Setting up business structure

I'm just getting my business going and I have a question about registering it. I know exactly how to do it and all, but what I'm thinking is some kind of catch-all business name, which may not necessarily say "websites" or "development" or "SEO", etc. in the name. This way all of my business online, offline and completely non-internet related business can come under it.

Does anyone do anything like this?

Hey there, it sound like your business will be selling a variety of services and products. This can be a challenge in branding and marketing with a catch all name like that. What value do you want to communicate to your target audience? Is it the same target online and offline?

    I'm going with a region/city/state name + 'media' + noun

    example :

    Columbus OH Media Services
    Frankfurt Media Group
    Cloverdale Area Media Associates
    Arizona Media Professionals

Mainly because I want to brand myself locally. I understand that a broader name would have more appeal if I expand my business or try to sell it to someone from out of state, but I figure if I get big enough to rename, I'm big enough to afford it.

Now that being said, I would use a name + media group for a catch all. Arizona Media Professionals a division of The Valor Media Group. And I would make sure I got that name trademarked, got an LLC and hired a lawyer and accountant to keep everything in line.

Personally I like to separate my offline and online as they are different clienteles, different services and different price points.

      Might want to consider an acronym. Here's an example;

      Special
      Web
      Online
      Marketing
      Professional

      SWOMP , Inc.

When people ask you SWOMP stands for, your answer is a lead in to
      explain your services, etc.

This name isn't a keeper, but an example.

You'll be amazed at what you can come up with if you write out about ten plus targeted words that fit you and your biz and use your imagination just a bit.
