I purchased that WSO and it's actually quite good. Of course, you're only spending a small amount, so it's not exhaustive training, but it gives you a decent start and with a little more digging around you can build on what's provided in that WSO. If you want to play with the big boys, though, you'll need to invest a lot more than $7 learning the ropes.

One note of caution, PJ mentions that some companies rank well because they use the keyword in place of a business name. He admits that he isn't certain if it's against Google's rules and will get your listing deleted, but I would like to confirm that it IS against the rules and will get a listing removed. As long as you're aware of Google's quality guidelines, his course will serve you well.

Good point about the keyword as the business name, I know the rules say no extraneous use of keywords in the rules. Usually if I have the keywords actually "IN" the domain I'll include them with the business name. Haven't had any troubles with that to date. hmm

I've used this method as well and has been working fine with me, specially if you have H1 Tag with the business name and keyword in there as well it helps... I created a listing 1.5 years ago for dentist, just to test out stuff and the business name was: Location Dentist and the website was locationdentist.net filled out basic information and never touched it again, only did a couple of things here and there the listing is ranking G spot for competitive field. My other trial listings aren't in the 7 pack but are ranking in top of page 2.

That's great that you haven't had any issues. Guidelines state that the business name has to be the actual business name. I've had some clients approached to provide business papers lol

Do you have a link to the rules you're citing, Russ? I sure hope you're right
