Going to hire an outsourced cold caller... how do I get started?!

We don't have a sales team onboard and we're looking to ramp that up. We sell logo design services and our market is HUGE - i mean any small business can use a revamp for their logos.

We got approval for a small budget to do this and I've been looking at freelancer sites and found some pretty good cold calling guys.

My question is... how do I start? Where do I get the phone numbers? What program do the outsourced employees even use?

Does anyone have any experience?

Let me google it for you.

Most commercial lists come from the same source, but there are alot to choose from. Most are also compatible with most call center's technology.

The best advice is to generate your own warm leads but that can take time, testing, advertising, and investment. Most commercial call lists will do just fine.

Offer the telemarketers a cash bonus, paid at days end, on the first day, for the first three sales of the day. If its a motivating one (maybe 50 bucks), they will start popping for ya trying to get that cash, and the cream will rise to the top.

You may lose 150 bucks, but you will gain months of sales, as opposed to going weeks with everyone wondering if they can do it or not. Once they prove it to themselves then its smoother, a highly initial cash bonus can get them to that point faster.

After they have proven to themselves that they can do it, it will move along for you.

As for hiring employees, career builder works the fastest for me. You dont want the cheapest telemarketers- you want ROI.

Cheap telemarketers that cost less but dont make sales for a week, in effect cost MORE.

"ROI" is what you are after.

First, set qualifications you require for the job. Then go to Elance, Freelance or odesk to look for contractors who can provide you with what you need.

    Alfred,

How much are you planning on paying your cold callers per hour/per day?

Have you tried googling it yet? I see that John has done if for you already You're next step is to take some time to read, and soak it all up. There's many good resources here on the forum too that can help you too.

But if when it comes down to hiring your staff - TRAINING is the most critical part of this process by far. Your assistant will be a direct reflection of your company. Make sure they know the product, sales script, rebuttals INSIDE AND OUT before you launch.
