Is there anyway to tell which group of keywords (adgroup) is going to be the most profitable before you run a campaign?

The Google Keyword Planner will tell you the Avg. CPC and CTR for each keyword. Does that help at all in determining which group of keywords (ad group) you should go with?

This is your own understanding and analysis skills. By this thought you can just amazing the things around you but can't commit for anything, unless things don't go to serve. Further how to utilize the campaigns data to improve account health? It is also depend on your strategies and mythologies. Like how you see the things in your campaign.
It's hard to compete with big companies. For a budding company, there's no way that they can compete with established and well-known brands.

There is no way to tell which will be the most profitable without testing. You will either get lucky with an educated guess, or learn from it.

The same keywords can bring different effects and conversions.
You should testing different ads's content, creatives and titles to estimate which one is the best.
