Pretty Cool: Aaron Doud Getting Exposed to Sales Gurus 240,000 Followers

I've been following and absorbing a lot of info from Sales Guru
Grant Cardone lately and I've been learning that in this economy
you really have to get attention in the marketplace to survive or
become obscure. There's a lot of great info he's putting out but
coincidentally one of the warriors who's posts I enjoy reading got
some pretty good exposure today.

It's funny I was just reading a thread on here and saw Claude and then Aaron
comment on a subject. I then opened up a new tab and went to Grant
Cardone's twitter to check on any new videos or articles he's put out
and to my surprise I saw Aarons pic on one of the tweets.

That's right. It was unmistakable because he has the same avi on this
very forum for his twitter handle.

Grant Cardone has almost a quarter million twitter followers that are people
people spread out in different business niches wanting Grant's advice. He
has a really dedicated following .

Talk about getting exposure. Anyways I thought that was pretty darn
cool.

    Yeah been testing what I should post to get him to retweet me. I've been getting him to retweet me at least 50% of the time I put out "bait" lately.

    The lesson here is if you want to interact with a certain person on tweeter (or social media in general) you need to study them and learn how to tag them in tweets they will value. Also never spam them or beg for retweets. Do it too often and they will ignore you. Provide some value and some promotion for them and they will likely retweet you.

    As for why I have been doing this.... He is clearly in the same niche I would be if I decide to go into sales training and consulting. So worth getting him in the habit of noticing and retweeting me. Also from a sales stand point the guy pays very well so if I ever need a job in Miami I would like him to know who I am.

    Met him in person before at a conference and he's a great guy. Hopefully next time we are at the same conference I can join one of his dinner groups. I plan to contact him next time I know we will be at the same conference and ask to join. Remember you get a "no" to 100% of the requests you don't make.

    He is the king of social media in the sales training niche. It only makes sense to cultivate a relationship. Even if it is just one retweet at a time.

      Funny you should mention it but I was actually making notes on a few book ideas yesterday. Just need to get some time. Aka I need to make it a priority.

      Remember we all have the same amount of time. We just need to make things a priority to get them done. Which so far I have not done.

      Knowing people are interested in it though does give me more motivation to actually stop being lazy. Thanks for being a patient fan. I hope the wait will be worth it

    I cold called his office not long ago. Upon a few followups I was able to get in. It doesn't matter how rich or famous somebody is...if you have something to say...you can get to them.

    Aaron: Check out the software Scrivener - it will help you write your book much faster!

      No you didn't! Grant's policy is "say yes to everything." Try again!

      EDIT: Grant now has a big push into RETAIL - I'm sure he would love to give some tips for small business owners.

      EDIT #2: He often puts his interviews on his YouTube channel. If you can make it a video chat interview and record it, create some fun questions, he might just put YOU in front of his audience.

    Jeez, now we'll never see Aaron and his wit and wisdom around these parts again. He'll be too good to associate with us mere common folk. But congrats anyway Aaron....good on you.

    Also, I just checked out that Scrivener product mentioned earlier, since I've got half of a new training manual completed. That's pretty cool stuff. Whoever developed that product did a really nice thorough job.

    Not to rain on someones parade, but don't base any percentage of someones worth on their twitter following

    Grant is a very well known figure and is 100% top of his game,

    I am just pointing out that in your first post you seemed to be quite focused on his 240,000 followers,

    The good thing about being an author is that you are 99% of the time guaranteed to get twitter verified and thus automatically doubling your worth as a authority figure in the niche,

    Wish there was a way to get that verified badge sooner. Or to get @AaronDoud since the guy who has it is merely sitting on it.

    Kai thanks for the follow. And if you look though Grant's follows you can tell like anyone with loads of follows a certain percentage are bots. Just the name of the game on twitter the bots have to follow famous people to look real.

    Grant is one of the bigger names in the Sales Training niche and a personal favorite of mine. Reading his older stuff and watching his older videos is great because it shows how he has evolved. He didn't try to be perfect he just made sure he got better as time progressed. For anyone afraid what they can produce isn't "good enough" I would point to his work to show that it doesn't matter as much as one would think.

    For those that are wondering I am preparing plans for the blog this fall. Hopefully I can go live with that shortly after I finish up my move (buying a house back in town). And we will see what follows from that. And I apologize to the early followers for not having more content currently.

      I wasn't saying it necessarily aimed at Grant, as i have quite a big following on twitter myself due to my speaking in London and seminars and even my frequent nightlife events, and i aswell as grant do have numerous inactive followers.. They just suddenly appear overnight.. You are right its for them to seem real by following bigger names in their niche

      I usually try and keep on top of this using fake follower checks etc, and try and block as many as possible but it does get hard

      I was just saying due to the OP's post i think he was "wow" with the amount of follows grant has, didnt want him taking amount of follows in direct correlation to self worth for other prominent figures is what i meant
