IAmNameless - I am reading you backwards

Yup, I am taking this brand new month to read IamNameless backwards. There is a reason behind the madness, I promise.

The Why

When I first came to this forum a few years ago, I just happened to be kicked out of my own house because some asswipe made a fake title to my house, took out a mortgage and disappeared.

I did not know any of this until that knock at the door and did not know what to do considering I had a small child to take care of. He was 3 or 4 at the time...

I was sent on the IM direction by some older WF members and with their help, I started making some $$. Not a lot, but enough to get a new roof over our heads (a small trailer) with 2 acres of land etc.

I made a BIG thread on the OLD WF about it. For those that do not know, there used to be another forum until it was wiped out to make room for the one we enjoy today.

The person that did this to me was taken care of so there will be no questions nor answers about that particular time in my sons & my life.

Learned Lessons

My little boy did not complain once. Up to this day, we have learned how to do without and just use what we have.

Going from the little mini mansions to a completely ruined credit + a few other things that needed to be done because courts, police etc were of no help completely changed our lives.

We know now and are grateful for the little things like a good book, learning a new skill like Aquaponics, riding a bike together etc.

In short the tribulations that we went through, now that I see them from a different light, were a blessing to my son and I. My son and I are 1 today. The kid went from bratty to super respectful and understanding and I went from crazy clubbing daily to humble father.

The Money

After learning a few tricks here at the WF, winning a contest for John Reese's Traffic Secrets 2.0 also here and learning a few tricks at the unmentionable forums I was able to make enough money to just keep us surviving.

A few websites for clients here and there, pushing of CPA offers whenever we wanted and even building a full fledged "hosting company" for a client kept us afloat.

The Tools Learned

I started with HTML templates and then learned WP. I can also do WHMCS (hosting company software). Joomla & Tons of automated tools to make life easier.

A little bit of photoshop. Email scrapers and senders etc.

All of these tools have made me a "jack of all trades" if you will.

Bouncing Bouncing Bouncing

I have done tons of little jobs and some big jobs for clients that that I then forget about as I have been bouncing from thing to thing (not shiny widget syndrome)

Just bouncing between many different little things instead of concentrating on one like many of us have done.

Freedom?

Last week my son (who is now 9 years old) had a little fight in the school bus because some kids were calling him a "cracker" for days and messing with him. Never mind that my son is Puerto Rican & German he was the "cracker" of the week to these other bullies.

My son fought valiantly and lost against 2 other kids. Luckily, he was not suspended as we know a bus driver that was able to pull the security tape for us which we were able to show the principals and the other kids parents. Not to mention that I have one of those quiet kids that does not like to f**k with anyone.

His only problem, that I hate, is that he stands up for his little friends when they are called crackers and bullied etc. I keep telling him to mind his own damn business but he says that he doesn't like it when they call his friends racial names.

Anyway, we were talking about what happened and during the conversation my son asked:

"Papa, how do we get free? You know, like real FREEDOM?"

Profound question for a 9 year old and one I had no answer to at the time. Because I do not lie to my kid, I told him that I would have to think about it and find the right answer for us as "real freedom" means many things to different people.

Freedom - My Take on It

After pondering such a profound question from a child I came to the conclusion that freedom, real freedom is I am nameless new boat!

Let me explain.

I believe that I am Nameless was the person that was able to barter SEO for a yacht! So the answer for my child hit me like a ton of bricks.

Real freedom is enough money to do whatever the hell you want instead of being a slave for peanuts.

Freedom allows you to work from anywhere in the world while cruising the world in I am nameless boat.

Freedom allows you to go to the best schools and the better educated you are, the freer you are.

In short, being able to make the money that you need in command, being able to either send my kid to an awesome prep school or even home school him while we hop island to island learning and exploring together, that is freedom! At least to us.

It's Time

The conversation I had with my son about freedom during fishing pulled some things to light that I was not aware of.

First, my son is starting to grow up. He sees that there are kids in his school that get away with murder each and every day. It turns out that my son wants to "try a private/prep school" for middle school.

With all of the political situations being bombarded on TV my son is aware that these political people are millionaires many times over and I asked him to do the research on "all of these government" people to see if can can find what they all have in common and that I would help him do his own research.

Lo & behold, the kid took me up on it and he started with Obama & Romney. A few of our senators and house members and multi millionaires in general.

Our "research" (remember it was done by a kid) showed that 90% of the people researched went to the best private schools and colleges in the world. Those that did not, placed their kids in the best schools in the country.

Then came the question of how can "we" become like that so we can be free like them.

My answer: "We need I am nameless boat but in order to do that we need to change the current reality to a new reality."

With the new goal of changing my boy's education to private / prep schooling it is now time
to do some things different and concentrate in what needs to be done. Concentrate in a few core services for offline companies and build a full fledged company around those services.

The services

I am writing a plan in this thread tomorrow morning in the post right below this one to get your opinions.

I am Nameless - Reading You Backwards

Keeping with the theme I have going on with my boy about I am Nameless boat, I decided to read him backwards. I have read enough postings here on the WF to be able to tell those that do from those that teach.

I think I Am Nameless, John Durham and a few others are worthy of being read backwards here at the WF.

What I mean by this is breaking down ALL of their posting and threads from the very first one that they placed here in the WF as newbies to the ones they are posting today.

If you were to click on any warrior's name then view profile, there is a little tab call statistics. In this tab, you can search for all of their threads or all of their postings.

Once you do that, go to "the last page" of their results and viola! You are reading them from 'newbie' status to pro status so you can learn what makes these doers tick!

Conclusion

I Am Nameless is the first one I am breaking down because my son and I are going after that "boat" (freedom). I will then break down all of the other big players in the same fashion so I can 'grow as they grew".

By breaking down and learning things that work from the big boys, having the clear goal of placing Gabriel in private school and sticking and growing 1 company of related services that can be marketed to offline clients, I think we will be able to ride that boat to freedom...

I am breaking down those plans into short term (fast cash), Medium term (company growth) and Long term (the snowball effect).

I am also listing strengths and weaknesses and tools available at this time.

    Strengths
    • I can build websites in HTML, Wordpress & Joomla
    • I can build "hosting companies" with WHMCS & automate the whole thing for clients
    • I can build private web servers with email, DNS, http, firewalls etc
    • I can build VOIP phone systems
    • I can build Voice Mail Broadcasting system using Twilio
    • I can build SMS delivery systems
    • I can build Telemarketing systems
    • I can Refine Gold, Silver & Lead which ties up to my ebay sales
    • I can do some SEO
    • I know how to use direct mail and EDDM
    • I can do both English & Spanish
    Weaknesses
    • Suck at cold calling
    • Having a hard time finding new clients
    Tools available
    • WP and a ton of templates
    • WHMCS "web hosting" software
    • Voice Broadcaster
    • Photoshop, Indesign etc
    • Craigslist scraper & mailers with 10 gmail accounts
    • 3 Computers
    • Multiple internet connections
    • Phone system
    • Other specialized software to be used as needed
    The Plan

The plan is a 3 prong approach of related services.
    • Website creation and design
    • SEO Services
    • Hosting Services
These will be the core services offered to offline clients for both immediate payment and recurring payments. Simple plan and most important, it is a focused plan. The plan can also be implemented in both languages which are Spanish & English.

    Short Term

To make $2,000 to pay a few months of rent in advance so I can fully concentrate in building the new "focused" company.

The steps taken already to do achieve this goal have been the following:

    1. Built http://LoveGardeningNews.tk sales page and partnered with a Gardening fan page on Facebook with 30,000 fans to sell them Gardening ebooks and out of print, hard to find, public domain gardening books and information. Revenue split 50% - 50% This will be "launched" this week and I'm praying it works.

Other steps to take to achieve immediate goal and be able to set up my funnels for the focused venture.

    1. Write "Turning Lead into Gold" eBook & videos OTO. Might become a WSO. This is where I get lead (the metal) and refine it and sell it online doubling my initial investment each and every time.

    2. Build web design website and offer "Pimp, No Bullshit" website design services to Warriors that might need it in order to build a portfolio. Get it? Pimp, no BS

    3. Offer WHMCS website and automation creation services for Warriors that have hosting reseller accounts but do not have their 'hosting companies' set up yet.

I think these steps + the warriors for hire section will create the "start up" funds.

    Medium Term

To build the funnels for web design, SEO & hosting company. Fill said funnels with new clients. Pretty self explanatory.

    Long Term

To have built a successful web design, SEO & hosting company that actually brings new clients to offline businesses.

    Previous Work

I have built all kinds of stuff both big and small for clients in the past. Most recently I built

http://SavingsTitan.com for the Bob Ross Method

http://UnicaRed.com (Spanish Web Hosting Company based on a regular reseller account)

The bottom line is that I need to focus in some core services instead of jumping all over the place while generating new clients for local offline businesses so I can do what I promised my boy.

The plan is to stop doing 20,000 things at once and concentrate on a few core skills/services.

Because we are all on the same line, I think that breaking down what works from successful warriors is the way to go. Also, my boy will get to see something grow from a tiny seed into bigger and better things and that kind of education is priceless.

I just told him not to worry about is as I KNOW that a lot of you will help with guidance, tips and trick to make this a reality

The tip of a womans shoe will break ground quicker than a big wide elephants foot. Focus is ALWAYS more powerful.

Edit: Which, by the way, is a good lesson for all of us, myself being at the top of the list.

Love this thread! If people would stop throwing money/time at every "new" product and service or every single marketing trick out there, they would soon realize that just one or a few key ones would do the trick. This goes for those here on WF and the potential customers they are looking for. You do websites? Great, why are you cold calling, walking door to door, sending out post cards, and email blasting? Oh, because not all of them give you what you want? How about focusing on ONE and doing a damn good job and giving it your all...or how about analyzing WHICH 2 give you the best ROI? You can't keep up with it all, especially when you have no clue what you're doing, and which one is working. The amount of people that call us ready to shut down their efforts is ASTOUNDING. They are from WF and from the "other realm" and have never heard of WF.

What do you tell your restaurant owner when he says "I've done SMS messaging, I have a tv ad, I have coupons in mailers, and I have a FB page...I just can't do more, my money is spent and I need more business from those first"? I know what you think...you think "man this guy is throwing money at everything and I could help him if he'd just let me make him a website and tie in SEO." But guess what...he won't listen, why? Because he thinks having a hand in every pot helps. Sometimes it does, but more often than not, people think that by dividing up their money/efforts they will reap benefits without having to monitor, put in thought or keep an eye on things. They think that the money will just return itself to them, and when it doesn't they get burned out.

Fortunately for our business this is a hard learned and hard taught lesson. (If people catch on, I might have to go back to straight cold calling.) When people get to us, they have moved past the urge to tell us how to market to their customers, they have lost the "looking over our shoulder" urge, they have realized that what they are doing isn't working and they need help. It makes me happy when people realize we are right and after seeing and hearing their marketing plan are excited again!

Please note as stated on a few posts above. I do not suffer from shiny stuff syndrome.

I suffer from "I'm building something new syndrome". This means that if you asked me to build you a VOIP system from scratch and I did not know how, I am simply going to learn it so I can build it for you! Take a look @ post # 2 above and you will see what I mean.

Then I get bored because I already know how to do it and I move on to some other big project.

Yes and no. I like to develop new things but I can sell too if I have to. Not like the awesome sales people we have here but I'll get there some day. I just need t focus on it.

If you read the story about Airflow above, that was a venture that took in a lot of sales.

My "clean Vietnam" venture that I started here in Florida which I have not written about yet made a TON of sales. I was actually going to people homes and leaving with a check 95% of the time.

& that is a real number!

Granted, I started a company that had a semi-monopoly as there were only 8 companies in the whole state doing what we did but we made sales... a ton of them

Looking at it from another angle, I guess it is the same thing. Doing 20,000 things at once whether 20K WSOs or 20K new experiments / ventures keeps one stuck.

This is it. Once you put together a plan and focus only on that things will start happening. The biggest problems of most people I talk to is "taking action & focus".

I liked John's women's heel bit. My favorite is "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." Don't try to take on the world in one day. Think to yourself each day...what can I do today to make things better. Just today. Don't worry about yesterday, tomorrow, or next week. Just today. Pick the low hanging fruit and attack what you can for that day. What can I do today to make money or reach my goal of making money? That's the question.

One thing though, I think your definition of freedom will change as you start approaching your assumed freedom. That boat, I sold. Boats suck money, insurance, maintenance, too much for me to deal with when I'm in the midwest! It was a pretty cool thing to get, it makes for a great story, but it caused stress for me!

If that's your goal, don't let anything stop you. Do what you have to do to get there. I just think your definition of freedom will change because freedom isn't established by politics, money, or things... it is established by you. You probably won't get that right away.

I don't think my posts even begin to explain or convey the REAL work involved in running a successful and growing business. It's tough... I love it because of the challenge. It isn't about money to me, it's about the challenge, implementing new techniques, strategies, and plans for world domination

If you do things right... you're a slave in your business so in the future you can exchange your slavery to freedom. People will argue that and quote some Tim Ferris BS to show how wrong I am, but whatever. I believe in massive growth, and I believe if you're not always trying to improve then you're settling for mediocrity.

You have to REALLY, and I mean REALLY want SUCCESS. Everyone claims they want to start their own business, be financially independent, set their own hours, not have to work as hard and blah blah blah but very few actually put in the work it requires to be successful.

Is it luck? Yeah, sure. It is CREATED LUCK that successful people experience. Right place right time? Yeah, because you were already doing enough of the wrong place wrong time type stuff that you finally created your own luck and had a break through at the right time.

When starting your own business.... IT IS YOU... that is DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for how much you FAIL or how much you SUCCEED!

You can read everything I say... John Durham, Ken Michaels, Chris Rivers, Jason Kanigan, Bob Ross, Ewen, and countless others that contribute to this forum but none of us are going to be doing work for you. Reading a bunch of my posts isn't going to get you a boat.. only you can get a boat.. only you are going to make some money and only you are going to be able to provide for your son.

    Good luck

Missing the point my friend. The boat is not what I am physically after. The boat represents 'freedom to move', to be flexible and adaptable like water. As avid fishermen, I use the boat as an example to my boy because it is something tangible that he can understand at his age.

Like I said before, freedom means different things to different people. At this particular time, the freedom goal we have set up is that we what to be free to be able to choose.

I want to be able to have the choice of changing my boy from public school to private school. Simple.

As we grow, there will be other 'freedom choices' that my son and I can shoot for but I can only do those as they come. I can only live for today, can't do shit about yesterday, but 1 thing I CAN do is to plan for tomorrow. See, freedom = choices.

I know that your posts don't even begin to explain or convey the REAL work involved in running a successful and growing business. But they will show the 'changes' you went through that made you focus on your main business which is all I ask for of this experiment.

It's not like I am going to spend all day in the WF trying to become you. I am going to take spare time in order to get my own focus, learn a few new things to implement and so forth.

I know what it takes to run a successful business. It's not like I bought a WSO and decided that "this is for me".

When I was 15 I "opened" my first business. My family had just moved from the Bronx to Waterbury, CT which was a completely different world. I started noticing how the other 1/2 lived and I wanted that. I wanted out of the ghetto mentality that had wrapped everyone I knew into settling. You have no idea how BAD I wanted out of it.

So I opened my first business! Airflow was my very first venture!

Simple business really. I always saw all of these little airplanes flying low towards "something" and started asking questions to find out where all of these planes were going day in and day out. See, you don't see this in NY so I found it interesting.

I asked a cop one day and he said that there was an small airport a few miles away so I jumped on my bicycle and went to see this airport.

You should have seen the looks of all of these people when I went to it on a bike!

The ruse was to ask about flying lessons so I could meet some people and start to "become friends" with the other 1/2.

A few weeks of going to this airport just to watch planes and wishing I could just jump on one and take off, I started noticing some owners asking the counter if they had a plane wash - Like a car wash but for planes.

So I took the plunge! Begged my mom for 2 new buckets, dish washing soap (the preferred soap to wash cars of those with the ghetto mentality), sponges for my new business.

Sold some of my stuff to my friend so I could get some business cards and Airflow was born!

EVERYONE, including my parents laughed at me and said that that was going to be a failure!

The first 2 weeks of bicycling to this airport with my sign did not new ANY clients. As I could only stand across the street with my sign and was not allowed inside the airport to 'peddle' my business it happened on the 3rd week.

An Italian man drove towards me in the most beautiful car I've ever seen! A red Porsche!

He asked a simple question and I faked it. "How long have you been washing airplanes?" A long time I replied...

He knew I was lying but said that he had a small Cessna that he needed washed and if I was ready to do my first job. He asked how much "my company" charges (which made me remember to hand him a business card) and I said $50! $50 measly dollars!

I knew no better but he said "Deal!"

You should have seen how proud I was that day walking my bike and bucket with my head on high because I was now INVITED IN to this airport full of snobs.

There was only one tiny problem with my whole business plan.... NO WATER! WTF! How could I not think of water!!!!!

Lucky for me, I had met a Puerto Rican guy that worked maintenance for the airport so I begged for a hose and water which was made available to me by the manager of the airport and Jose. I was up and running!

I have never worked so hard for $50! But it was the best money I made in my life. I worked on that plane for hours. Scrub, rinse, scrub, rinse, scrub, rinse while being supervised by my new Italian friend.

At the end of the day I learned the hardest lesson ever. He paid me with a crisp $50 bill. I accepted payment. Then he said that he would have paid me $250 for the job!! I told him 1/2 jokingly "then I'm missing $200" and he said that I set up the price and that I should keep my word when I agree to something, "specially if you shake hands with your client".

No biggie, I did my job, I got paid now it was time to go pedal back home and act rich! I just went from $0 to $50!!

Long story short - I would wash his plane once a month for $250 and because I was already washing a local plane the people at the airport started referring new clients.

I bought my first Mercedes (used 1971 Mercedes 220) which are the James Bond square looking ones at the end of my sophomore year. I bought my second one (1979 450 SEL) in my Junior year.

I had my little successful business at that airport for a few years. Met a ton of great people that thought me a lot about the world of business. I really thought that all you needed was a business card in order to have a "business" at that time!

A funny thing that happened within the first year of making real money ($250 a day during school week and $500 - $750 on the weekends) was my own parents resentments. I was making in a week what they made in a month and they actually resented that

I know that I am completely responsible for my own success of failure in business. I am also completely aware of my "jumping around" from thing to thing which is what I want to get out of this experiment - To focus on a small core of related services to offer offline businesses.

The work to create this new success story will rest entirely on my shoulders.

      Greenovni

PS. Maybe later I can tell you guys of my second success story "cleaning Vietnam" which made quite a bundle and allowed us to buy the mini mansions and all that related crap. It might give some people some ideas

That, is one of those hardcore truths that people who have never tasted success
... ( on any real level ) will ever understand.

BTW, i am from flatbush ... now in FL...

where in FL are you ?

Your story resonates with me. One because of the location, two because you
were knocked off of your pedestal ( as was I ) and three because you
are now transplanted in FL... as am I.

Good luck with that! The bullies are protected and to call them on it is "racist". + My boy is no longer having problems because they found out that he was "not a cracker" (and that he would fight back if pushed) if that makes sense to you...

It just so happens that once they saw that his dad was Spanish and that Gabriel is "Spanish" too they are now "cool" with him.

Does that make sense to you?

Amazing how that word racist only works in one direction.

I like your posts and will make you an offer of free publicity.

I own a site The Money Ferret - Finance Article Directory that you should look at and see if it fits your plans. I will chronicle your story on that site which will mean double exposure since the WF has a ton of google power.

We have some but not a lot so that may influence your decision. Either way, you will get more exposure. You can even post links in your articles on my site. Don't care since it'll help both of us. All I ask is you don't include trashy affiliate links. I want them to be to your website.

Also, if you don't have a website, my son will build one for you for free. I'll pay for it. Once you get up and running, you take over the costs.

I've never offered that to anyone but I think you have the potential to hit a home run every other time at bat.

It is your decision. I am NOT making this offer because I need the publicity or money. I make it because I want to make it. That word freedom you mentioned, I already have it. I think you should too.

                Greenovni,

I didn't think you did trashy aff links but if I don't say it then I feel bad. I sorta kinda say what I want to say and let the other guy walk with it. Works great that way.

As for the articles, please send them. The site is financial oriented so that's what I want. Be glad to publish them.

And your website, that's great you have it. The offer was there in case you didn't.

Would love to be back in Orlando/Daytona Beach. I miss that little ghetto. One day...

I won't be chronicling your story as it is your story. I don't like stepping into anyone's trek as my saying it can only dilute it. I don't want anybody doing that to me. On the other hand, if you want to do it, the offer remains open.

I'll keep reading your posts and see where you are.

                Have a great day,

If you don't mind sending me a pm w/your contact info, I will ask the big boss if he wants to talk w/you. I don't guarantee anything as he said he has people in Russia who will build it.

***k Russia, do it here according to me.

If he stills wants to stay there, well, so be it, but there will be more sophisticated web work. I guarantee it since I am planning on introducing some arenas for the company that will need it.

You will need all of your knowledge because these guys don't do squeeze page sites.

                    Freedom is wonderful...

Thanks Tom! Will send you the information in a little while. I like building things, the more complex the better. This is the reason that I've jump from thing to thing in the past, simply for the passion of learning & doing it!

Something that I've thought my kid is that we can do anything & the things that we do not know how to do has already been done and that knowledge is most likely at the local library.

With that said - I am working on Step 1 as we speak.

                    The website

I just wiped clean my domain YapTalk and performed a clean install of WP in order to build my main website.

This domain is 12 years old and I think I can brand "Yap Talk" for what I plan to do.

Now to start building the site out, settle on the core services and go from there.

Tom, I will write to you by tonight @ the latest my friend.

IAmNameless Quick question. Did you ever try out that thing you were doing with desks? The idea that you guys had of covering the desks with different papers & the glues?

If so, how did that do for you?

I think that is a cool project for a 9 year old to get started in his world of business.

This has been a good thread so far and I look forward to following it. I myself am starting to get discouraged as my results so far have been zilch. I too have been working on the bob ross method for about a month now, but I haven't been able to sell a single ad spot, even at the give it away price of $195. I love doing the graphic design stuff for myself, but have a hard time doing it for others. I can't bring myself to cold call. have bought a few other WSO's but none of them clicked with me. One I bought just to learn more about mobile websites (WillR's) Just feels like I trying to climb out of a never ending hole. I have been unemployed for a few months now and have been doing small jobs for money to keep going. Sorry for rambling and getting this thread off track, I am just looking forward to seeing what you come up with during your experiment.

Hey Rob. First let me tell you that the Bob Ross WSO is a great system. The problem I am having at this end is that people do not want to throw $$ in an 'unproven' postcard.

With that being said, I have not built the voice mail broadcasting system yet and given it a real push.

If you read post # 2 above, I too am having a cold calling block at this time. This makes no sense as I have worked in telemarketing before.

It's kind of funny, I worked for GM at a call center for dealer parts and service dept. support for 5 years. I have no problem talking to people on the phone. I just can't "sell" to them on the phone for some reason. I just feel so uncomfortable, lots of bad voices in my head.

I too am having a hard time getting people to take the "leap of faith" at something new when it comes to the post card. Not sure what to do with it now. I have also been reading on the Bob Ross forum, but haven't found much for ideas or help so far.

Being in the same situation as you with my postcard, I decided to put it in the medium to long term category.

I am concentrating in making immediate money to pay a few months rent in advance, then concentrating in the web design aspect of my plan and the other things that I will be building like the voice broadcaster.

Then the long terms like the postcards.

Even if I do not sell any spots at all, the knowledge gained from the WSO & bob's forum is awesome!

Simply because now I know how to send my own postcards for different programs.

      For example:

We all know that racial makeups congregate in different parts of the cities, so I would simply find out where the following groups live at in my local city
      • Chinese town in your city? - Date Asians Affiliate Offer
      • Latino Part of the City? - Date Hot & Spicy Latinas! Guaranteed Non-Bitchy & Children Free!
      • Black Part of the city? - Sick of Being Hit on By Thugs? Date a Non-Thug Brother Today!
      • White Part of The City? - Over Extended on Your Credit? Date a Millionaire Now!

The Bob Ross WSO can be used for MANY things besides selling spots my friend. You just need something to "pop" for you to get running.

Send me a PM, I might have an idea to make us both a few dollars

    Fantastic thread man.

I just wanted to show my support. I'm pretty much in the same place as you--I've had moderate success so far, but I really need to scale it up to be more than a regular job.

The best part is that for some reason when it comes to working for myself, all of my procrastination/determination problems go away.

Thank you! I hope that at least one person learns that doing 20K things at once / buying and trying 20K WSOs is not the way to go.

Funny thing, I feel change coming from inside. It's a weird feeling.

But with a clear goal as I have now for my son, things are starting to clear up within myself so I could get it done.

Oh haha, then maybe its a bit early.

I think I started on those stupid PTC when I was like 13 to get gaming point cards for runescape. Took me another three years to realize I was making those site owners tons of money and only making $10 for myself after months of work.

Sure. I asked I am nameless about this thread of his where he was going to different tag sales / flea markets and buying things there to sell for higher prices.

And another warrior stopped by and said

        "Definitely.

I used to get furniture for free, spend about 30 minutes using some decoupage on it, and I could sell it for a few hundred bucks. (Mostly desks that had a bad writing surface - simple fix.)

Honestly, there is SO much money you can make if you just keep your eyes open! "

which is what I was asking about.

Cool little idea, all spelled out for you in the thread above.

About "cleaning Vietnam" that would be a post with a few thousand words which is a post for another day.

He actually asked me if he could have his own website so he could review stuff "like he used to do". The used to do part was a series of 2 videos where he reviewed this game on your tube

So he's been dabbling a little online already. My job is simply to keep him clear from PTC websites

Notice how "He'll see you on the next video" lol

Honestly, if he's interested in something.

Just set him up with a Youtube channel (maybe a blog that posts the videos), and let him go at it.

If he likes doing it, and does it for fun in his free time, after a few years or whatever he will have grown the channel a ton and at that point he will start to realize that all his hard work has paid off in a different way.

Kinda like how some people do a personal hobby blog while they are working on IM, and then months later, they realize they have a ton of traffic just because they were writing about something they loved and it built itself.

This post has been very encouraging and I look forward to following your progress.
Kudos to you for encouraging your son to be an entrepreneur. Even though I have a full time job I still own 2 other businesses and my wife is self employed. Our 10 year old twins are always wanting to help, and they earn money for working with us. They also want their own business/stream of income. My wife is setting up blogs for them and they are both working on writing their first Kindle book.

I always had an entrepreneurial spirit and my parents didn't encourage it. "Your get ahead by having a job" type of mentality.

So my "hats off" to you for your parenting skills, it will be an awesome journey for both of you.

He sounded pretty adult-like for his age, based off that video. He's definitely cut out for something good.

Who knows, maybe in a couple of years we'll be hearing his success stories on this forum!

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "you know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

to me it is interesting that your son is the age 9.

in my family, 9, is when you become a MAN.

The day after your 9th birthday ... you start to ...

    * Learn how to drive ( even if you cannot reach the pedals )
    * Clean / load / fire . rifle and hand gun.
    * Kill / clean / eat animals.
    * Dojo
    * Programming
    * Job. ( yeah 9 is below legal standards.. my family doesn't care about the law )

    * and a few other things... that i will leave out, because it is just weird ...

Wow, there is a lot of good insight on this thread! Make sure that you take what John and Nameless are saying to heart. Too many times entrepreneurs read something and know it's good advice, but don't follow it.

For example, do you have a list of your goals written down on a piece of paper? How many times have you heard you should have your goals written down?

My one piece of advice is pick one thing to work on and stay focused on that one thing. I was guilty of always looking for the next big thing until I realized it wasn't going to do S*it for me because I never put enough time into one particular thing to see if that will work.

    Good luck and stay focused!!
