What do you think to this appointment setting script

I'm wondering if you can help me. I have devised the following appointment setting script for Voice over IP telephone systems. Could you please have a look at it and tell me what you think. I would love your feedback!

"My names XXX and I'm calling from XXX we are telecoms company based in XXX and we have helped over 300 companies reduce their telecom costs by upto 40%. Will you be available in a week or two so one of our representatives can drop by for 5 minutes just to show you how the solution we have on offer has helped other companies similar to yours
improve their bottom line?"

Please do let me know your thoughts!

    Saying 5 minutes is a red flag ... almost nothing takes 5 minutes -
    if it did ... why not do it then on the phone.

    I imagine your using upto for compliance? - compliance dictates - or
    at least in Florida - that compliance must be met during the actual sale.

    Asking for the app today lets you know if they are serious.
    a week or two is to long - they will forget and if you do a reminder
    call ... they might blow you off ... but they definitely wont still be warm

    get it for today - tomorrow - asap

      This is a great post, having read it, this is what I use on a daily basis, which fills my diary up quite quickly

      "Hi, My name is Dave Hayes, I'm a local business marketing consultant and work with business like yours, to help you reduce costs, as my business has tons of benefits for yours, I am seeing XXX number similar type businesses in YOUR TOWN next Wednesday and if you have no objections, can I come and show you how your business will benefit from what we/I have to offer."

      Without fail, I get appointments very easily, if they ask whats it all about, my reply is its a visual thing, which is best seen & I'll be happy to answer any questions when me meet.

      Appointment set. Conversion rates to date, from 5 years plus worth of doing this

    The "script" is all about you, and not at all about the prospect. You have given them no reason, no advantage, no benefit..to talk to you.

    You are literally screaming.."Hang up on me".

    There are great books on prospecting. I wrote one myself. Read them, or hope one of the experts here are willing to write a script for you. But don't expect it for free.

    Never mind, I just saw that Ken gave you an excellent script.

      First I would not call the above a script. At best it is a lead in.
      Second, consultative? Why?

      You just want him to agree to meet you. Then you do the consultative approach
      with a real script - when your eyeball to eye ball.

      Something else for you to think about.

      If you are going to try and consult him on the phone ... then you might as well
      not half step and just go for the sale right then.

      The worse thing you can do - is attempt to mish mash different formulas together
      when you don't understand them.

      Winging it cold, having zero idea what to do would work out better
      then mixing together different approaches.

    Dreamer; I can tell by your two posts here that you don't know enough to write a full phone script. You should pay someone here to do it for you. Not me.

        it's about 2 companies you'll know who have slashed their telecom costs
        by 31% and 40%. There may be an opportunity for you to do the same....

        P.S. I haven't gone for the appointment in the opening
        because of 2 reasons...

        1 I want to qualify him so it will speed up the phone and
        meeting with more qualified people.

        2 You are not forcing the yes or no decision to be made
        on whether to meet with you, or a rep., with a stranger.
        That takes a bit of warming up to make that happen.

    When it comes to voice over IP, it's not just about price. Most of the mid sized companies I have worked with were not willing to go through the trouble of meeting somebody, being pitched etc.. to save a bit of money often due to preconceptions.

    They generally dismissed the idea because they had preconceived notions that the quality would suck or there would be too much downtime and issues implementing the new solution. Not really something that excites anybody.

    This is just an example of how to use something other than price.

    "Hi Steve, I'm Peter. I just finished up installing a voice over IP solution at Company X. The reason I am calling you is because you are close to them and would be on the same grid and I am blown away by the call quality we are getting here. I can always save a company 30 to 40% on their telecom costs but that's pointless if the quality isn't any good. Was wondering if we could stop in for 5 minutes and do a quick test to confirm this would work just as well at your location? We can pop in on (give several choices)." If none of those are good ask what is.

      Excellent lead in...

      ...but if you really want to get your prospect to say yes before you even finish the presentation...try this on for size, provided you can truly save this person/business 40%.

      Hi Joe,
      my name is Eddie and I'm gonna knock 40% off your bill guaranteed, or I'll pay you $10,000.00 cash! I just finished up installing a voice over IP solution at Company X, and they were blown away by the call quality! I'm calling you because you share the same grid as they are, and your call quality will be just as amazing!

      Let me come over, and I'll put my money where my mouth is. Is today at 2pm good, or would you prefer tomorrow at 3?
