Is it a locksmith?

I know they block those from being submitted.

The dreaded 'do not support this local business'. I have found it is best to move on to greener pastures depending on what you're trying to do..

That is a a common known Google bug, usually happens right after you enter your PIN.. Google has been working on fixing that bug but still no luck all you can do is wait it out.

If you have 5 minutes, I suggest you at least try:

1. Clear your browser cache
2. Got to private browsing (Control + Shift + N in Chrome)
3. Use a fresh new Gmail account to create the new Google Places listing

Step 3 is very important, because if you do something strange Google may suspend all your other listings.

• It can be a temporary problem I think. This kind of issues can take place during server problem. Try again 2-3 days later and I hope you will not have the same issue. It will be better if you use a fresh gmail for the new listing as @squadron said.

That message is the norm after you verify a listing. It can take about a week before a listing gets a live URL.

In the dashboard you'll be able to see if your listing is "active" or "pending review." If it's pending review, you should go through all the info entered with a fine-tooth comb to see if you've violated any guidelines. There's a link to the guidelines right in the dashboard (bottom-right of the page).

Make any changes you can / need to and resubmit.

If you're still pending after a week or so, it wouldn't hurt to visit the troubleshooter to ask for advice:

My listing has incorrect information.

Go through our step-by-step troubleshooters to find Help articles that can assist with your issue. And if we still haven't answered your question, fill out the short form at the end of the questions to

Be sure to make it clear that you went through the guidelines and can't find what you've done wrong.

Common mistakes that trigger a review status:

1) Categories are done incorrectly. (keywords, geo terms, duplicate categories)
2) Geo terms / keywords in the description. Keep these out if you can.
3) Not hiding your address if you service clients at THEIR location and your address is a residential address.
4) Service area too large. I keep it to 20 miles.

Locksmiths? They do have issues. Make sure you choose a single category (Locksmith) perhaps a second (Key Duplication Service). Make sure you hide your address. Keep the service radius area tight or define a reasonable service area list.

Fill out hours of operation and methods of payment clearly.

For the URL, use a clear landing page with all of the above info on it, too. You need CLEAR contact info.

In short, the locksmith has to look really professional.

But I will repeat... the "Location not supported" message is no big deal in itself. Unless there's an issue, you'll be live in a week.

Hope that helps.

• Kung Fu Backlinks offered lots of good info.

But here is the current official state of the do not support issues.

1) Currently there is a delay and After PIN verifying you can see that message for UP TO A MONTH.

It can take new listings a week to show live. But after that you can still get the do not support message. Just search for your listing on maps with phone or name and city and you should be able to find it. If so then your listing is fine and the only problem is that your link in the dashboard just does not sync yet.

2) (Above is official from Google, next is IMO but very accurate) If it's NOT a newly verified listing and you get do not support it's NORMALLY A PENALTY. Occasionally it's a bug but more often than not it's a veiled penalty and instead of warning you with suspended in the dashboard they just delete the listing or show do not support.

The most common reason listings are deleted and show do not support is due to violating the hide your address rule. Google has deleted HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF BUSINESS LISTINGS. If you have a home office OR are a service area business even with an office but only go out to service customers you should hide your address or you are at risk.

Many businesses have been deleted for months and can't get back up even if they try to create a new listing. They are just black balled. So this is nothing to mess around with.

If your listing gets deleted and you get the do not support message, be sure everything is cleaned up and pristine, then contact support per these instructions.
Google Groups

But again if new PIN do not support is normal for up to a month. Search maps if it's been more than a week and you'll likely see your listing is just fine.

Yes if you are a service based industry you are required to hide your address or you will get removed.
