricity, etc, eventhough there are energy systems, that can run for almost 100 years, before their energy source becomes depleted. And the ironic thing is a 12 year old kid with a lego set could build one!

If we were serious about the environment, these systems would be developed.

            • The school system's purpose is to create workers or soldiers, not entrepreneurs!

            • Ancient artifacts on our nearest planetary bodies, are covered up and not talked about, eventhough there is good evidence to support it! But that should change on the 25th, (see mars curiosity......thread for more info,).

No, we may have impressive toys to play with, but we are in the dark ages.

But thankfully things will change for the better next year!

Why? Why didn't you stop them? Why did they do it? Most likely that "cop" lives down the road from you...
You know what I would have done? In my mind I would have went down and shoved whatever stick I could find up that cop's ass(but I have a belt in kickyrourass if that matters)... but in reality ... I just don't know... god we have become such sheeple...sigh,,,
Perhaps ask, what should have been done? We have to start the change somewhere... don't we?

Usually bringing something to an end is regarded as "stopping" and that's exactly what was done.

Hypothetical bravado / "Here's what I would have done" stories generally don't tend to wash for the fact it's all mind as you state. It takes a few specific experiences to learn the hard lesson in life that sometimes a better result is obtained from not bursting into a situation with fists flying regardless of the fact that your natural response might tell you that's exactly what needs to be done. In this case, spontaneous and mindless violence happens to be the the very problem at hand.

              Change begins with yourself.

The sheep are only the people who turn a blind eye.

Jeez - just tell her that "never mind. I'll stop." And let her feel she's doing everything on her own - if she's failing, let her fail. Just don't stop - keep the money under your hat and give it in a lump sum when she least expects it but really needs it. Her tune might change.

In an off note, I relate to you about the nature and such, I built my own cabin out in the country over the summer and enjoyed "every" minute of it.
Since I came back to help.... I enjoyed about 10 minutes of it.

The fate of anyone who notices anything wrong sadly is to be belittled and called a "conspiracy theorist". Then they start pulling out every hillbilly in the back woods who has ever allegedly seen a UFO to take the conspiracy theorist image to extremes so people wont take anyone seriously who questions. We cant win this, only God can destroy it. That's MHO. No, Im no angel, but I believe that. I agree with Jesse. I'd welcome 21/2012 if were true.

Here is the description on the book Alexa recommended. I thought that as a stand alone thought it was worth posting:

Synthesizing thirty years of research, psychologist and science historian Michael Shermer upends the traditional thinking about how humans form beliefs about the world. Simply put, beliefs come first and explanations for beliefs follow. The brain, Shermer argues, is a belief engine. Using sensory data that flow in through the senses, the brain naturally begins to look for and find patterns, and then infuses those patterns with meaning, forming beliefs. Once beliefs are formed the brain begins to look for and find confirmatory evidence in support of those beliefs, accelerating the process of reinforcing them, and round and round the process goes in a positive-feedback loop.

One of the self help gurus I study (either Randy Gage or Tony Robbins) says that the default state for the human mind is negativity. You have to put effort in to train your mind otherwise (to focus on the positive).

Robbins goes into it a bit, on changing what you focus on and things like that. I find it interesting.

Yep, l think that it is a protective system. after all if you persist towards your goal, even if you know that it will work, but it takes 20 years, then unless negativity sets in, like l can't comprehend that this will work, etc, but still keep trying, then you can still reach that goal without going nuts!!!

I think that it is virtually impossible to stay optimistic, for prolonged periods of time, without some negativity. Otherwise you would stay positive, until it becomes too much and then give up for good!!!

No, so called negativity, is like failure, you need one to achieve the other! Or a worthwhile goal.

Further to that, I got taught way back when, in an "overcoming sales objections" seminar, that one of the first words we get taught as children is "no".

Parents seldom use the word yes, it's always no.

Thanks for reminding me Greg, Randy Gage is ( for lack of a better word) my hero man. BTW: Looks like all three of us have the same hairstyle. lol

I need to get back to listening. I once drove around for an entire year not listening to the radio, only the prophet by Gibran over and over, and the whole Randy Gage True Prosperity set. If you are well versed in Gage, we have something in common. Actually for about 6 or 8 years after leaving the music business, I felt so hurt for my career ending that I wouldnt listen to music in my car.... I just pumped audio teaching constantly, even listened to it in bed at night... It was soo worth it.

You want to fall asleep fast, and productively- Try staying awake through Depok Chopras "Way of the Wizard". That was Sleep background noise for about a year, and his voice will knock you flat out! lol But you pick it up subliminally.

      -John

      PS:

Greg you really did just give me an epiphany! If I could thank you twice I would. After posting this I said to myself "THAT is the thing I used to do constantly, that I quit doing, that is missing!" .

If one were to ask me why I did well on the phone ... when I was younger, its because the other guys were pumping Rap music in their car at break, and I was reading Mandino or pumping Tony Robbins and Zig Ziglar. Sure they thought it was weird, until I ended up becoming their GM.

Dont tell me audio teaching isnt powerful!

Your boyfriend and her son just had a stroke.

You BOTH have reason to be pissed. It's the holiday season and it seems unfair.

Sit down and talk to her. Tell her how scared you are for his health, she probably feels the same way. You are both trying to gain some control over a situation that may not be controlled. In her mind, it may be the price of the stuff on ebay might be the one thing that can be controlled, and it's better than nothing.

My prayers go out to you, your boyfriend, and his mother.
