How Many Links Per Keyword Should One Be Building?

For a single person entering or building links for a domain, how many links should they be building per keyword?

What number determines "good work" being done per month?

That is, of course, assuming that proper keyword research conducted and good keywords have been chosen.

Anyone?

    Hi There,

In my business I don't think I have been able to reach the perfect number of links per keyword that works across the board. Each keyword is different in terms of competition so it really depends on each keyword you are trying to market.

Keyword A may need 100 backlinks whereas Keyword B may need 500 to reach the same spot in Google. So it's hard for me to say the magical number. Also, keeping in mind that there are a lot of other factors involved in SEO now a days and not just link building.

Thanks, but is that per month or is that to get to page one? I'm trying to formulate some standards for myself.

    hey there,

There are just so many unique factors now n days. If your using the appropriate software, you can check out the competition ranking on pg 1 for each keyword and break down the value of those links. One guy might have 300 weak links, another might have a link from the better business bureau + 50 more links & rank numero uno. There are many, many factors to take into consideration...

      I understand what you're saying.

Essentially, no two links are the same, and that's not even factoring in what's on the domain you're trying to rank. As in the optimization of it.

I'm thinking trying to get links that allow me to work in the double digits per keyword per month, like less than 50. That's a lot for one person.

I'm not really using that many tools, as of yet, doing things the classic, basic way, brunt force, myself, bit-by-bit, link-by-link.

      Thanks for your feedback guys.
