I Hear a lot about SOLO adverts. I was wondering why people think that they are better than PPC advertising through organisations like Adwords and if so why?

What are WF members experiences about success or perhaps failure of solo ads?

    Hey Paid Surveys,
Personally from my experience you can build a List much faster with Solo Ads than PPC.

But I think the quality of the List is stronger ,at least in my own testing, with PPC.

Very helpful, I'm working on a list at the moment so may give solo ads a try

  • it's a good solo ad vendor you can build a list faster then with PPC especially Adwords PPC that doesn't like hard core squeeze pages where solo ad vendors in general don'g care (not as much).

Personally I think that PPC builds a much more responsive list, which buys more often than Solo ad lists.

I think this is because people who come to your list via PPC have already proven to be converted by adverts, whereas solo ad subs have been told to visit the website by someone else, and may only have subscribed just to get the freebie.

Don't forget that list building is as much a numbers game as anything else, so use any means necessary to continue building a quality responsive list.

    They're two totally different mediums.

Solo ads are faster, and arguably easier to scale with. (You can go out and buy 10,000 clicks if you have a good inventory of solo vendors. In my experience it would be harder than hell to get 10,000 PPC clicks without incessant and ongoing tweaking, but others will have different experience).

PPC requires lots of research, though I would say the potential is higher and offers access to a wider variety of niches... And odds are the end users are less marketed to. (We all know the typical solo ad end user is already on 100+ different lists. Just saying).

    But make no mistake...

Either way, you'll have to conduct due diligence, and have a great funnel to make it work.

And you have to KNOW your end user.

There are better ways to grow your list.

BUT . . . if you put a gun to my head and asked me, "Solo Ads or PPC," then I'd have to select PPC. No question.

the thing with solo ads is that a lot of the time these lists contain people who are not set on one thing and also a lot of newbies. If you can nurture these lists and show them that you can guide them in the right direction by providing immense value, then Solo Ads are excellent.

With PPC on the other hand you can get laser targeted traffic. For example with Facebook PPC in particular you can now even target people who have spent a certain amount of money online. However it takes a lot of tweaking to get it right.

But in conclusion I would say both are good in their own way. My preference is Solo Ads because that is what I am use to but at the same time will add PPC to my marketing soon as I thing its better to master one traffic source at a time rather than spreading yourself thin.

    Hope this helps

Solo ads are effective and affordable. But there are a lot of scammers out their. The best thing you can do with solo ads is to make sure you do your research and make sure your offer converts before investing in paid traffic. Not all solo ad providers are terrible. Facebook PPC is effective but can be complicated for the newbie. Solo ads are very easy and quick. Many PPC networks like Google cost too much to want to invest in them. Again, make sure you do your research first if you do go the solo ad route, and always start low before scaling.

It comes down to 2 points.

    1. How good your solo provider is.
    2. How good your offer/funnel is.

That determines how well your campaign performs.
