Another Email Question ...

I have a customer that wants to start implementing email marketing. They currently have emails in their database and are now starting to ask for emails on their service calls.

They want me to be dropping these emails into a autoresponder.

Which autoresponder do you recommend that will allow me to drop the names into it without the customer actually doing it?

Thanks,

Keith

I wouldn't use Aweber for that because it will send them a request to confirm that they really, really, pinky-swear really want to receive messages from so and so.

The three autoresponders that allow you to import or add subscribers by hand are:

MailChimp (has the most ridiculous TOS on the planet, i.e. no affiliate marketing of any kind, no this, no that, and are know for blocking your account if your list isn't as responsive as they want it to be)

CostantContact (have an amazingly strong brand among the brick & mortar businesses but their features suck -- no your typical opt in boxes, only one capture page CC style per account)

iContact (This is the one I usually recommend. Limit you to 6 messages per name per month but for most "normal" businesses that's plenty. There is a free option too that handles up to 500 contacts and up to 4 message / month)

And there's an option to host your own script. There are some free ones and not free ones but that's a whole different story.
