Offline forum has become...

...a make a general/generic post about a method that happens to coincide with the current (or soon-to-be-released) WSO in one's signature. Some good things are discussed and intentions may be positive, but it appears to be under the guise of drawing attention for obvious reasons.

I'm not one to knock one's hustle, but it seems to have become the norm for the Offline section and the newly-found Mobile section. So, why not just re-name these sub-forums "WSO pre-sale Forum"?

Anyone else notice this?

This is an internet marketing forum. Marketers can't seem to help themselves. Marketing is in our blood!

It's like asking a body builder, "yo why you always working out!?!?"

I'm not trying to knock your hustle either... but this is the offline section and you're complaining instead of writing a helpful post about offline marketing.

Shall we call this the "complain forum"?

Instead of bring it up, maybe you can post more helpful post and set the standards for everyone.

    Just my two cents!

I never made mention of your name, nor was I referring to your posts, yet you seem offended by this for some reason.

If you want to call it "complaining", fine by me. I'd rather my intentions be known and straightforward, versus post-whoring in attempts to get my signature seen by as many people as possible. We've seen many posts made that had less content than the corresponding signatures.

I have just as much right to raise the issue as those that are "doing their thing".

    G'day!

haha i'm not offended and i didn't think you were talking about me either.

I was just voicing my opinion just like you were.

"I'd rather my intentions be known and straightforward, versus post-whoring in attempts to get my signature seen by as many people as possible."

^ this is exactly what i just did.

like i said i wasn't trying to knock your hustle. I hope you don't feel too offended.

I'm heading out to get my party on. Have a great weekend!

ah but Chris, just because you are open about it doesnt mean you arent doing it, and that its not the same whoring, or any more ethical (You used the word not me)!

Im not saying you are, in fact I like you alot, but just offering a fuller perspective. Its easy to create an us and them scenario. "Us" can point fingers and say "them" is whoring, then "us" looks like a classier whore with higher morals... to use your anology, whoring is still whoring... Although making statements like "You cant blame us..." doesnt necessarily classify you with the classier more sophisticated whores...again, to use your own anology.

I think your post, forgive me, just said "We are internet marketers, its in our blood..."?

Not me. I have learned some internet marketing this year and have enjoyed it, but I am an offliner by blood.

Correction: Im even MORE of an offline TRAINER by blood. What I do here is the exact thing I have done in large telemarketing rooms for years breaking records, in live rooms with live people...make that 2o years... so speak for yourself only here Bro! lol

I dont know about everyone else and dont care, but this one has EARNED his right to teach hardcore and has a track record of being dead on effective at it, a real record that can be validated.

Im not a whore, Im a Godsend to anyone who wants to know how to get a champion cold caller out of themselves!

Yeah baby! Thats what Im talkin about!

John, I like you too for your contribution. Like I mentioned before in pm, your script has worked wonders for my telemarketers. You're probably one of the few I would EVER recommend.

But when you get a chance, reread my post.

I'm was actually defending the warriors and saying that if he consider that whoring, i guess i did it too.

I never used the word "whoring", I was just quoting "xichabodx".

I guess he deleted the quote... haha what a set up.

lol this actually cracks me up!

Its all good, I dont think we are bashing each other here just sharing in light hearted humor, and educating. I actually think its funny that the word whoring was used. lol

If you could hear my tone of voice in saying that you would know I was half jesting... but still making a serious point.

            Mucho amor to you bro.

ps. xichabodx edited the post huh ? The wanker!

            xichabodx, that was humor.

Pps. Thanks for trying my stuff with your TMS, thats another great satisfaction with this. Glad its working for you.

no worries bro. just thought it was funny since i never said that.

plus, you're a well respected warrior so i didn't want any misunderstanding.

I myself been offline ever since i was 19.

Just a lil proof from a 100k profit deal i did when i was 23-24? (real estate deal, not offline marketing)

And a speaking gig i did recently couple days ago in front my fellow real estate investors.
They thought i was an internet marketing GENIUS!

I don't even know why i'm trying to prove myself here. haha
i guess i care about my reputation here in the forum.

I see the point through an IMer's eyes, but on the otherhand, it's become laughable. I was merely just suggesting a forum name change.

lol. Thanks. I returned to this thread because I had a thought: What am I doing selling reports anyway?

I need to be doing personal training. Its just some technical, logistical aspects I dont understand ATM.

Why am I not just spending a day figuring them out, and just doing whats in my blood? I can train live as well as anyone else when it comes to cold calling.

This thread itself is a potential epiphany for me. I should be doing live training.

Ps. I mean, through the internet but live on the phone...daily meetings, that sort of thing, live monitoring, recording, making suggestions, giving daily motivational speeches before the training shift...with someone on the phone, on the spot, hardcore, accountability...the whole deal.

      Wow. Big epiphany

I would lose money running a WSO...Thats why I never have run one....no knock against those who have...

I figure the time it takes to properly research, outsource if needed, construct, edit, do graphics, test and what ever is needed will take what...a month, 2 months, more?

Then sell the WSO for $39 and maybe sell 100.....thats $3,900 for those without a calculator...

I've got my business running where I make that in a week. I would stand to lose a buttload of money wasting a month or 2's time instead of concentrating on my business......I can always outsource, but I'm too hands-on to do that.

I do see a smidgen of what the OP sees...I don't think it's rampant or enough to say that this forum is becoming a haven for it.....I've gotten pretty good at reading through the BS, seeing whats helpful and informative against whats promotional and have reported "self promoting" threads in the past. I know other have too...let's keep it up and this forum will be just fine!

    Offline forum rocks!

$39 WSOs? Most are in the $9 range, and I never really understood why if someone is making $10K a month doing what they say they do in the WSO, why they would spend so much time selling that information for a few bucks.

Don't get me wrong, I've purchased my shares of WSOs, and have gotten some great ideas from many of them, but when you consider the time it takes to put them together, then the constant customer service involved with questions, support, etc. It doesn't seem like its that worthwhile from a financial perspective.

Wouldn't that time be spent better by just doing more of what the WSO contains? Just my 2 cents.

For me its cool, because I have always been an offliner...and I never really felt like I had enough technical knowledge to be an IMr... and last year I finally got the chance to try it, and its pretty cool.

Plus if you are used to speaking to large groups, its even more cool because you can do things like build a forum, even though sometimes you need a break from it.

I love my forum and our people... and its really cool to be able to do that and an honor. But yeah, report selling for me has been a very cool learning experience that I have always wanted to have.

Granted you make more money on offline projects... but after being an offliner for so many year and hearing about people pushing buttons and making sales, it has been something I have always wanted to experience, and its an opportunity to put your teaching in print, so that it can affect people years after you are gone...

There is always the hope that it will grow so much that you wont have to do offline anymore because you want to do something different than what you have always done...

Its very cool because your list is kinda like your old telemarketing crew, cept online, and you make great bonds and friendships.

Now here's the drawback that Im growing weary of - Some people also hate on you for selling information, and they are constantly trying to destroy your rep or plant digs to make people filter you in a negative light, they google bomb you...they come to your threads and subtly discredit you... they think you have gotten too big for your britches as my grandmother would say...

        Lol.

The very same speech that would motivate the heck out of a person live, comes across as cocky in print...so theres alot of learning left to do there too...

Lastly, you get to where you dont know who is spamming your forum with PMs, pissed off customers (the less than 2%) will email all the other ones and try to make you look bad...

The thing that makes online marketing weary at times to be honest, even though the benefits are huge in many enriching ways, is that despite all the love have with most of your customers... The ones who decide to hate, never quit pestering you... and never quit saying things and never quit blah blah blah...

If you could take that part out... it would be great.

Its not like offline where if you get an unhappy customer, you just end the relationship... but ONLINE, they never go away and the relationship doesnt end it sometimes becomes a public bashing thing...and they act out with revenge and you are constantly defending yourself against things that are totally stupid to have to defend.

I love my forum and my list...that part is great, but you get tired of going there and opening up your pm box and getting bashed by haters, every day before you have even finished your coffee lol.

Its not that way when you have 200 members and theres only a couple of people, but when you have 2,500 members then the 2% grows and every day you are dogging off some kind of negativity, and it takes alot of the energy dealing with that you used spend sharing positivity...and they drain you to where you dont even want to open your email box sometimes.

Again thats the WAAAY minority. But when you get into the thousands, that 2 percent turns into 20-30 people who are constant thorns in your flesh and they drain all of your creativity for the ones who really have the right heart.

Anyway, why do people market online when they are offliners? For me its just cool to experience the idea that after all these years marketing without this kind of knowledge, that all I had to do was "try" and found out, "Wow, I could have done this the whole time, and I didnt really need all that technical knowledge like I thought...and Wow, I have a sale in my inbox, I cant believe it, it happened while I was at dinner... or while I was asleep".

Thats cool. Very neat, and very worthwhile for everyone to experience at some point in their career.

Ps. It would also be easy to say "look at him complaining, he should be soo lucky to be able to sell reports...".

Here's my answer: Go do it yourself, it didnt fall out of the sky on me. Like everything else worthwhile I pursued it and worked hard to see it happen. Its awesome, we are talking about pros and cons.

Would I love to have a 50k or 100k launch everytime I put something out? Sure, but according to Marlon Sandors, you may not want the other things that come with those huge launches.

In the end its all a cool learning experience and a great chance to learn new ways of making money and share with great people... It does have draw backs too like anything else.

Most of the legit guys do both online and offline. Just because people write reports doesnt mean they dont still do offline. I still run 2-3 appointments per week and have other projects, but this has been my big fascination this year. Learning all of this and experiencing it, my list is very cool. I love em.

Well said John. It is great satisfaction to expand and succeed in new venues and entire markets. I run in ten years cycles. It keeps the blood fresh I guess. LOL

It's also very true that writing on forums and email is a totally different animal than speaking live and in person. I've had to advise some good friends about how they came across online. There is just too much opportunity for misunderstanding. As you said, you could be joking and someone reads it and gets offended. LOL

You know, I have come to a similar conclusion about going back to training and speaking. I recently had the same epiphany. Besides, the "platform" is one of the best prospecting tools alive.

It's like a 60-minute infomercial with live proof that you know what you're doing. People can't do what you're teaching anyway and decide to hire you. You simply can convert 30% of the audience, just like Chris testified above.

My first offline promo event in 1993 had overflow attendance in a small, local market. I made $5K within one week off the first client who came to me and it continued.

Since I felt I didn't get the chance to interact with as many people from the larger group, I decided to reduce the numbers so I could increase conversion. So I only allowed 15 couples at a time. I trained them on "how to." This gave them "social proof" what I was teaching worked. Then they wanted me to do it for them.

Then every week instead of meeting with single prospects for my business like I used to, I gave a presentation to small groups of 15 couples every Saturday morning in the same local market.

Conversions increased and I used my time better by meeting with groups. Why give a pitch to just one prospect at a time, when 15 are better?

Hey, I know we have automated webinars and video players now, but there still is something about an offline live event. It captivates and closes like a rock concert.

My checks were better too. I was selling assets instead of "reports."

Don't worry Chris. As a 30-year offliner and 23-year veteran of the real estate wars, we all love you very much. BTW, aren't those big real estate checks great. A year's income in one fell swoop. Great job. Now you can go back to sleep Philly dude.

And hey, we need to get together sometime. I'm only a couple of hours from you.

Hope all is well with you big John. Thanks for the email the other day.

I love em.

Congratulations my friend. It's actually a compliment when your thread takes off. You've stimulated a good discussion and "forum" for interaction.

A good thread takes on a life of it's own. Otherwise it dies when interest wanes. With more interaction there is much value that is brought forth for all our benefit.

As each one of us invests some of ourselves into this conversation, our contributions create synergy and wisdom far beyond ourselves.

And that's why we all keep coming back.

But I know you already knew that.

Personally I like everybody now...I went through a stage where I wanted to "Police", and get rowdy... but Im over it. Too hard on the VIBE, much easier just to use the button and more effective. I guess no one pushed it, so this thread is alright! Lets have fun!

My 2 cents would be that without them a lot of what makes the Forum work would be gone. Some of them seem to be rather altruistic (for which I am grateful) and maybe they only put a price on it to recoup a little of what it takes to put it out (or maybe it's that they have to make people pay because we don't appreciated free stuff as much?).

Or maybe they want to do list building and a loss leader is worth it?

Luckily we're endowed with free will giving us the ability to choose between what we read and what we don't. Don't worry, after awhile you'll develop filters that allow you to bypass posts entirely. You'll develop a sixth sense (or BS detector) that'll go off at the sight of a suspicious looking thread title.

As stated above, you can't expect a forum full of marketers to abstain from doing what they do best.. especially when you consider the traffic that the Warrior Forum receives.

In the end, if they're offering something of value I say more power to 'em! This forum has users of all skill levels so rest assured that even though you might not find something helpful, there is someone else that will.

Hey Chris, yer making me feel like a monster man. Im not that bigtime around here at all... lol This offline forum as a matter of fact is the smallest part of WF practically... The guys in the big room dont even know I exist.

You dont have to defend yourself to anyone...You havent said one word on this forum that sounds questionable, I was just messing with you because of what you said, and also taking an opportunity to teach something... Also I didnt know that the "Wank meister" edited their post. lol

    I believe you bro...!

If you were perceived as a total poser, then we would go all Warrior Ben on you!

Welcome to the offline boiler room... It gets hot in here sometimes, but this here thread is like a glass of ice tea compared to what we do with real posers. lol

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

I hope you won't take this personally-we all have our areas of ignorance, but you happened to chime in about one of yours, and your comment is an insult to all the creators of excellent WSOs, of which there are many, and I am friends with a few and a fan of a many of them. It is ridiculous how much value is being given in some of these amazing packages selling for $9 or so.

Not only is what you said totally wrong factually; it is clear you didn't think through the practical impossibility for you to review most WSOs, let alone all of them, which you'd have to do to make your statement with authority. If you had you would have realized how silly it is to claim to know what is in all of the thousands of WSOs posted.

If you don't want them, don't buy them, but I suggest you stop claiming that they are "all" this or that. You can't possibly know.

Sorry, I should've stated "based on my experience" and "most of the wsos are..." instead of being so direct about it. I was generalizing as the WSOs you're talking about are a few in hundreds. Sometimes even the WSO of the Day is full of cr@p so I was a little bit ticked off at that... As to stop buying WSO, I did for a quite while now Thanks for the advice though.

Are you talking about: http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...500-today.html ?

If so, almost everyone has been saying that it doesn't function properly... "The account creator is slow," "The accounts gets banned fast," and etc. I believe it's also a copy of AtomicTweets, which ATM is also having bad reviews from current customers.

Believe it or not, it was a real epiphany moment, and not a prelaunch. The whole premise of this thread tells me that you may believe that though... so... anyway... Anybody that knows me here knows Im smart enough not to be so obvious if I wanted to pre launch.

    ... that was a sincere "ah-ha" moment.

On writing "books"....I try to deliver Allen alot of Value, not only do I have 2500 posts (ooops 2,795 wow, havent looked in awhile) , but the majority of them are 10 or 20 times the the volume of content of the average poster... So I hope that is accomplished.

The content spinners sure dont complain.

You may not be digging, but alot of people who make statements like that mean them in a malicious sort of way.... So I thought I'd explain.

.... BTW, havbent finished my coffee yet!

I love reading books, so no complaints there. I was just saying you spent all that time writing you failed to read that I never edited my post. Even the 2 "wanker" comments didn't offend me. Kind of weak, though, seeing you made them on false reasons.

Digging? For what? I have no alternative intentions here and I call things like I see them. I know words on a discussion forum are hard to convey feelings, and the attitude may be difficult to decipher, but there's nothing malicious coming from me.

Your initial post didnt get buried, it got turned a valuable contribution while you slept! (You're welcome, and seriously THANKS. I mean that sincerely).
I wasn't referring to my initial post. I was saying post #4 (the post believed to have been edited) got lost during process.

Again, nothing malicious and I appreciate your posts. I've even contributed to your coffee fund by purchasing a few of your products, so I'm aware of what you're about. I was just making an observation and a tongue-in-cheek suggestion to re-name the forum. If folks got offended, then we all know why.

You will Im sure... This isnt a prelaunch, but seeing more reports is inevitable. Actually the epiphany was just a seed that sprouted....I hope it grows and I started seeing ideas for making that come together.

When people EXPECT reports from you, you dont have to hide and pretend like you dont write them... I think my own customers get impatient for something NEW sometimes actually.

ok..just my 2 cents but I kind of agree with the OP. It's annoying to me when someone makes a thread like *what are you doing to utilize facebook in your business..or here's what I'm doing with facebook*, then they have a facebook wso in their signature. So I see how that could be a little *suspect* but I don't think it happens that much and you can kind of tell when someone is just promoting their sig. They may only have a few posts and they give those lovely short answers like *yes, oh really, no way* lol But it's no big deal, just don't buy the wso if you don't want to!

Hey guys its called POST baiting and its a marketing technique that people use on this forum to of course drive traffic whatever they have in their signature link, wso or not.

Now this IS a marketing forum in the purest sense so if you are coming here expect to be marketed too.

Why on earth would I make a post about dog food if I was promoting cat food right? Its just silliness to expect people who have products to not post relevant topics about it.

Now, what you have to do is see if the actual post helps you, gives information you can use, etc. If it doesn't then the poster is an idiot in the first place and doesn't deserve to get your click on his signature link.

I understand the whole concept completely...dude.

It's also a place to LEARN first and foremost, NOT to be sold to. The WSO section was made for that. I'm just making an observation on what's been going on. Those that are the ones to complain about this thread are doing so for obvious reasons. Unlike some, I don't need this forum to make money from other members, so you'll not see a link to some product or training program in my sig, much less try to get discussion going just to promote it.

Again, I get what's going on and why folks do it. However, most of the time, it's so blatantly obvious.

I started this thread because I'm not making any money? And to not care what one does or sells here only if you're selling something too makes everything ok? So, if someone is stealing material and re-selling it, or if someone is ripping someone off, it's ok by you, just as long as that person isn't in your niche and you're both making money in the process? Is that ok then?

Who am I ruining it for? Those that are doing the selling and trying to rustle up sales in the other sections of the forum? My bad. I apologize for having an issue with this. Continue on with your operation.

I don't have issues with people contributing quality posts that happen to have something in their signature of the same topic. I've purchased WSOs this way a few times. No big deal. Like I've stated plenty of times in this thread, the issue is starting threads with intentions other than starting conversation, when we all know it's to promote their signature.

I'm not one to knock one's hustle, but it seems to have become the norm for the Offline section and the newly-found Mobile section. So, why not just re-name these sub-forums "WSO pre-sale Forum"?

Yeah this thread IS an epiphany. I made a move yesterday thats going to revolutionize my own forum, as a result of your use of the word "whoring". Lol (Dont want to be associated with that in other words).

Yeah baby, its a new horizon!

Why stand on the street corner when you can own your own turf?

Me and my VIP's are going to start owning our turf more...!! And maybe yours too! lol

    Watch out!

Look out for Rus Too, the premier list making professional on this forum. Lots of good stuff in store. Its a new fresh beginning for TMF, its our second year, and we just got our second wind.
