Can I input customer reviews in Google places?

Hello, if customers give the business owner handwritten reviews, what is the best way to get them on google places?

Can I create a new gmail account for each review and post it?
Do you tell the customers to write the review on google places?
Do you give incentives for a customer to write a review on Places?

I've looked around and could not find what is common practice, so forgive me if this has been answered before.

There's a WSO on this concept to be offered to offline clients as a stand-alone service, you can find it by clicking HERE.

You'd want to take those reviews and have them posted by people on fiverr and that sort of thing - since Google might not approve of the same IP posting the reviews.

There's also a service that specializes in doing this for you - which can be found by clicking HERE.

    Hope this helps.

If they have good customers they will get a new Gmail if needed and then let them post their honest review without any incentive. Total BS to let anyone else do it for you. Make it honest!

To use hand written reviews, you can scan them and post them on their Wordpress site (if they have one) and create a new category called "reviews" or whatever you want to call it and then link to it in Google Places in the misc category options at the bottom with "Read our hand written reviews at."

Posterous is also a good solution for storing the reviews.

It sounds like you want to convert the handwritten letters to online reviews though. For that, I don't know of any way.

      Thanks for the tips guys.

Is it ok to give a coupon or something to customers if they leave reviews at Google places?

I want reviews on Google Places left by the customers, but that will probably be asking a lot from some of them so I'm trying to come up with ways I can get their reviews on Google Places.

Yes, any hand written reviews would be put on the website testimonial page, but I would think they could be typed out and placed on Google Places too, it's a legitimate review.

Fiverr is a good idea, I don't really want to risk it for clients though.

      Thanks

Yes, I think this is your best bet. To train the staff to ask how the customer's experience was that day and if they said it was grea,t then say, "We'd really appreciate it if you would leave a nice review for us on our GooglePlaces page. And to show our appreciation, we're willing to give you a $20 gift certificate (or whatever the incentive is). Just let us know when it's done and I'll pop it in the mail for you." Also, they could go one step further adn say, "IS it ok if I send you an email reminder?"

But then my concern is, what do they need to keep paying you for?

Anyone have any advice here on this one? I don't like the idea of doing it dishonestly either.

        Thanks,

Yep, I wanted to this for someone, it's too fake.

So, some good suggestions here about how you should go about encouraging reviews from REAL customers.

Who would have thunk? Getting reviews from real customers? Wow...

Why not use the opportunity to train your client to better their system instead of risking it?

If you can put your heads together you can come up with a way that encourages customers to want to leave reviews.

Perhaps a QR code that you ask them to scan at checkout that takes them to places where they can share their shopping experience.

You know how best buy offer to give an additional 10% off if you fill out a credit app? Why not offer 10% off if they leave a review for you, it takes the same amount of time to fill out a credit application.

I just ask my best customers to write a quick review. I tell them it would mean alot to me and 90% of the time they will do it. You also have to make it easy for them. I have an email template setup for Google Places and Yelp that has links and instructions on what to do. If your customer has to do any kind of work, they will most likely abandon the project.
I love the idea of scanning handwritten notes and posting them on your website. You can even do that with the image gallery in your Google Places page!
