First Cold Calling Experience Web Design
I opened my notepad and created a script to read while making the calls. I put it in all capital letters to make it an easy read and removed certain words that would cause me to stumble and ended up with this:
"Hi ____, MY NAME IS TIM GRAVES, I OWN A WEB DESIGN COMPANY IN _____________. AND IM OFFERING DISCOUNTED WEBSITES TO "Niche" IN YOUR AREA .I NOTICED THAT YOU DON'T HAVE A WEBSITE AND WAS WONDERING IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED.
I got two companies who wanted to talk at a better time being that it was closing time and two others who would be on vacation but were very interested in learning more.
I also had an interesting conversation with a lawyer who told me that he used to sell websites for ten years and had no use for one in his business because people who contact him often want free advise. He told me this deters most attorneys from accepting web design and that they would prefer word of mouth.
Although I didn't get any solid clients today,I am motivated to close at least two tomorrow now that I know that cold calling really isn't all that bad.
