SEOPressor Over-Optimizes

Was reading an older article on SEOMoz, and if it's older, it reigns even more true today. However, it was saying that you should not have keywords in the h1, h2, h3, image tags, etc. But SEOPressor says to have all of those. It even tells me to have it in my content a ton of times, 2-5% which ends up like 10+ instances in my text.

Does this all sound right? or is seoPressor over-optimizing?

    SEOPressor is overrated.

Keyword in title is nice, but not "if you didn't do it, google will punish you" rule.

Keyword in H1, H2, H3? Your content will look like a spam blog.

    Anything better than SEOPressor?

It depends on what you're looking to use it for?
There's quite a few good ones in the WSO section. Just search for 'themes'. Elegant Themes has quite a few good ones to pick from.

Keep looking, the perfect one will present itself eventually.

So any ideas on what I do for this situation? Any other plugins or just wing it?

Anyone besides me having trouble with SEOPressor? Mine seems to ignore all it's own rules for optimizing my blog post. Just curious...

Mine ignores "Starting content with the keyword" rule. It won't recognize it's there.

For those that said " just your mind", have you ever used a plugin to help with on-page seo? I'm now unbiased, but if there is something to miss. I was wondering if you know you're not missing out, because you've tried them and disliked them?

I used to use SEO pressor when I was into niche sites, ended up editing its code completely to fit what was actually working for me at the time. Basically allowing other people who I paid to build sites to use my mind for on page stuff.

These days I hire guys who know what they're doing for my clients, they have a brief outline of what I think they should be doing but they all do it a little differently.

Thanks for the response massiveray. It just feels like the plugin is using the same algorithm since it's existence. More importantly, pre-penguin days. I guess I'll see if it works soon. If it proves to over-optimize, i'll have to get a refund. They do have a great 60 day refund policy though.

Just a quick FYI penguin had nothing at all to do with on page optimisation.

Ha, learn something new everyday. I was never actually affected by penguin, or panda, so never really looked into it.

    Grey,

On-page SEO is not that hard, just read good articles online (seomoz or search engine land for start), or few WSOs here talking about on-page SEO.

You don't need any plugin to help you with it.

I forget how much SEOpressor cost, but I remember that I shook my head back then when I first found out how much it is.

    #1 overrated plugin ever.
