If you had to rank the effectiveness of various sales methods do you think it would be:
  1. Face to face
  2. Telemarketing
  3. Direct mail
  4. Email

Or is your ranking different?

For me the most effective is referrals

    Secondly it is seminars

Thirdly it is Direct mail, followed by a call, followed by a face to face meeting (although the Face to Face is not always required)

Direct marketing is by far the most effective method in my experience, because you can "multiply" yourself and leverage your knowledge and strategies many times

This is an area of speculation for most...

My most effective way for closing clients
1- Face to Face success about 93%
      2- Phone Call About 80%
      3- Leveraged 3rd party validation close 70%
4- Leveraged Assumption close Via Email/Fax and now Texting 40%

Most effective way to get in front of potential clients to pitch....
1- Group Marketing/Pitching Workshops and Events
      2- Telemarketing
      3- Direct Mail
4- Geo Targeted Keywords Via the Internet
      5- Social Media
      6- Referrals

My Most effective #1 Strategy, using the Internal / External Direct Mail Letter to 3
department heads of Fortune 500 companies and above. We are able to flush
out the decision maker, and get an appointment 52% of the time. Try getting appts
with Executive VP's and above at companies like these, its not easy, but when employed
the Internal/External Method, its a SNAP.

Hope this helps, i feel these are just 2 very distinct categories,
      and get misconstrued and mis-understood.

      Regards,
      Robert
