Pathetic, desperate and seriously lower class.

I think this is more likely. In fact it is being trialed now.

Like it or not, seems we'll all be forced into active participation
with regards to advertising and marketing. The technology is way ahead
of the ability to monitor and legislate.

Walmart has used similar technology to what Tesco installed, for years.
They monitor all kinds of things, including how long a customer takes to
review and select a product

They were also one of the first to adopt RFID chips - under significant protest.

With regards to individual rights and freedom, it's a much different world today
than the one I remember just 10 (short) years ago. Makes me shudder to imagine what
the next 10 will bring.

If it's not a joke, it's odd.

If two men grabbed my wife and me out of our beds at night. You'd have two dead men. That's a fact.

Ten years from now, maybe I'd just have a heart attack.

I hope these guys have great insurance.

  It's a joke. They are making fun of the real videos that brands say are real but everyone is an actor.
  
  In the US this would get you sued and arrested. Japan (which does some extreme pranks) might get close to this but I doubt even in Japan you could go this far.
