Last month I got a wholesale novelty catalog in the mail from a company called Rhode Island Novelty. You can order their catalog by calling them at: 1-800-528-5599 or you can request one online at rinovelty.com. In their catalog they sell 10" x 19" LED open signs for $10.80 each or you can order a case of 20 for $216.

I did a search online for the exact same 10" x 19" LED open sign selling at the retail price of between $49 to $99 per sign.

So, I ordered a case of 20 and figured I would sell the LED open signs to local businesses, such as corner stores door to door for $40 each.

All I did to sell my LED open signs was I walked into a store I noticed didn't have an LED open sign or I thought could use another one and ask if the owner or manager wasm in and then I simply showed them the LED open sign and asked if they would like to buy one for just $40.

I did this for 5 days, Monday - Friday working only 2 hours a day and I made 1-3 sales each day and ended up selling all 20 of my LED open signs at $40 each, for a profit of $584 for just 10 hours of work.

Now, that is great, but what I figured out while I was selling the LED open signs was that almost every corner store I went into had an ATM machine, but they didn't have a lighted ATM sign, only a sticker or paper sign on thier door or in their window, but that doesn't catch a customers attention as much a lighted ATM sign, so I did some searching online for a wholesale supplier of LED lighted ATM signs and I found a company called Alibaba, their website address is at alibabe.com and they sell LED lighted ATM signs for $10 each when you buy them in cases of 10 or 20.

So, I ordered a case of 20 for $200 and I did the same thing I did with the LED open signs and sold them door to door to corner stores for $40 each. Now, unlike to LED open signs that took me 5 days to sell working only 2 hours a day, the LED lighted ATM signs sold like hot cakes in 2 days, so I worked just 4 hours and sold all 20 lighted ATM signs at $40 each for a profit of $600.

Now, sense the first 20 lighted ATM signs sold so fast and easy, I decided to order another 40 and I sold all 40 of them in 7 days for a profit of $1,600.

This is a very simple money making idea that anyone can do to make some great extra money, so give it a try and let me know how things turn out?

The guy is making posts " I made $250/day", etc... spamming multiple forums. All he's trying to do is sell his own program (am I the only one that can see this??). If he wants to sell his own program, he can pay like everyone else does, and go start a WSO.

I have to agree with you here, I don't think Martin was being out of line. Just throwing out some ideas for inspiration, perhaps? It made me want to check out his program and I think I'll do that now

On the other hand, Martin, you may have a potential WSO up your sleeve?

I dont pretend to know the FTC regulations, but believe they are cracking down on false or exagerated income claims, Your WSO seems to be infering that newbies can make up to $15,000 PCM. surely with such a successful system, you would be building a business, and scaling this right up.

so how much is the average person making, because if you cannot substantiate these claims, my understanding is that you could be doing a lot worse than not complying with the warrior forum's regulations.

No confusion, you have inferred that newbies can earn up to $15,000 per month, that is quite a bold statement, that you have made publicly. Why not substantiate this publicly.

You really shouldn't make assumptions.
I've been self employed, working for myself, for over 10-years.
And I would estimate that 95% of my income comes OUTSIDE of the WarriorForum.

Why would I sell a product? You are seriously asking that question? Come on now. Donald Trump is a BILLIONAIRE, and even he has products that teach ways to earn a living.

Why would he do this? Why even both when it's just peanuts compared to what he's worth?
Think about it....

Let me share my experiences with Martin.

He shared an interesting idea - selling ATM and Open LED signs for multiples of the initial cost.

Not only sharing an idea - but his actual experience doing it, something I would guess a lot of WSO sellers can only dream of.

I PM'ed Martin some questions about suppliers, he was kind enough to point me in the direction he took,shared his suppliers with me and and did mention that he had this pizza deal, since I inquired about making money immediately offline as he did. So what.

There was nothing to be gained by him offering up his suppliers, He just did.

The guy is out here sharing real ideas that have worked for him. If the cost of useful, actionable is a btw mention of a Related offer, so be it.

If someone is going to police these threads, how about all those phony rave reviews for all the fiverr outsource WSOs and the like that are hailed as the "most original, best way to make money ever"

Martin's contributions are welcomed by many, I daresay.

I agree. I've asked Martin a few clarification questions here and via email. He's always been helpful.

Bottom line: the guy's a class act.

I bought one of his products and I am going to be putting a couple of his systems into action. Beautiful thing is . . . once you get it set up you can outsource most or all of it and you've set up a nice little residual income for yourself.

The fact is I've seen a lot of threads just like yours, many not even as blatant, get deleted.

Now, I'm not going to pretend that I can read your mind. Maybe you didn't mean to self promote, maybe that wasn't in your thought process. I was thinking the exact same thing. He wasn't hurting anyone, spamming anything, or being over the top with self promotion.

Somebody else could have just as easily talked about how they sold SEO services to their insurance agent while they were in their office. He was simply pointing out a way to make sure to always be talking about your business.

A lot of us have signatures on here that promote what we do, we don't need a WSO every time we want to talk about our business.

Sig files are allowed. Self promotion is not. If I started a thread talking about how to make money, or how I made money, using the product in my sig file, I would fully expect it to be deleted.

Can you imagine what would happen if everyone with a product to sell in their sig file started a thread about how they made money with it? Think about it.... Yes, that's how I see it.
There are no rules against sig files, they are allowed.

However, when you go starting a thread about how much money you made, and the topic just so happens to also be in your sig thread....well that just looks like someone trying to promote their product for free instead of paying for the WSO.

Again, as I told Martin, I'm not saying this was done intentionally by him, but that's what it looks like.

I don't understand what the deal is with people bringing up self promotion nowadays.

THAT'S WHAT MARKETING IS....?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!

Obviously if I am planning on selling something I am going to self-promote and try to appear as a professional and go-to guy.

WTF. It really annoys me that every time someone trys to share a method whether it be awful, great, unique, WHATEVER... the person gets flamed!

I understand that there are cliques everywhere you go but a public online forum should not be a clique. Just because there are 5-10 guys that have amazing WSOs and every time they make a thread with a method or bull&**$ advice... FLOCKS of people come in to praise and tell them how amazing they are.

Why do we help these 5-10 people promote themselves while we bash the newer guys for trying to promote themselves?

I hate to get myself involved in a pissing contest here and I was planning on posting about 5 methods of my own over the course of the next week or two as I build my business but seems like I might want to just continue lurking...

Hello Martin,

I really enjoy your posts. I purchased your Pizza Card WSO and I have a few questions. I emailed you, but haven't heard back yet.

1. I want to make the discount card business a full-time income, but only producing up to 1000 pizza cards per pizza shop would really make this difficult. I need more cards to sell, and I don't know how many pizza shops I can get signed up in my local area. Have you had any success with locally-franchised pizza chains that may allow you to produce larger numbers of cards to sell? I'm thinking BIG here, haha!

2. Do you consider your commission-only sales people "independent contractors" for tax purposes?

I have a twist that I want to apply to make this venture really take off for me.

Chris,

You can make an agreements with as many pizza shops as you can and get them to agree to let you print as many cards as you think you can sell, it's not limited to just 1,000 cards.

All my sales reps are independent and are responsible for their own tax filling issues.

I think the moral of the thread is to think outside of the box, and just strike up conversations in your every day life, you never know what could come of it.

I feel value was added here, even if the signature matches to his thread. So if I have a signature line about "how to rank on the #1st page of Google in 2 weeks!" (or something) am I not to start a single thread talking about SEO and techniques to rank?

I haven't followed this particular gentleman's posts, but I wasn't offended by it.

I have seen way worse self promotion, 0 value added, that just basically tried to get people to click on the signature line.

I thought the basics of "forum marketing" is to add value to the forum and thus people click on your signatures..

If he is building up to a WSO, It is working, can we blame Martin? I don't, make your money brotha.

The guy at this thread did a self promotion (in a way) that has 4 star rating and pages of responses. He solicited e-mails, then almost immediately sent a product offer to those e-mails. I know because I e-mailed him to ask about his SMS provider as I was about to pull the trigger for 800-1K whit-label reseller (screw twilio/openvbx it is to much techie stuff!), and building an SMS component to my offline business. The thread is still there, I suppose, because he did add a lot of value.

Anyways, just my view on things, I could be wrong, I have been wrong before.

Keep your posts coming Martin. I see nothing wrong with what you do. As a comparison, John Durham has a thread in which he outlines his plans to make 500k this year. In the sig line he has a link to his WSO on the same topic. Is this offensive? No way. We have the choice to click or not to click on the link to his WSO. Same goes for Martin. Keep em coming!

I told him if he needed any more pizza discount cards to just let me know as my company produces and sells them as fundraisers and incentive gifts.

My agent then asked me how much I sell the pizza cards for and if they could be customized with his business name and contact info on them.

I told him I normally sell each pizza card for $1 each to business owners to use as incentive gifts with a min. purchase of 100 cards. I then told him that I could place his business card on one side and the pizza discount card on the other side and I would give him a 50% off today if he ordered 500 cards at $250 and paid up front.

He then handed me his business card and asked if i could place it on the other side of the pizza card and I said not a problem.

He then asked how long it would take to get the cards printed and back to him. I told him I would have the pizza cards in his hands within 2 weeks or less.

He then went into his briefcase and pulled out his check book and wrote me out a check for $250.

I thanked him and told him I would get started on his pizza discount cards today and left.

Like I said I just wanted to share my story, as i thought it was a good one.

Are you kidding me!?! Martin Buckley, John Dunham and Bob (Jake) Ross are 3 of thee classiest, coolest Warrior Forum dudes on here! They don't need to *self promote* because most of us who have spent any small time around these forums will gladly speak up and vouch for their awesome character's! Trust and believe, we all can separate the sheep from the wolves...and these guys are nobody's wolves, for sure! Just straight up, honest men who will go above and beyond to help if asked. This is a great post, Martin. Stories like these give me inspiration and ideas. I don't know what LegitIncomes' problem is. I do have a problem with spamming, but self promotion? Isn't that the whole idea of the forum and the internet, in fact; to get yourself out there. If you were clearly spamming (i.e. look at my program, I got rich with little effort, ...), then I would agree, but this, in no way, harms the average Joe. Continue posting, Martin, and if you get more comments from him, give him an intraction or something. Look forward to your next post, buddy.
