Be seen as an authority

Hi all

I haven't been hanging in the offline forum much lately as I'm trying to transition more to strictly online, but I came across a post in the main forum which I thought would be of some help to you.

I should state beforehand that I've never used this method in my offline services but I thought it had a lot of potential. It's about writing an ebook and printing a hard copy. It can be done super cheap using Amazon's pay on delivery service.

Can you imagine the leg up that you would have by presenting a free copy of your hard cover book to those who sit and have a meeting with you? Definitely a surefire way to stand out from the crowd...

Actually I have been meaning to implement that strategy in my marketing, I heard that it works pretty well...I believe there is WSO on here about exactly how to do that..

The biggest hurdle I see with this method is actually getting a book written that actually has valuable information in it.

Cool - author=authority. Well here's a hint. There is PLR for this! I have a few books I've 'written' Just having a hard time deciding which one to use for self-promotion!

Here's another angle. Publish it on Kindle, then give it away as a PDF. Gives it more value if they see it's actually published albeit electronically.

This is a huge way to create tons of credibility and authority. I have been suggesting it to others for years and will sit down soon to release some of my own. It is true that it takes time, but it’s almost a must if you want to establish yourself in every facet.

Thank you my friend for the reminder. Those of us full of knowledge and experiences in the business world need to record it in written form. The world we live in has given authority to many who do not deserve the title simply because of being an author of a book.

In "Book Yourself Solid", the author states that a published book is a three-pound business card - and it is much harder to misplace or ignore.

Being a published author lends weight and credibility, even to those that never read your book.

Self-publishing has never been easier. Kindle publishing is ridiculously simple.

Yes, it is simple! I started working on editing my PLR book tonight about an hour and a half ago. And now I am published on Kindle. Well there is probably about a 12 hour turnaround for approval. But all my work is done and that included a LOT of editing of my PLR report.

Definitely one place this will help is by putting the link to my Kindle book on my LinkedIn page. And on my websites, where I am offering them my book for free in exchange for their signing up to my list, I can point links to my books on Amazon. And put links to my Amazon books in my About sections! The possibilities are great here

I would create a section in the back and front of the book that says something like "Have a question about XYZ?" "then go to www dot landing page dot com"

Create a specific landing page for that book that collects the email, name, phone...etc

Build leads and use that to launch new services.

I'm in the process of this right now.

Hmmm... creating a specific landing page to collect leads is also a great idea! I`m hoping Kindle allows editing and re-uploading new versions without too much hassle.

Of course my main web address is in the book, and my email also, and there is one link to a redirect through my site to a unique product that offers a solution to one method discussed in the book.

Priced at 3.99. The book is a report, approximately 20-25 pages.

Good luck with yours and post back with your progress too!
