Like any real business, making good money takes time. Don't buy the hype that you just drop into anything and have big paydays right out of the gate.

You CAN absolutely be successful and make money. But you have to learn the ropes and figure out how to do it. Very few "systems" work exactly for anyone. Believe me...I've tried most of them.

One of my favorite billboards: a picture of a light bulb, and it reads: EDISON; on the 10,000th try, there was light.

And all silliness and Successories-style billboarding aside, local businesses do need SEO. But make sure you know what you're doing well enough to offer it to them. Learn the needs of those businesses -- what their biggest pain points are -- and then speak to that. If you have a workable solution that answers those challenges, and can back it up, you'll make a boatload.

Also, check out the book "Influence" by Robert Cialdini. Great for learning how to sell without being a salesperson.

i just think the method that i will use is kinda cool and can deliver results.

Well basically i will be calling and not selling anything on the initial contact. Instead i will tell them we are runnig a free traffic report for them and find out why they arent getting any customers thru their website.
And ask for their email address so we can send the free report for them.

i will send them a very detail email with pictures about how many searches per month their business gets and show them whos taking advantage of them.

and the final step will be to call them and follow up with them and tell them i can help them take advantage of all that traffic.

well to me it sounds like a great idea i just don't know if i will be able to close a deal in the same day.
i read thru john durham stuff and i see he has a lot of reviews from his students who saw results withing the same day.

i hope i can do the same

Awesome -- I'm sure you can make it work. I was trying to say not to expect huge paydays right off the bat; it takes time.

You might also want to think about going to networking groups and approaching there. At least it's not a TOTAL cold call that way -- you can shake hands with someone, get to know them, and then do a soft pitch.

Of course it's possible. Especially in offline marketing. Landing one client can earn you a residual income of $997/month. And that's only from one client. Get one client a month for a year and you're in for a smooth $140K+ year.

but initially i think i can charge that i was thinking more like 299$ per month

But who knows maybe when i get more experience i will be able to charge that much.

It is but it depends on whether you'll be meeting with businesses and their owners one at a time or in a group setting. If you can do a group setting it could make closing the sales you need a lot easier because you've got the decision makers all together in one room and energy is contagious.

You have to make sure you are prepared which means 3 hours of prep time per 1 hour of talk time. This is the minimum! To achieve your tasks you'll want to understand your presentation. What I mean is if you have to talk with one business at a time you should know how long the presntation takes so you'll know how many appointments to make, what times of day, and with what type of businesses.

Trade something for money. Either a product or a service. If you dont have a product or a service, make a commission selling someone else s product or service.

instead of making 500-1000$, shoot for 50$ the first day.. that should be must easier, right?

Crazier things have happened! Sure, it's possible, but as others have mentioned, it usually takes a great deal of work and it is rare. I do wish you the best with your goals though.

Sure, it's possible. Probable? Now that's another question.

I could do it today from scratch, buy a ready built site, buy a scraper or list, find a script, pick up your phone and call consistently for a full day. If you can't afford to buy the things above, they can all be done for free too with a little extra work.

Failing that just ask every person you know if they need some seo work done or know anybody that does.

This is pretty much what I did my first day and sold a £300 site with £50 a month residual.

Think I made 200+ calls that day, how things have changed.

I have also been studying the market, as I am new to the idea of making money online.

I have picked a market niche and focused on it. It is very easy to get distracted by lots of ideas.
Have one idea and stick to it. Better to be a "master of one trade" than a "jack of all trades".

I fully agree with starting slowly. Do not expect to make $1000 on day one. It might be possible, but not in my experience (which isnt alot).

If you can may money everyday, your business will grow. $20 will turn into $50, $50 to $100, etc.

This way, I feel you truly learn your market, and it gives you time to hone your skills

1. You have to be able to sell.
2. You need a product or service to sell that is worth what you are asking
3. You have to have a way to contact the potential customers.

If you cold call this is likely to work if you hit the numbers and call loads.
If you cold walk it will be harder but can be done as well.

Email and snail mail will not work in one day.

Yes but probably more likely to sell 10 people a $97/mn service in one day then a $1000 service. MOST of my sales are a minimum of two days on the higher end.

So....
You want to Call them and get their e-mail address (most won't give it). Then run a report on their site (how accurate is this, where are you getting the data to back it up). Then send them an e-mail (might not even check it today). Then call them back to close the sale.

The odds of managing to get three contacts with a business person in one day (2 calls and an e-mail) are pretty slim and will get you labeled as a pest.

i didn't take action until yesterday, which was monday
and today i got 3 meetings, and i close one for $900 for SEO.

i think he meetings didn't go all that great, but i was honest with the business owner,
i told him " before i go into any details i want to let you know that i am not a sales person, i have never actually been on a meeting, so if i seem a little nervous is because i am, but please don't based on that on the ability i have to deliver the service that i offer". and i laughed it off, and he laughed too and told me it was okay that there is a first time for everything.

anyways, i got the sale on my second day of taking action.
this is the first money i make and now i am motivated and i know i can do it, dispite some comments here on this thread.

i have made more money in 2 days than i used to make in 1 week when i used to serve at a restaurant in my past job.

i am super happy, and tomorrow i have 4 more meetings, hoping to close a 2 of them and surpass the $1,000 dollar day which is my goal

Thats up to you and what you do in the next twenty four hours, there are certainly a ton of possibilities.

Good news: You "can" promise that to yourself and make it happen.

It all depends on how you close the deals. It is definitely possible no doubt about that because it is also possible that you already have a good circle of friends you can propose a deal with.
