I have a 14 day 'vacation' that I took strictly so that I would have some alone time with my business. I currently use many marketing methods for my business but for this, I'm going to be cold calling.

I'm not very good at cold calling as I don't know a lot of the technical stuff, but I don't have a problem dialing and talking to people.

I have been scraping leads for the past week in prep. for this 14 day calling frenzy. Unfortunately I only have about 1k leads. It came to mind that maybe I should just scrape other locations and try closing on the phone. But I'm a little unsure as I have always closed sales in appointments.

I typically use a very simple script that I have put together from material on here. I know it works because it has converted appointments. I just don't want to start wasting time by calling non-local areas and trying to close over the phone since I don't have much experience.

I know I'm probably over thinking everything but I'm trying to plan this well. Things have been rough and I'm really looking to use this time to dig myself out.

I suppose my question is...

If you where to start from scratch, with a phone, what would you do?

    For me personally the last resort would be cold calling! I would have to be very desperate.
    Have you considered direct mailing?

    My advice to you is, since you say you have always closed sales through appointments, I would recomend that you stick with that, as that is where you already have some skill built up.

    So Leverage the skills and knowledge you already have.

    Then once you have made a few sales (could even be 1 sale, you decide) then you can start testing out how to do one close calls.

    But first use what you know to make the initial sales and the initial income.


    Something else that you can even do is decide for every 2-3 appointments you set, change your strategy for the rest of the calls you are going to make that day and try to do a one close call.


    This way when you are "learning" how to close a sale on a call, you feel comfortable already knowing that even if you fail making that sale on the call it's ok cause you already have 2-3 appointments setup for the next day or two, so you are covered.
